Renee Kane walked toward the light and discovered a hole in the ground about a meter in diameter. Mist swirled within it, making it look like a portal.
She was certain this thing hadn't been here when she first came up the mountain.
'So, should I jump in and see?'
Seeing the hesitation on Renee Kane's face, Snowball said softly, "Master, I'll go in first and take a look."
With that, it jumped straight into the hole.
A second later, a message came from Snowball: "Master, this place... it seems to be a whole new world. I can't describe it..."
Renee Kane instinctively checked Snowball's coordinates. The numbers had turned into a string of garbled characters.
She hesitated no longer. After marking her current coordinates, she leaped into the hole.
After an initial feeling of weightlessness, she opened her eyes to a world she could have never imagined.
