In another realm, Caelis found himself standing amidst thousands of mirrors. Each mirror reflected a different image of himself. Without hesitation, he began walking toward what appeared to be an exit.
Then a familiar voice spoke.
[Good news! I think I can help you return much sooner.]
"How?"
[You'll know once you've reawakened your inner beast.]
Caelis frowned. That meant he would have to wait until he turned twenty-two again. "Are you certain I'll find Lina at the end of this path?"
[You will find the soulmate whose soul is already bound to yours.]
Caelis nodded slowly. Then he stepped forward into the blinding white light. The brightness forced him to close his eyes.
When he opened them again, his surroundings had changed completely.
Or rather...
They hadn't changed.
Everything had simply become pitch-black except for a faint light shining nearby. Only then did he realize he was lying down. Something covered his entire face.
