In the end, Lina agreed to return to the inn, and so did Caelis. He agreed to let them share a room. However, he let Lina sleep on the bed while he spent the entire night meditating in a chair. After all, now that he had surpassed the Grand realm, he could go for an entire week without sleep.
In contrast, Lina couldn't fall asleep. She couldn't get Caelis's words out of her mind.
"I'll become whatever you want me to be... because... you're the most precious person in my eyes."
What did those words mean? And why had Caelis looked at her like that?
More importantly, why couldn't she stop her heart from pounding?
She suddenly regretted insisting that Caelis book only one room. If they had stayed in separate rooms, she wouldn't have been so aware of his presence.
Lina rolled onto her other side, only for her eyes to land on Caelis, who was quietly meditating.
