Gilbert rubbed his hair awkwardly, then nodded. His eyes were covered in a dark shroud, and his body shifted restlessly every few seconds, unable to stand still. He looked at Zeke before asking again.
"You're… Zeke, right?"
'Why is this guy talking to me?'
Zeke thought vigilantly, turning alert. He looked at Gilbert for a brief moment, then answered dubiously.
"… I am."
"I-I'm Gilbert Augzvhen."
Gilbert extended his hand, seemingly wanting a handshake. Zeke didn't accept, taking a step further back.
"I know who you are. Do you need anything from me?"
"… I see."
Gilbert saw his actions and sighed in disappointment. But he didn't question and took back his hand. Sensing Zeke's impatience, he went straight to the point.
"… I apologize for what happened back then in the class exam. A classmate of mine was talking behind your back while we were on our way—I don't approve of that kind of behavior."
He bowed slightly.
'Huh?'
