Lucien Sinclair was bedridden for three whole days after the fainting incident in the bathroom.
Saying he was bedridden was just to sound grand, but in reality he did not want to get up at all; lying still in bed was much better. It saved him from having to see the probing eyes of the servants. It saved him from having to sit opposite Dominic Vance without knowing what to say.
Besides, the servants did not let him get up either.
Every day they repeated exactly one sentence: "Mr. Vance instructed that you must rest."
Like machines.
He heard it so much that he memorized it.
