Raya's POV.
"What do you mean you can't find it? Am I supposed to believe it just disappeared in plain sight?" I glared at the foot soldier with sweaty pits.
He wiped off the sweat beads on his forehead and turned around to explain the phenomenon one more time with a broken voice box.
"The… cave is no… longer there," he stuttered. "Even the bones and skulls that were littered everywhere… we can't find it. There's no trace of it."
The universe had to be playing tricks or something else? Something inexplicable.
"Come over here," I gestured, tapping my right heel on the floor for direction. "Come on, get on the platform, step up already,"
He gulped heavily and bit down on his lower lips. "Ma'am, I… I…"
"Don't make me repeat myself," I warned.
He jacked himself up and stood before me, breath short and loud.
"Where's the damn gate? It was here yesterday, so what's the problem?" I repeated.
He swallowed again and contorted his face. "We can't find the gate any…"
