Elara's POV
Watching the security personnel walk into the room to carry the dead man away freaked me out completely. My whole body began to shake as I watched them lift his stiff, lifeless legs and arms off the floor.
The image of his pale, blank face stayed stuck in my mind, making my heart race faster and faster until I could barely hear the sounds around me. I felt a cold chill run down my entire back as they lifted the body into a dark bag and zipped it shut with a harsh scraping noise.
The reality of what had just happened hit me like a splash of freezing water. Someone had just lost their life right in front of my eyes while I stood there doing nothing to stop it.
