Chapter 3 - Versace Model

"Come onnnn, Val… don't you remember me?" Roxanne groaned into Valen's ear as they walked down the cramped and crowded hall for lunch.

Valen sighed. When would this bitch take a hint and stop stalking behind her like some creepy cousin at the family reunion? It was already bad enough that Roxanne had transferred to her school, and now they're clueless about what she even did in the first place? This dumb, dumb girl…

"No, I have no idea who the fuck you are," Valen rolled her eyes, trying her very hardest to ignore the six-feet giant looming over her.

Roxanne giggled playfully, rolling their eyes back at her. She most likely did not believe her, which was quite apparent in their tone. They gently wrapped their arms around Valen's waist, grinning from ear to ear. Valen felt a jolt in her spine, a rush of anger pulsing through her veins. She felt violated, taken advantage of. All from just one touch. Just from one hug.

She felt disgusting. Ugh.

She immediately shoved them away aggressively, the glint of rage in her eyes rapidly escalating by the millisecond as their lanky body crumpled to the floor.

"Don't you EVER touch me again, you creepy fuck," Valen spat coldly.

She kicked Roxanne harshly in the side, leaving a big, purple bruise on her skin. However, she didn't flinch, nor yelp in pain. They were perfectly still, serene and at ease. It was almost as if… she had disconnected from the world the moment her face had hit the ground. Valen tilted her head in surprise. That was the first time someone hadn't screamed when she hurt them. This definitely wasn't the Roxanne that she had known and loved. But sadly, it was to be expected. It's been two years since she's seen them last, so of course Roxanne would be a whole different person. She just didn't expect this to happen this soon.

Nevertheless, Valen walked off to the cafeteria like nothing had ever happened.

But something obviously did happen, and she enjoyed every lasting second of it. Nobody ever lays their hands on Valen Morgan, especially the hands of whom she despises. She didn't have an ounce of sympathy for Roxanne, she was practically asking for it when she grasped her waist so sensually like that…

Her steps were slow and concise, as though she was listening for Roxanne's movements as she walked farther and farther away from their paralyzed body. It was sad, really, the way she just crumpled to the floor like a broken Jenga tower. The way she was probably still sprawled out in the middle of the hallway, most likely with a bruised lip and beat-up limbs to match.

Valen sighed. She knew that she wasn't a nice person, but even she had to admit this was too much. Sure, Roxanne had invaded her personal space, but that's just how they always were, touchy yet aloof. A killer combo to have. For all she knew, Roxanne was still laying on the ground, mocked at and teased by the students passing by to eat cheeseburgers and greasy french fries. She simply couldn't let that happen to her ex-best friend that she's known since she was ten! As annoying as this was going to be, she knew it was the best thing to do, both in her situation and Roxanne's.

Sighing, Valen turned around and struggled to squeeze through the incoming entourage of her classmates walking and chatting in the opposite direction. Seriously, who was that excited for burnt beef patties and soggy potato buns? Not to mention the moldy cheese…

"Coming through… move, you whores!" Valen cursed under her breath, pushing and shoving against the flood of students.

She made a mental note to herself to never walk in the opposite direction of the crowd again, which she would certainly remember for next time. The waves of her peers seemed endless, and it was honestly starting to give Valen a migraine. Loud thumping began to echo in her mind, her brain swimming in toxic waste as her frontal lobe struggled to escape the inevitable flood. Ugh, why did this have to happen now…?

Thump. Thump.

The throbbing worsened with every thought that escaped her mind. She couldn't deal with this right now, especially at a time like this… Valen had to think of something, or else she wouldn't be able to reach Roxanne in time. Hands shaking, she ran herself over to the girl's bathroom as fast as she could, trapping herself inside the nearest stall and slamming the door behind her. Her breathing was so loud that Valen could hear them echoing off the walls. Crap. Now her whole body was shaking. Was she having a seizure, or was it just her anxiety getting the best of her? She wasn't so sure anymore. The bathroom was spinning, and Valen was struggling to maintain her balance. She was honestly pathetic. So, so pathetic…

Valen….

You disgusting child.

Why on God's green earth are you so weak? Your father never raised you to be like this!

Answer me, you filthy skank!

You know we love you, right?

You can tell us anything.

You're dating a girl!? Good graces, what has gotten into you, Valen!?

Valen! Answer us!

Valen..! Can you hear us, you whore!?

Yes, Auntie.

"Valennn! Wake up!" a familiar voice filled Valen's mind, snapping her out of her trance.

The first thing Valen saw was a school nurse watching over her like a hawk, peering into her amber eyes. She winced, backing away and hitting the back of the hard cot she was spread out across. She turned her head to find the voice that awakened her, only to find out that it was Roxanne. They were sitting up in her cot, staring into Valen's eyes with worry and concern. That only confused Valen even more. Wasn't she the one who got injured? Why the fuck is she throwing a pity party? For Valen, of all people?

"I thought you fainted or something," Valen mumbled as she returned Roxanne's gaze.

Roxanne's eyes widened again with that annoying sparkle in her eyes. She giggled lightly, taking a moment to look at her chipped nails. Valen raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to respond. Why was she being so quiet all of a sudden? Only 30 minutes ago she was blabbering on and on about how they were so happy to see her again and how it was "destiny" for them to meet again.

What a load of horseshit.

This was no fate. It was revenge…

…for the quarrel they both shared two years ago.

"Well, you did shove me… but it's fine, really! A group of girls helped me up and took me to the Nurse's office!" Roxanne replied with that fake–ass bubbly tone of hers.

Valen coughed, "Group of girls?"

They nodded. "Yeah! They said I was really pretty, and even asked if I modeled! I don't, obviously… but they said I should model for Versace when I'm older! Ahhhh, they were sooo nice!!"

Valen's headache worsened after every word that came out of their mouth, their overly-peppy attitude nauseating. Oh god, why couldn't she just shut up? She liked hearing Roxanne's voice, but right now it was just too much. It took all of her willpower to refrain herself from wringing their neck to just make her stay quiet…

"And then, they asked what my name was, and I told them Roxanne, and they said it was so cutee! Oh my gosh oh my gosh! And then, they told me their names, one of them was named Cara, I think…" Roxanne kept prattling on and on about these quote on quote "superheroes" that helped her to the nurses office.

Wait a minute, Cara…? Oh gosh, it couldn't be!

"What?" They tilted their head in confusion. "You know her? Omg, are you two friendssss? Oh gosh, I met one of Valen's friends! Oh-em-geeee!"

"She's not my friend," Valen replied coldly, lowering her face so Roxanne couldn't see the expression on her face.

Both of Roxanne's eyebrows raised in puzzlement. "She's not…? You two seemed similar, both really pretty and super cool…"

"OH MY GOD, JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!" She snapped, pouncing onto Roxanne's cot, pinning her to the uncomfortable mattress.

Roxanne let out a squeak of surprise, her eyes widening as they stared into Valen's. There was a certain fury behind those amber irises, a certain fury that took years to create. Her tall and lanky body felt awkward underneath Valen's shorter, more muscular form. Valen's arms were shaking, her eyes starting to tear up. However, she didn't let any spill out, she kept them all bottled up inside. As quickly as it started, the moment came to a halt as the school nurse stumbled inside the room. He let out a cough, inspecting both of them like it was their first day on Earth.

"Ladies… please refrain from engaging in… intimate activities on school grounds," he sneered, waltzing back into the other room.

Valen's aggravated face immediately flushed red, quickly pushing herself off of Roxanne and sitting back onto her own cot. Roxanne was blushing as well, but underneath all of the embarrassment was a small smirk. A very subtle smirk of victory. She got Valen to notice her, even if it wasn't the type of attention she wanted.

"Valen… he's gone now…" she cooed.

"Shut up," Valen mumbled in response, burying her head into her knees.

They giggled coyly, turning her head to face the wall. She laid on her side, hugging the small white pillow that accompanied the cot.

"Yeah… I missed you too, Valen."
