Chapter 36 - CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

Ellen gasped, as Chris drove through the huge gates of the mansion, she was now going to call home. It was a luxurious villa in Trasacco with an all-white painting. "Welcome to your new home." Chris said with a smile at the expression on Ellen's face. "Would you like a tour?" He asked and she nodded, following him to the back. The villa was stretched with a story building as the main house, with a guest house attached to it at a corner for guests, and the servants. A summer hut divided the house from the guest house. The back had a massive swimming pool with a wide length, like the one in school, a grill by it and lounge chairs lined up, the garden had varieties of colorful flowers pruned and trimmed to perfection. Ellen smiled at the butterflies flying around, reminding her of the botanical gardens they had the wedding reception. Aaron had always been a fan of tennis, so it was no surprise there was a tennis court at the other side of the house. The balconies both downstairs and upstairs were spacious, and comfortable with cane chairs and coffee tables beside them. There were decorative pillows in the chairs, to make sitting more comfortable. Going inside, Ellen gasped at the interior décor once again. There were artworks in the hall, a small aquarium, by the left side of the wall, with a bulb that switched colors interchangeably. The tiling had 3D design of colorful flowers that made Ellen think her father is a flower person. The sofas looked comfy with pillows in them. A chandelier hanged from the ceiling in the middle with brightness. The dining area was at the right side of the tall staircase with beautiful railings. A grand piano right beneath it. A minibar could be spotted by the large screen on the wall upfront. Ellen happily climbed upstairs with Chris in tow, as she bypassed the gym and other rooms. She was exploring the hall of fame with Aaron's achievements, together with her own, which used to be on a table back at their small house, on the wall and in a case, when she saw one room with her name on it. She smiled and turned the knob to see her parents in the room, waiting for her. "There's my baby girl." Aaron said excitedly, as he opened his arms for a hug, and Ellen rushed to hug him, Elena joining in as well. She was yet to live here, but she knew she was home, where she's always belonged. The broad smile on her face changed to awe when she finally took in her surroundings. The room had a bright pink paint, contrary to the white painting of the house. It was a master bedroom, which had a bathtub and a shower place in the bathroom. The cabinet was filled with toiletries, and towels of different colors. The sink had a clear mirror before it, which made her smile when she saw her reflection. There was even a medicine cabinet filled with painkillers and band aids. The fragrance was great as an adjoining door opened to the toilet with air fresheners. Next was the closet which had her mouth wide open with its size. It was a walk-in closet divided into three parts: clothes, shoes of all kind and accessories. There was a dressing table right in front of the closet with a floor length mirror before it. They were not filled as Aaron wanted her to shop for her own closet, so they arranged the clothes she had already, back at Nima in the closet, together with her shoes. "Wow this place is huge. Our house would fit here." Ellen remarked excitedly. They all laughed, and Elena was especially elated to see her daughter finally happy with the life she deserves. "We left space so you could go for shopping with me or your friends sometimes." Elena said with a smile. "I can bring my friends here?" she asked with anticipation. "Ellen, you took them to that house in Nima despite them not being used to such places, what or who will stop you from bringing them here? No offence." Aaron answered, apologizing at the end. "Oh no I second you." Elena affirmed. Ellen shrieked with excitement, and rushed to hug them. She saw her bed laid neatly with a white bed sheet, and a customized blanket with her name embroided largely on it. A flat screen was on the wall opposite the bed with a Wi-Fi device beneath it. Chris entered with her things for which he went downstairs. "Oh, hi doctor." Elena greeted cheerfully before he could speak. "Hi auntie, hi Uncle Wilson. Good afternoon please." He responded. "Chris, you went to school abroad, so you probably don't know, but you don't go to school in Ghana and bring your stuffs inside the house. Unless you want bedbugs living with you. Please send those things to the garage before I pounce on you." Aaron said in a calm yet menacing tone. "Oh really, I didn't know please. I will take them down now." Chris said and made haste for the things, when; "wait please." Ellen said, rushing to take something out of her trunk. They watched her bring out a teddy bear and a necklace with a smile on her face. "Ellen, what are those?" her mother asked. "Uh, they are friendship gifts from my friends." She replied, not specifying. "Oh, I see. They are beautiful. Chris, please take the trunk downstairs, sorry for the trouble." Elena said and instructed. "It's no problem auntie. I'm sorry for bringing it up, I should have known." Chris assured. "No, I should have told you. I'm sorry, let me help you." Ellen apologized instead and held one side after putting the items on her Queen-sized bed. Chris smiled and held the other side when she wouldn't take no for an answer. They descended the stairs with the trunk while her parents followed. "I must go now. Stephanie is arriving today, and she won't like it if I'm not there to get her." Chris said with a smile after putting the trunk in the garage. "You have my number, right?" He asked Ellen. "And what does she need your number for?" Aaron asked with raised eyebrows. "Dad don't embarrass me please. I have your number, but I don't have a phone yet." Ellen said with tomato face. "Well, am I not right? You are not allowed to date a boy till I give my approval. And you can't pursue my daughter till she is at least where you are right now in her education, you hear me?" Aaron commented and ordered, Elena laughing at his protectiveness. She almost hit the man for arriving too late as her father. "Of course, Uncle. I'm just being friends with her, ha-ha." Chris replied with a nervous chuckle. Ellen looked like she would die out of embarrassment. She was thankful when Chris finally drove off and dashed to her room after giving her father a hard glare which made both her parents laugh. "Did I say something wrong?" Aaron asked his wife jovially. "No, you didn't. She just feels embarrassed. Besides, I've never had a problem with our daughter when it came to boys, so you should give her some credit. She's a good girl you know. Chris is her first male friend, and I trust her judgement. She is wise enough to make good decisions concerning her future." Elena defended and Aaron smiled, pulling her in for a cuddle in the sofa. "I know just what will cheer her up. I don't think she has seen it yet, that's why she gave that answer to Chris." Aaron said after a while and just then, Ellen came rushing down the stairs with something in hand. "Oh my God, oh, my God! Look at what I found." She jumped up and down with excitement. "See, I told you it would cheer her up. This is an early birthday present sweetie." Aaron said with a smile and Ellen hugged him, almost hitting her mother who had to dodge. It was the phone she had seen Aaron holding, with Chris that day, at the Wilson tower parking lot, months ago. It was the latest edition of iPhone, her first phone. The phone was among the books on a shelf in her room. Right above the table, with a MacBook Air and a study lamp on it. The bookshelf above had novels and textbooks. Ellen was admiring the laptop, when she saw the phone box on the shelf. She picked it and rushed out of the room in excitement. Aaron took the box and turned on the phone after plugin the charger. He taught her what she needed to know about iPhone and handed it over to her.
