Chapter 49 - CHAPTER FIFTY

"Wow, this is actually great." Ellen commented on the pie they were eating. They had just finished a plate of jollof they shared and were now enjoying their handmade dessert in the living room. "I know right. I loved it so much when mom made it for me. It is a London specialty." Henry explained. They were sitting on the sofa watching Netflix while sharing the pie, custard smeared over it. "So how many girls have you shared this with over a movie?" Ellen asked casually. "Normally I do popcorn and soda at the movies, but since everything is different when it comes to you, it's safe to say just you. I've never even brought anyone here aside my friends. Most people don't even know my house, because even when I throw parties, I throw them anywhere but here. Can you imagine the commotion and scandal that would be created if everyone knew my house? I didn't just invite you here, I even told the maids to show you respect because you are my lady. That is big." Henry replied with a tease and boast. "I know, I just wanted to hear you say it." Ellen said, laughing. "You know, you've become really bold these days. You are not the shy Eleanora I know, that's good. I love this new you more, especially the fact that you get jealous, shows you are crazy and possessive about me." Henry teased with a wink, and she blushed. Ellen feeling this way towards him was exactly what he wanted, he felt genuinely happy inside. He leaned in and kissed her, till *ahem*, they heard someone clear her throat. Henry released Ellen who was panting out of breath, and taking in deep air, when he saw his grandmother behind them. "Hi Rosie. Sorry you had to see that, this is Eleanora, my girlfriend, and this is my grandmother, but I call her Rosie." Henry greeted and introduced, Ellen looking like she want the earth to swallow her up at that moment. "Oh my, your girlfriend? Well, you must be incredibly special if he is introducing you to me. He never does that; I usually hear about it when he's done with them." "Rosie, come on." Henry whined when she made that statement. The last thing he wanted was Ellen getting ideas that he was toying with her. "It's a pleasure to meet you grandma. I've heard beautiful things like yourself about you." Ellen greeted her after catching her breath, and steadying herself. "I'm sorry for how you came to meet us, your grandson can't get his paws off me, and I'm glad we are meeting before we break up." Ellen continued nervously. "Whoa, who's breaking up with who? Enough with that talk." Henry complained and commanded. "Sorry." Ellen and Grandma Rose said in unison, making them laugh. "Is that apple pie? You baked? I thought you only bake for your parents and me." Grandma Rose pointed out. "Yes, but Eleanora has been added to that list now." Henry said with a smile as the maid came for the plate. "I see. I don't know what or how you did it, but you have got my grandson doing something he doesn't do normally. I'm really happy to see him finally find someone. Welcome to the family dear, you can call me Rosie too." Grandma rose commented as she hugged Ellen with a wide smile. "I've been hearing that a lot, trust me, Rosie." Ellen said shyly with a smile. "I thought I was the only one who could call you that." Henry whined again. "Well, Eleanora has been added to the list." Grandma Rose rebutted with a smirk. "Um, could you please call me Ellen? Uh, Henry is the only one who calls me that. It kind of feels weird to hear it from someone else, please don't take it the wrong way." Ellen requested meekly. "Oh, I see. Of course dear, he can at least get that one for himself." Grandma Rose said and laughed. "As much as I would love to get to know you, I must rest now. Plus, I have a feeling Kobby here would not like me staying here any longer, however, you better be a gentleman and behave yourself." She said, turning to Henry with a warning and a smile. "I always am a gentleman Rosie, you know that. Go rest now please, I don't want dad accusing me of not taking great care of you." Henry said with a smile too. "Haha I'm going. It was a pleasure meeting you Ellen, I hope I see you again and get to talk with you." "Pleasure is all mine, Rosie." Ellen replied and hugged her, saying bye to her as she ascended the stairs. They sat back on the sofa with a sigh and burst out laughing. "I can't believe your grandma just saw us kiss." Ellen said with an embarrassed chuckle. "I know right. She likes you though. I don't blame her, who wouldn't like you?" Henry commented, making her blush for the nth time today. Henry was moving in to steal a kiss when her phone rang. "Um, sorry it's my mom. I think she's home now; I have to go. Today was great." Ellen said, not picking up the call. "That's too bad, I don't want to let you go." Henry said, wrapping his arms around her tightly. "Henry come on; I have to go. It's getting late and mom won't stop calling. My driver isn't here; you can drop me if you want." Ellen persuaded. "Okay, I will let go when you call me babe." Henry bargained and Ellen blushed. "Fine, babe please let me go before my mom calls my driver, and he tells her where I am." Ellen relented with flushed cheeks. "Who knew sweet little Eleanora can be such a bad girl who lies to her parents about her boyfriend?" Henry teased as he let go of her and they made their way out to the garage. "I'm not lying to them; I'm just hiding it from them for now. I will tell them later." Ellen defended as she entered the car, he just opened its door for her. "If you say so." Henry teased when he got in and started the engine. "Those two make a lovely pair, I hope he doesn't mess it up." Erica said to the maid standing by her behind the window, when they saw the couple drive away. "I hope so too. She seems to make him happy." Grandma Rose said behind, startling them. "Oh, Madam Rose, do you need anything please?" Erica asked nervously. "I came for water, but I would love it if you stopped sleeping with my son." She sneered and left, the maids smiling to themselves. "So, you resent her because she is your father's mistress?" Ellen asked Henry as their topic of discussion was Erica, when Ellen remembered to ask for an explanation about his attitude towards her. Henry told her about seeing them in bed when he entered his father's room once, without knocking. "She's one of his numerous mistresses. I adore my father, but I hate what he's doing to my mom. I can't even report it because I don't want to break her heart." Henry explained further, gripping the steering wheel hard with anger. "Huh, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Ellen muttered under her breath. "Yeah yeah, I know I take after my dad. I've heard that too many times." Henry replied, rolling his eyes as he zoomed into their compound. "Sorry you heard that, I wasn't judging you or anything." Ellen apologized, regretting what she said. "Don't worry about it. I had a lot of fun today; we should do it more often. You are the only one that keeps me sane. I love you, Eleanora. I mean it." Henry professed, taking her hand, and brushing aside her regret. "I love you too." She replied with a smile and made the first move to kiss him. "I must go inside before mom comes out to fetch me, I will explain to no avail. Goodnight baby boy." She said after the kiss, making Henry laugh. "Yeah, we don't want to ruin the sweet and innocent image she has of you." Henry teased with laughter. "Goodnight baby girl." He continued, bidding her farewell as she got out of the car. He would have escorted her, but they didn't want to risk getting caught by her mom, or dad if he was around too. Henry drove away when he saw her enter, after she turned and waved at him for the last time, humming to himself. He was so in love.
