Chapter 56 - CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN

"Are you kidding me?" Henry exclaimed with disbelief when he saw Erica, the chief maid, in his father's bed. The time read 12:05AM and Henry had gone to wish Terry a happy birthday, as they shared the same birthday. "Kobby." Terry called his son when he realized he just walked in on them. Henry did not stay to listen to whatever he had to say, he just left for his room in anger. Terry got to his son's room after dressing up to talk things over. "Kobby?" He called the guy who had his cloth over him like he was asleep. "I'm sleeping dad, leave." He said in a menacing voice. "Happy birthday, son." He sighed and whispered before leaving his room. *ring*, Henry almost threw his phone away, but saw the caller ID before his anger took over. 🎵"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday my love, happy birthday to you. Hip, hip, hip!?"🎵 The only voice that could soothe his anger sang at the other end of the call. "Hurray." He forced himself to reply. "Did I wake you?" Ellen asked with concern. "No, why do you ask?" Henry answered. "You sound upset." Ellen replied. "Why will I be upset because you woke me up?" Henry asked, getting annoyed. "Well, if not me, then someone clearly upset you. What's wrong?" Ellen asked with care. She knew how Henry's temper could be, and treaded with caution. "I'm sleepy, let's talk later." Henry said instead, and hung up on her. Ellen stared at her phone screen perplexed. 'Relax Ellen, he's not upset with you. No need to think you did something bad.' She thought to herself as her eyes got teary. She had no idea how or when it happened, but she had really fallen for Henry, and the thought of him being even remotely upset with her made her teary. She had set an alarm to help her wake up and call Henry, like he called her on her birthday. She was too sleepy to wake up on time, and the alarm rang for the second time before she woke up fully, to make her voice sound normal before calling him. She's been fretting all week wondering what she can do for him since he had everything. However, whenever she thought about it, his words would ring in her ears instead; "I want you baby girl, just you." This made thinking hard for her. Henry is the best person she's ever been with, and she fell for him every day. She remembered when she had told him about her mom's pregnancy that night, after finding out. "Congratulations to your family baby girl. I know you will be the best sister to him." Henry had said. "What makes you think it is a him?" Ellen had asked with interest. "Because no one can replace you as the daughter of the Wilson family, my special baby girl. Besides, you haven't enjoyed being daddy's girl enough to be overthrown so soon, that's why I'm hoping for a boy for your sake." Henry explained with a smile and Ellen laughed on the other end of the phone. "What if he comes out as a she?" She asked with mischief. "Then I'll be your daddy." Henry said matter off factly, and Ellen blushed so hard, she ended the call in embarrassment, while Henry laughed at her cuteness in his room, understanding why she hanged up. *ring*, Her phone ringing brought her out of her stupor. Her heart did a somersault when she saw it was him calling her back. "Hello?" She spoke shakily. "I'm sorry. I'm upset over something else, not with you. Thank you for calling, you beat Clara to it this year. I'm glad you called, and I'm sorry for the attitude I showed." Henry apologized, regretting his action after hanging up on her. Ellen on the other hand was pleased to hear him apologize and show appreciation for her call. "Clara is always the first person to call?" She asked, trying to light up the mood. "Yes, she does. She hasn't called me today though. I guess she's too tired and asleep." Henry replied with a calm voice now, which made Ellen feel more relaxed. She was about to say something when; "Guess who is calling me? Another person I didn't expect to be in my life this year." Henry said with a cheerful voice and Ellen got confused. "Who?" she asked. "Happy birthday Kobby. I know, I know. I'm more surprised at myself than you are." Ellen heard Steph's cheerful voice instead of an answer from Henry, and she realized Steph was the person Henry was referring to. Turns out he had merged the call, but Steph was yet to hear her voice as she was too jealous for some unknown reason, to speak. "Indeed, I'm surprised but in a great way. The highlight of my new age, is having my special ladies wish me at midnight, on my birthday." Henry said with a smile. "Really, is Clara on the line? I didn't realize it. Hi Afua." Steph greeted excitedly. They always referred to themselves with their local names. Henry was Kobby, Steph was Naa, and Clara was Afua. Steph left for Canada before they met Eric, so she wasn't close with him. "Hi Steph, it's Ellen. Good night, guys." Ellen responded to the greetings and hung up before anyone could say anything. "Oh my God, why did I think she's Clara? You should have told me she was at the other end, jerk." Steph groaned, knowing very well Ellen won't take this lightly. "Hahaha, did you just make my girlfriend think, she's not special to me? Naa, I'm already on thin ice with her, damn it." Henry said with a chuckle. "Well, you don't sound worried since you're laughing. Maybe she isn't." Stephanie retorted. "You worry too much, you know that? I have no plans of hurting her, you girls have to give me a break." Henry said earnestly. "I have a hard time believing that. She is really into you, and I know what boys are capable of doing with girls, who are head over heels for them. Before you try anything, remember she is Aaron Wilson's daughter." Steph said with a warning and Henry smirked. "Of course she is, and I am Terry Yawson's son. I didn't fall too far from his tree." Henry replied and Steph got a weary feeling about his tone. "Kobby, what are you planning?" she asked, scared of the answer. "Nothing, seriously can't you give me the benefit of a doubt? Also, don't ask questions you wouldn't want answers to. Thanks for your wish baby girl, good night." Henry replied vaguely and hung up.
