As it turned out, Leonidas in fact didn't tell her immediatly. Instead, he got briefed on the mission, again, by the fat scout.
Drest rubbed his overgrown belly while smiling, drops of saliva leaking through the gaps in his teeth. And when he spoke, he addressed Marybeth instead of Leonidas.
"You already know about the mission, so we'll leave after…" His gaze traveled downwards, towards Marybeth's chest.
Oh, that's it.
Just as Leonidas took a step forward, about to stab Drest with a flower, something rather unexpected happened.
Zahra, who was talking to the other scout—Cutter—put her hand on Drest's shoulder and squeezed slightly. Well, it looked harmless to Leonidas, but judging from the way Drest was trying to squirm away from her hand and his pained expression, Leonidas would have guessed otherwise.
Without taking her hand off, Zahra glanced at Leonidas, the dark depths of her raven eyes unreadable, and motioned once with her head.
"Let's go." She said.
