Chapter 15 - War Arena Selection

The announcement came without warning.

It appeared on every screen.

Every wall.

Every personal device.

Every broadcast channel in the Arena.

A single sentence:

"WAR ARENA SELECTION BEGINS IN 24 HOURS."

And under it—

"TEAM-BASED SURVIVAL. FACTION SYSTEM ENABLED. OWNERSHIP RIGHTS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED. RANKING POINTS ×5."

The entire Arena exploded into chaos.

The Meaning of War Arena

Astra read the announcement three times.

Silas read it once and already understood the problem.

"Faction system," Silas said quietly. "That means people can officially form armies."

Astra nodded. "And ownership rights suspended means… owned players can fight freely?"

Silas smiled slightly. "No. It means families can't interfere officially. Unofficially… they'll interfere more than ever."

Astra crossed her arms. "So this is politics disguised as a game."

Silas looked at her.

"This is war disguised as entertainment," he corrected.

Control Room

Lyra looked at the War Arena file and felt nervous.

"This is too early," she said. "They usually don't start War Arena until the end of the season."

Kael stood behind her, shoulder bandaged, chest still injured but he stood like nothing had happened.

"They're rushing," Kael said.

Lyra looked at him. "Why?"

Kael answered:

"Because they're scared."

Why They're Scared

Lyra turned in her chair. "Scared of what?"

Kael looked at the Arena map.

"Of players they don't control," he said.

"Astra."

"Silas."

"Some others."

Then he added quietly:

"…And me."

Lyra hesitated, then asked something carefully.

"Kael… what are you really planning?"

Kael didn't answer.

Instead, he said:

"Open the War Arena map."

The War Arena Map

A massive hologram appeared in the room.

It was not a dungeon.

It was not a city.

It was an entire continent.

Mountains.

Forests.

Rivers.

Ruined cities.

Old battlefields.

Fortresses.

Underground tunnels.

Weather zones.

Supply zones.

Lyra stared at it.

"This isn't a game map," she said.

"This is a war map."

Kael nodded slightly.

"Yes," he said.

"And I designed it."

Lyra slowly looked at him.

"You're not designing dungeons anymore…" she said quietly.

"You're designing wars."

Kael didn't deny it.

Rules of War Arena

The official rules were released one hour later.

WAR ARENA RULES:

Players may form teams of up to 50 members.

Each team must choose a Leader.

The Arena will last 30 days.

Teams earn points by:

Capturing zones

Eliminating enemy players

Completing war missions

Holding supply routes

Teams can form alliances.

Teams can betray alliances.

The winning team receives:

Massive ranking points

Family sponsorship offers

Direct promotion to Elite Rank

Leader of the winning team receives a special title:

"WAR KING."

Silas read the last line and smiled.

"War King…" he said. "So this is where kings are born."

Astra looked at the map again.

"No," she said quietly.

"This is where kings die."

Recruitment Begins

Within hours, the Arena turned into a political battlefield.

Strong players started recruiting weaker ones.

Rich players started buying equipment and loyalty.

Owned players were being "loaned" to teams.

Assassins disappeared into the shadows.

Spies started working.

And somewhere in the Arena—

A girl with calm eyes and a sniper rifle watched everything from a screen.

Nexa Vale.

She ignored all team invitations.

She ignored all messages.

She only looked at one name on the screen:

Kael Veyron.

Then she looked at another:

Astra Vale.

Then another:

Silas Mord.

She whispered quietly:

"…I wonder which side you'll choose."

Astra's Problem

Astra sat in a quiet room, looking at a list of players who wanted to join her team.

There were too many.

Some wanted protection.

Some wanted fame.

Some wanted to use her.

Some wanted to kill her from the inside.

Silas walked into the room.

"Building an army?" he asked.

Astra sighed. "Trying to."

Silas looked at the list and laughed a little.

"This isn't how you build an army," he said.

Astra looked at him. "Then how?"

Silas's smile disappeared.

"You don't build an army with strong people," he said.

"You build an army with useful people."

The First Members

Silas wrote five roles on the screen:

Scout

Strategist

Engineer

Negotiator

Monster

Astra looked at the last one. "Monster?"

Silas nodded.

"Every army needs someone the enemy fears," he said.

Meanwhile — Cassian Reth

Cassian stood in a luxurious room, watching reports.

"Status?" he asked.

An assistant answered:

"Vorn Family recruiting heavy fighters."

"Nexis Family recruiting assassins and spies."

"Solari Family controlling supply zones."

"Ordan Family buying players and forming large teams."

Cassian asked, "And Astra?"

The assistant answered, "She hasn't chosen a faction."

Cassian smiled slightly.

"Good," he said.

"Because if she stays independent…"

He looked at the War Arena map.

"…she will change the entire balance."

Control Room — The Real Plan

Lyra watched Astra's recruitment list.

"She's going to be targeted," Lyra said.

"Independent team, rising champion, connected to you…"

Kael nodded.

"Yes," he said.

Lyra looked at him.

"Then we should help her," she said.

Kael was quiet for a moment.

Then he said something unexpected:

"We already are."

Lyra frowned. "What do you mean?"

Kael zoomed into the War Arena map.

He highlighted a zone.

Then another.

Then another.

Supply zones.

Defensive zones.

Hidden tunnels.

Sniper mountains.

Escape routes.

All positioned in a way that—

If Astra's team started in a certain region…

They would have the best defensive position on the entire map.

Lyra slowly realized.

"You designed the map…"

She looked at him.

"…for Astra to survive."

Kael didn't confirm it.

But he didn't deny it either.

Final Scene — Team Name

Silas and Astra stood in a training hall.

"We need a team name," Astra said.

Silas thought for a few seconds.

Then he smiled slightly.

"The Architect's Army?" he suggested.

Astra shook her head.

"Too obvious."

Silas thought again.

Then he said:

"No Kings."

Astra looked at him. "No Kings?"

Silas nodded.

"No Kings. No Owners. No Chains."

He looked at her.

"If we win… we don't become rulers."

He smiled slightly.

"We become free."

Astra thought about it.

Then she nodded.

"Okay," she said.

"Team Name: NO KINGS."

On the Arena registration screen, a new team appeared:

TEAM REGISTERED: NO KINGS

LEADER: ASTRA VALE

MEMBERS: 2

Astra Vale.

Silas Mord.

And far away, in the control room, Kael Veyron looked at the screen and said quietly:

"Good."

Then he whispered something almost no one heard:

"Now the real game begins."
