Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Crimson Breakfast

The morning sun of Nexara did not rise; it bled through the mist, a pale violet glow that illuminated the floating islands surrounding the Voss estate. Inside the master suite, the air was still heavy with the scent of sex and ozone.

Kaiser Ken sat on the edge of the bed, his bare back a map of shallow, healing scratches. He felt… different. The "human" fragility that had once anchored him to a dying Earth was gone. In its place was a cold, efficient engine of power. His muscles were denser, his senses sharp enough to hear the heartbeat of a servant three hallways away.

A soft, cool hand slid across his shoulder. Elara pressed her cheek against his spine, her silver hair spilling over his golden skin.

"You didn't sleep," she whispered, her voice melodic and tinged with a new, deep-seated devotion.

"I don't need sleep," Kaiser replied, turning to catch her chin. He looked into her emerald eyes, seeing the faint gold ring around her pupils—the mark of his claim. "I need results. Your father won't let last night go. Who is the biggest threat to your position in this House?"

Elara sighed, her expression darkening. "My cousin, Lord Viktorin. He's a Pureblood zealot who believes House Voss should only breed within the Seven Houses. He's already challenged my right to the inheritance twice. Seeing you… he'll call it a desecration of our blood."

Kaiser's lips curled into that predatory smirk. "A desecration? I'll show him a transformation."

The Lion in the Pit

The breakfast hall of House Voss was a display of morbid opulence. Long tables of obsidian were laden with rare meats, chalices of fortified blood, and mana-infused fruits. Count Valerius sat at the head, but his seat was overshadowed by a younger man with slicked-back black hair and a sneer that seemed permanent.

Lord Viktorin.

As Kaiser entered, flanked by Elara, the entire room went silent. Kaiser wasn't wearing the servant's silks anymore. He had claimed a set of dark, reinforced leather armor from the manor's armory, his chest partially exposed, the shattered slave mark glowing faintly like a badge of war.

"So," Viktorin drawled, swirling a glass of deep crimson liquid. "The pet has been allowed to sit at the table. Elara, your desperation is truly becoming a stain on our lineage."

Kaiser didn't sit. He walked straight to the head of the table, stopping inches from Viktorin. The man was a high-tier vampire, radiating a cold, oppressive aura, but to Kaiser, it felt like a breeze against a mountain.

"I've heard a lot about 'bloodlines' since I got here," Kaiser said, his voice dropping to a dangerous, gravelly register. "But all I see is a boy hiding behind a title. Stand up."

Viktorin's eyes flared red. "You insolent cur! I am a Lord of the Seven—"

"I said stand up."

Kaiser activated [Blood Command].

The air in the hall shattered. A shockwave of pure, ancestral authority slammed into everyone in the room. The servants dropped to their knees instantly, their noses bleeding. Even Count Valerius gripped his chair, his face turning ashen.

Viktorin's body acted before his mind could protest. His legs straightened with a jerk, his glass shattering on the floor as his muscles betrayed him. He stood trembling, his eyes wide with a terror he had never known. He was a predator who had just realized he was staring at an apex entity.

"Your blood is thin," Kaiser whispered, leaning in so only Viktorin could hear. "It screams in fear because it recognizes its master. If you ever mention Elara's name with anything less than absolute reverence again, I won't just take your title. I'll drain you dry and feed the remains to the hounds."

Kaiser reached out, casually plucking a piece of fruit from Viktorin's plate, and took a bite. He turned to the Count, who was watching with wide, calculating eyes.

"Now," Kaiser said, his voice returning to a calm, arrogant chill. "Let's talk about the Shattered Continent. I hear there's a sorceress there who needs to be reminded of her place."

The System's Call

As Kaiser sat down—taking the seat to the Count's right, effectively displacing the heir—the blood-red interface flickered in his mind.

[Seduction Odyssey: Quest Updated]

Objective: The Second Pillar.

Target: Lady Seraphina Vale.

Reward: Shadow Manipulation Mastery & Harem Resonance (Stage 1).

Kaiser felt a pulse in his mind—a psychic tether pulling him toward the north. It was the same feeling he had with Elara, but sharper, colder, like a needle made of ice.

Elara reached under the table, fisting her hand in his trousers, her knuckles white. She could feel it too through the bond. A rival was approaching.

"She's coming, isn't she?" Elara whispered, her voice a mix of jealousy and fated acceptance. "Seraphina. The Ice Queen of House Vale."

"Let her come," Kaiser said, his hand covering Elara's, squeezing with a possessive strength that promised she would never be cast aside. "I have plenty of room in my kingdom. But first, we have a trial to survive."

The Count finally spoke, his voice heavy with a newfound respect. "The God-Orchestrated Trials begin in three days, Kaiser. Every House sends their champion to the World Root to claim the Essence of the Core. If you are truly what your blood says you are… you will lead House Voss."

Kaiser stood, pulling Elara up with him. He didn't look at the Count; he looked out the window at the floating continents in the distance.

"I don't lead for House Voss," Kaiser declared. "I lead for myself. And anyone who follows me gets a seat at the throne. Anyone who doesn't… gets buried under it."

The Midnight Pact

That night, the dominance wasn't just political.

Kaiser took Elara on the balcony, overlooking the abyss between the floating islands. He wanted her to feel the vastness of the world he was going to conquer. He entered her from behind, his hands gripping the stone railing as he drove into her with a relentless, rhythmic power.

The danger of the heights and the cold wind against their heated skin only fueled the fire.

"Tell me," Kaiser growled into her ear, his fangs grazing the sensitive skin of her neck. "Who do you belong to?"

"You… only you…" Elara cried out, her voice lost to the wind. "Kaiser… my King… my everything!"

As they peaked together, a raven made of pure shadow landed on the railing just feet away. Its eyes were a piercing, stormy violet. It watched them with an intelligence that was far from animal.

Kaiser didn't stop. He stared the shadow-bird down, his eyes glowing gold-slitted crimson, even as he emptied himself into Elara.

The bird tilted its head, then dissolved into a cloud of dark mist, leaving behind a single, scented parchment.

"I am waiting in the Spires, Progenitor. Don't disappoint me."
