Chapter 3 - Chapter:2 Ravenwood Motel

The motel door creaked as Adrian pushed it open.

A small bell above the door rang softly.

The sound echoed through the empty lobby.

Lucas stepped in behind him and looked around. "Well… this place looks welcoming."

The reception area was dimly lit. A single lamp on the counter flickered weakly. The air smelled old and dusty, like the building hadn't been cleaned in years.

But strangely… the lights were on.

"Elena?" Sofia whispered quietly. "Do you see anyone?"

Elena shook her head.

"No."

Emma walked toward the counter and tapped it lightly. "Hello? Anyone here?"

Silence.

No footsteps.

No voices.

Just the faint buzzing of the light above them.

Rafael leaned over the counter and looked around the back room.

"Looks empty," he said.

Lucas shrugged. "Maybe the owner stepped out."

On the counter lay an old guest register book.

It was already open.

Lucas grabbed the pen beside it and flipped through the pages.

"Wow," he said. "People actually stayed here."

The pages were filled with old names and dates written in faded ink.

But when he reached the last page, Lucas paused.

"That's strange."

Nick stepped closer. "What?"

Lucas pointed at the page.

Eight blank lines waited under the last entry.

"Looks like we're the next guests," Lucas said jokingly.

He quickly wrote their names one by one.

Adrian Carter

Lucas Bennett

Rafael Morales

Nick Laurent

Elena Volkov

Sofia Alvarez

Emma Whitmore

Olivia Hayes

"There," Lucas said proudly. "Official guests of Creepy Motel."

Nick stared at the page for a moment.

Something about it felt… wrong.

Almost like the book had been waiting.

Adrian closed the register.

"Alright," he said calmly. "We'll stay here tonight. Tomorrow morning we leave and find the highway."

Everyone nodded.

They walked down the motel hallway.

The corridor was long and narrow.

Old yellow lights flickered above them, casting long shadows on the floor.

Some of the room doors were slightly open.

Rafael peeked inside one.

The room looked surprisingly normal.

A bed. A small table. A lamp.

"Looks good enough for one night," Rafael said.

Adrian nodded. "We'll split into rooms."

Adrian and Lucas took the first room.

Rafael and Nick took the next.

Elena and Sofia went to the third room.

Emma and Olivia stayed in the last one.

Soon the hallway became quiet again.

---

Hours passed.

The town outside was silent.

Inside her room, Sofia suddenly woke up.

Her heart was beating fast.

She listened carefully.

At first there was nothing.

Then she heard it.

Footsteps.

Slow.

Heavy.

Walking somewhere in the hallway.

"Sofia?" Elena whispered sleepily. "What's wrong?"

Sofia sat up slightly. "Someone's outside."

Elena listened.

The footsteps continued.

Then they stopped.

Right outside their door.

Both girls stared at the door quietly.

But nothing happened.

After a moment the footsteps started again.

Slowly moving away.

---

In another room, Rafael was lying awake staring at the ceiling.

Suddenly he heard three knocks on the wall beside his bed.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

He sat up immediately.

"Nick?"

Nick looked over from the other bed. "What?"

"Did you knock?"

Nick frowned. "No."

Both of them stared at the wall.

Silence returned.

---

In the last room, Olivia suddenly woke up.

She had a strange feeling.

Like someone was standing very close.

She slowly opened her eyes.

The room was dark.

For a moment she thought she saw a shadow near the corner of the room.

She quickly turned on the lamp.

The light filled the room.

Nothing was there.

Emma groaned and turned over in bed. "What happened?"

"Nothing," Olivia said quietly.

But her eyes stayed fixed on the empty corner.

---

Around 3:03 AM, Adrian suddenly woke up.

He didn't know why.

The motel was completely silent.

Then he heard it.

A faint creaking sound.

Adrian sat up.

The sound came from the hallway.

He slowly got out of bed and walked to the door.

Lucas was still asleep.

Adrian carefully opened the door a little.

The hallway was dim.

And something strange was happening.

One by one…

The motel room doors were slowly opening by themselves.

Creak.

Another door opened.

Creak.

Then another.

Adrian's eyes moved down the corridor.

At the far end of the hallway, near the reception desk…

Someone was standing there.

A tall dark figure.

Completely still.

Watching.

The hallway light flickered once.

Adrian blinked.

When the light came back on…

The figure was gone.

Adrian stepped back slowly and closed the door.

But before the door shut completely, his eyes caught something on the wall beside the hallway light.

Three words scratched into the old paint.

YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE COME.
