In the castle hall
The three girls were preparing things at the long table, while Ed found a spot in the corner of the hall to write and draw.
That's right, Adelaide also called Sofia out. Sofia rarely goes out, but this time Adelaide said she was going to make a cake, and she couldn't resist the temptation to come here.
"Sister Sofia, you're so fair-skinned!" Carly, the youngest among them, greeted her first.
"You're beautiful too, Carly," Sofia replied politely, without saying much.
The two exchanged compliments, thus formally introducing themselves.
The materials and tools used this time were better than last time, since this was the second time making it, and Adelaide had been thinking about it a lot, so some things had been improved by her.
Adelaide looked at the two human-shaped egg beaters who were still unaware of the situation and chatting and laughing, and she was already overjoyed: "Tomorrow I'll make sure you two can't even lift a loaf of bread, hehe."
"Adelaide, is something making you happy? You're smiling so broadly." Sophia touched her forehead and looked at Adelaide, who was standing there grinning foolishly.
Adelaide suddenly woke up, touched the corner of her mouth, and thankfully there was nothing there.
"Really? I'm just a little sad that I had to prepare all of this." Adelaide quickly changed her expression.
Sofia looked at Adelaide with some surprise at how quickly things had changed.
"Adelaide, because none of us know how to do it. If you need our help, you can just say so."
"Yes, I do need your help." Adelaide picked up two small jars and handed one to each of them.
"Since you're just starting out, let's help with this simplest thing first! Just blend the stuff inside until it looks like white clouds." With that, he picked up a blender tied with a small twig and handed it to the two of them.
She then picked up the large jar to prepare other things.
Sofia glanced at Adelaide's large jar, then at her small one. A thought crossed her mind:
"Adelaide is such a good friend. She took the hardest work for herself and let Carly do the easiest work."
Watching Adelaide being assigned tasks, Ed, sitting in the corner, remained silent. Life should be interesting, shouldn't it? Otherwise, it's too dull and boring.
So the four people in the hall went about their own business, creating a rather heartwarming scene.
Adelaide quickly finished her work, pretending to pick up this and that on the long table, but actually secretly observing the two humanoid egg beaters.
Gradually, the smile on her lips grew wider and wider, because Sophia and Carly were switching the food between their left and right hands, and the frequency of switching was getting faster and faster.
Carly was starting to have trouble holding on. The contents of the jar hadn't changed much; it was far from resembling a cloud, let alone a piece of paper.
"Adelaide, can this be stirred into a cloud shape?" Carly shook her sore hands to give them a short rest.
"Yes, Carly, you can ask Master if you don't believe me."
"Is that so, Lord Ed?" Carly asked, looking toward the corner.
"Yes, Carly." Ed smiled.
"Adelaide, why aren't you stirring this jar?" Sophia finally understood that Adelaide was doing it on purpose; she was holding the biggest jar but actually doing the easiest job.
"This one! Because you don't know how to do the others! This is the simplest and most suitable for you."
Sofia didn't believe Adelaide's explanation, but she didn't stop and started stirring even more vigorously. What could she do? She loved to eat it.
Fortunately, after their painful perseverance, the contents of their jars finally changed.
"Okay, okay, we'll have cake soon."
