Chapter 1 - Title: The Day I Met You Again

I never believed in second chances, not until the day I saw Daniel again.

It was a quiet evening, the kind that made memories louder than reality. I had just finished work and stopped by a small café to escape the noise of the city. I wasn't expecting anything unusual—just coffee, silence, and maybe a few minutes to breathe.

Then I heard my name.

"Amara?"

I froze. That voice… it carried years of memories in just one word. Slowly, I turned around—and there he was.

Daniel.

The boy who once knew all my secrets. The boy who broke my heart.

Time had changed him. He looked older, calmer… but his eyes were the same. The same eyes that once looked at me like I was the only person in the world.

"I didn't expect to see you here," he said, walking closer.

"Me too," I replied, trying to stay composed.

We sat down together, awkward at first. Two people who once shared everything, now struggling to find the right words. But somehow, conversation started to flow.

We talked about life, dreams, and the years we spent apart. He told me how he moved away, chased opportunities, and lost a lot along the way. I told him about the pain I went through after he left without saying goodbye.

"I was scared," he finally admitted. "I thought leaving was the only way to fix things… but I was wrong. I lost you."

Silence followed. But this time, it wasn't awkward—it was honest.

"I waited for you," I said quietly. "For a long time."

He looked at me, regret written all over his face. "Do you still hate me?"

I shook my head. "No. I tried to… but I couldn't."

That was the moment everything changed.

Love didn't rush back like a storm. It came gently, like a familiar song we both remembered. We laughed again. We smiled without forcing it. And for the first time in years, it felt right.

Before we left, he held my hand.

"Can we try again?" he asked softly.

I looked at him—not the boy who broke my heart, but the man who came back to fix it.

"Maybe," I said with a small smile. "But this time… don't disappear."

"I won't," he promised.

And for the first time, I believed him.

Because sometimes, love isn't about never breaking—it's about finding your way back after you do.
