Chapter 1 : Getting Reincarnated EXPECTATIONS vs REALITY

When Lucas died at 16 by getting shot by a freaking drone during WW3 whilst he was minding his own business and then reawaken as a random Chunin, he thought that he'd have another shot at life to become a legend this time around.

But life reminded him who he was, a nobody, as reality of his predicament settled in.

At first, he was overjoyed to see that he wasn't reincarnated as a newborn baby or a 12-year-old Academy student as he gained a solid base to continue from there.

He already mastered the classics Tree and Water Walking, his Taijutsu and Shuriken/Kunai throwing were decent, and he has a more than average physical conditioning as his speed and strength were above most Civilian or Genins, which was expected from a Chunin, but nowhere near a Jonin or above.

But aside from that ? Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

As in nothing because he has no other special ability or talent. He wasn't from a clan, nor had he an unknown bloodline, or a gamer system that appears out of nowhere like those fanfictions.

Just plain old Lucas – or Kenta now, and his way below average strength in a world where Aliens could summons meteorites and where disaster-level creatures were sealed in newborn baby to use as literal nukes.

He'd panicked for the first week, crying himself to sleep in anxiety as both his death and his potential second incoming death was probably happening faster than he'd anticipated when he woke up here.

Chakra was amazing, he let it travel inside his body from head to toe as a way to calm himself and train his chakra control. It was extremely hard at first, but after 3 months here, it felt like a second nature.

Kenta had tried every possible way to gain immense power.

He tried to call for a system at first, even screaming to the top of his lungs things like "Gamer Panel !" or "Inventory!" to no avail.

And when he finally accepted that it wasn't going to happen after 3 days of screaming commands or thinking any word that could activate it, he opted for something else.

He tried to somehow activates a secret hidden powerful Dojutsu that his body hide but he let it go after a full day of trying.

And then, finally, after he really accepted that he'd stay average if he didn't step up, he tried real things.

First, he started with Genjutsu, but the art had been too elusive and when you considered that, without a Sharingan, this art was pretty much useless, he let it go rather fast.

He was alright with Kunai or Shurikens but didn't have any peculiar talent or secret attack he could use, nor that it would be useful later.

He even learned how to do the Shunshin but without the Sharingan, he couldn't spam it because he felt too dizzy to keep up after 2 combos.

So, he pulled out the big artillery.

Iryojutsu – or Medical Ninjutsu, was the first that came to mind. But after absorbing a 1000 pages on body anatomy and how to target weak points, and seeing that there was 20 more of those to not only learn but religiously memorize just to qualify as a medic, and that he'd have to study it for at least 3 years – a time he didn't have, he knew he was cooked. Even more so when he tackled the next book and he couldn't understand one iota about what was inside.

Iryojutsu was, the best way to describe it, med school from his previous world mixed with Chakra, which didn't make it easier at all, in the contrary, since on top of the normal human body anatomy there was a whole other chakra pathways system to take into consideration.

So, to resume, it was med school boosted with magical testosterone, and they expected you to learn it all in 3 years instead of 10 years of med school.

His respect for Sakura and any other medic character he mocked whilst looking in Naruto skyrocketed as the level of smart and dedication it needed wasn't something he could imitate.

So, now that Iryojutsu was out of the equation, the only hope left him had been Fuinjutsu.

At first, it felt like the best option, with how Fuinjutsu could help you use the Hiraishin or any other crazy idea you could set your mind to, it was the perfect haven for a nobody civilian with no future.

But, as said before, life has the way to punch you in the face and laugh at you as you suffer because, as excited as he was, he couldn't comprehend one bit on how the heck a Storage Seal was working, let alone the big ass Hiraishin.

He had plenty of instruction to help him, as learning how to do a Storage Seal wasn't an extremely well-kept secret. In the contrary, it was one of the only Fuinjutsu seals you can put your hands on without having to steal it from someone or get someone to teach it to you.

As an example, unlike the Storage Seal, Explosive Seal Tags formula was kept secret since it was literally a recipe to create C4 on paper.

But anyway, it was all for nought because, as he spent an entire month, day and night, to understand this stupid seal, he couldn't make a single progress.

What it could gleam from his perspective was that Fuinjutsu was a mix of programming – something he tried one time with his computer genius Sam, and art, and he was bad at both, mixed with Chakra which added another layer of complication of freaking course.

So, he was screwed. Entirely most definitely screwed

It took 2 weeks to finally accept his new predicament as his only options were now learning how to use a weapon and Taijutsu, and unless your name was Guy or Lee and you know how to open the 8 Gates, or you possess a Byakugan to target Chakra pathways, Taijutsu wouldn't make that much of a difference.

Of course he was still practicing his Taijutsu and he'd bought a pair of Chakra weights for his ankles and arms the first week he arrived there, and of course he didn't have Tenten's infamous 'Ninja Shop' that those fanfics all talked about as he'd tried to find it so he could find an excuse to make contact with the main cast but to no avail.

So, he was stuck at Chunin, with no instructor or money to buy a private tutor, no special talent in any important area such as Iryojutsu or Fuinjutsu, and he can't pull out the 8 Gates out of his arse.

He considered stealing the Forbidden Scroll which would happen anywhere in the next 2 months as he knew Naruto and his classmates will graduate soon, but he knew if he tried that, Hiruzen Sarutobi – the Third Hokage, will just see it through his freaking ball of crystal and then summon his ANBU to kill his gut as he tried to escape.

His only hope was to somehow pull a Kekkai Genkai out of his arse with his Elemental Affinity.

That's why he was staring daggers at the blank paper in his hand as if he was trying to summon a spectacular reaction that will probably not appear.

He hoped that at least he got like 2 affinities or even 3, and not something like Earth.

Earth sounded cool in some aspects but it had too much defensive aspects that he can't find any way to make himself Godlike with it.

Fire was meh. If he could find a way to coat his hands in fire without hurting himself then maybe, but that's a big maybe.

Water was alright he guessed. Great offense and defence, and maybe he'd learn a way to materialize water out of thin air like Tobirama Senju did.

Lightning now would maybe be the best option. He could maybe replicate the Raikage's Lightning cloak and save himself from most people with it and even find a way around the Chidori and Raikiri just like Kakashi did in Boruto with his lightning attack thingy. Maybe supercharge his body to get like lightning speed or something like that.

And finally, Wind. He had mixed feelings with Wind as the only thing that Wind was used in the anime was for cutting things, but if he could somehow get it and fly ? Or like take people's oxygen out of their mouth like that crazy mf did in Avatar Korra, then maybe it would be worth it.

Plus, he already knew the first 2 steps of wind, so he'd have no need to get a tutor for it.

And, as if the world had heard him, when he finally sipped his chakra into the paper and he closed his eyes, he felt the paper fell out of his hand as he opened his eyes to see the paper on the ground, sliced in half.

Wind.

"Huh" He muttered to himself, confused as he tried not to be disappointed that he got no bloodline or not even a second Elemental Affinity and, like before, decided to move on and try to thing about the positives.

"Wind, or Air more specifically, is everywhere" He said as he took the paper in his hand and crumbled it before throwing it in the nearby trash can "If I can find a way to fly with this then it will be worth it" He chuckled to himself as an idea came "Or maybe replicate what the Raikage did with his Lightning Cloak and create my own Wind version" And then added "And even a Wind Chidori, one that will be sharper and silent unlike that chirping stupid sound"

"Plus" He finished with a smile "Like I said before, I already know how to perform the first two steps of Wind and can combine it with the Rasengan later on" He frowned as a problem rose "Which I will have to hide from most people because it would draw too much attention. Better be safe until I'm too strong to be messed with or something"

He took a leaf in his hand, putting it on his palm while his other hand covered it and closed his eyes.

The first step was to cut the leaf in half using his Chakra.

He tried to sip his chakra into a thin line to cut it clean. It didn't work of course but the more time and Chakra, he put it in, the more he felt like he was progressing, something he hadn't be able to do for the longest of time.

All in all, he was still in the average zone, with maybe a future later, but he'd work to change that.

He died like a fucking moron, a drone zooming in at the wrong time as it attacked a civilian camp, he was in with his parent, and as he heard the buzzing sound of the drone's wheels, it was too late and he died on the spot.

His high school life already shattered by the war, he'd used his small skills in sprinting to survive the first year the war before he got killed.

He already watched people from the sideline once and he got killed for it, all he wanted this time is to be in the same league as those monsters so that he could have a choice in the matter of survival.

Being a civilian in the Shinobi world would be the worst ideas of his life, even more so since he was already a Chunin and, if he chooses to go away, it will make him a Nuke-nin – or a rogue Shinobi.

It was one a way ticket straight to death with his poor skills in play.

Anyway, as he strolled around the village, he closed his eyes in concentration, trying to somehow cut the leaf by magic as he applied his Chakra on the middle of the leaf but he could feel and see that he was nowhere near any big progress.

He sighed. Times to train he guessed
