Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 - System Level Three

The afternoon sun was moving slow across the cliff-face window when Qalish sat down at the edge of his bed and decided it was time.

Aiden was at the desk by the window, working through the academy's first-week schedule with the steady patience of a young man who had already decided he was going to memorise the paper once and not look at it again. He had not asked about Qalish's morning. He had not asked about Aldous in the corridor. The Blood Oath had earned him every right to ask, and he had chosen not to use any of them.

It did not matter. The work was going to happen inside Inner Space, and inside Inner Space the world's eyes could not follow.

Qalish closed his eyes briefly. Reached into the System.

"Stella."

"Yes, Carrier."

"I need a full briefing on the Level Three update. Everything I deferred when we left New Castle. The Monster Forge. The Inner Space Expansion. The Shop at Max tier. I have been carrying these functions for weeks without examining them properly. That ends tonight."

A small pause. The hologram steadied at the edge of his awareness. The midnight-blue hanfu, the dark hair with the silver pinpricks, the small constant pulse of her presence. She inclined her head once.

"Understood, Carrier. We will go through each in order. Open your status panel first."

He did.

Qalish read it through twice. The picture settled.

— — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — —

"Monster Forge first. Show me everything."

The hologram brightened slightly. Stella's sleeves drifted.

"Monster Forge is a bloodline workshop accessible only through Inner Space. It operates on contracted monsters' bloodlines — reading them, refining them, repairing them, and forging from them. There are four sub-functions available at Level Three. The functions do not draw on Monster Points. They draw on Spirit — your soul-essence reserve — and the cost scales with the rank of the monster being worked on."

The panel surfaced.

[ Function : Monster Forge

Location : Inner Space (workshop zone)

Access : open ]

[ Sub-Functions at Lv.3 :

1. Bloodline Analysis — FREE

Reads the true bloodline of any contracted monster.

Surfaces lineage, latent traits, hidden Rune resonance.

Reading remains private to Carrier.

2. Bloodline Refinement — Spirit cost varies by monster rank

Boosts the purity of an awakened bloodline.

Useful when a monster carries a diluted bloodline echo.

Operates on what already exists — cannot create from zero.

Polishes after stone-based awakening; does not substitute for stones.

3. Bloodline Cleansing — Spirit cost varies by monster rank

Repairs damaged bloodlines.

Operates only on bloodlines, not on Crystal damage.

Applicable to contracted monsters and, in advanced applications,

to bloodline-linked humans who have been damaged at that layer.

4. Skill Forging — Spirit cost varies by monster rank

When a monster's skill reaches its maximum level cap, the System

can upgrade the skill into a more powerful version. The forged

version begins at Level One and develops separately, replacing

the maxed predecessor entirely. ]

Qalish read each sub-function carefully.

"Bloodline Cleansing. You said advanced applications include bloodline-linked humans."

"Yes, Carrier. I phrase it carefully because the principle exists in theory but requires conditions I do not yet have full data on. Your mother and father carry Crystal damage rather than bloodline damage, and Monster Forge cannot reach Crystal directly. But if their damage extends into the bloodline layer beneath the Crystal — which is possible, given the cosmic origin of what they carry — then Cleansing becomes relevant. We will know when we examine them in person."

He filed it. Carefully.

"Skill Forging. Foxy's skills are not yet at cap."

"Correct. Stormcleft, Shadow Bite, Celestial Echo, and Flame Heal all have growth room. Skill Forging is a future tool, not an immediate one. The same applies to Null's Ironbite, Stonehide, and Aegis Lock — currently mid-tier, room to grow."

"Understood. Bloodline Refinement and Cleansing — those are the immediate-use tools."

"For now. Yes."

— — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — —

"Inner Space Expansion. Show me."

The panel shifted.

[ Function : Inner Space Expansion

Access : open

Resource cost : none — passive skill, no MP or Spirit drain ]

[ Configuration at Lv.3 :

Storage capacity : 2 / 2 contract slots (locked to Carrier Level)

Additional slots open at Lv.40, Lv.60, Lv.80.

Time dilation : 1:1 to 1:7

Adjustable ratio between external time and internal time.

At 1:7, one day outside equals seven days inside.

Healing and training within dilation operate at internal rate.

Auto-generated environments : ACTIVE

Each contracted monster receives an environment shaped by their

bloodline reading. Foxy currently rests in a misty forest with

drifting spirit-lights — a shrine-grove archetype shaped by her

Lust Rune resonance. Null currently rests in a deep stone cavern

with crystalline veins — a wyrm-dwelling archetype shaped by

his Pride Rune echo.

Environments are separate sub-pockets. Each monster rests in

the environment its bloodline recognises as home.

Healing sanctuary : activatable per monster

Overlay on a monster's environment that accelerates recovery

from physical damage, fatigue, and bond strain.

Private practice zone : activatable

Separate neutral sub-zone for Beastsoul Physique activation

without leaking signature into the kingdom's detection range.

Critical for hiding the Carrier's hidden Personal Talent. ]

Qalish read through it twice as well.

"Time dilation. One to seven."

"Yes. Inside the chamber, time can run up to seven times the rate outside, at maximum dilation. Inner Space Expansion is a passive skill — no resource cost. The dilation operates freely. You can study, train, refine, recover at a multiplier whenever you choose. The only cost is your own time and attention. Tonight's work does not require dilation, but in the weeks ahead it will become a primary cultivation tool."

"Foxy and Null have their own spaces."

"They do. Shaped by what they are. Foxy's forest will not feel like a System construct to her — it will feel like a place her bloodline recognises. The same for Null's cavern. The System read what they were and answered without instruction."

He held the panel a moment.

"That is not a small thing, Stella."

"No, Carrier. It is not."

— — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — —

"The Shop. At Max tier. What is there."

The panel shifted again.

[ Shop : Max Tier

Existing inventory confirmed :

Crystal Boost Stone (Small) — 80 MP

Crystal Boost Stone (Large) — 200 MP

Evolution Aura Potion (Small) — 300 MP

Evolution Aura Potion (Large) — 600 MP

Bloodline Template — 10,000 MP per template

Gold-to-MP Exchange — 1:1 conversion ratio

System-internal materials (always available, no extraction needed) :

Lesser Salve — for Crystal damage repair, lighter cases

Origin Salve — for Crystal damage repair, severe cases

Healing Salve — general high-tier healing

Max Tier addition : Item Replication function (NEW) ]

He paused on the last line.

"Item Replication. Explain."

Stella's sleeves drifted slow.

"The Shop's Max tier carries a function that exist at Lv.3. You can extract any item or material you possess into the System catalogue. The extraction is free. Once an item is extracted, the Shop can produce unlimited replicas of it, purchasable with Monster Points. The MP cost of each replica is based on the item's rarity."

He took that in.

"So if I extract a Reinforcement Stone."

"The Shop will produce Reinforcement Stones at modest MP cost from that point forward. You will not need to buy them externally again."

"A Mirror-Forged Core."

"Same principle. Higher rarity, higher MP cost per replica, but still purchasable."

"Any item I have."

"Most, yes. There are exceptions."

"Such as."

"Blood Stones cannot be replicated. They are not items the System can fabricate — they are formed naturally from monster bloodlines that died with their traits still latent. The world creates them, not the System. The Shop reflects this limitation and refuses extraction."

"What else."

"Origin-tier materials. Items linked to cosmic-tier events. The System will return a refusal phrase — Replication not possible, origin too rare. The boundary is not clearly mapped. We will encounter it as we encounter such items. For now, treat the exception as: anything Aura or any external shop sells at common-to-rare tier is extractable. Anything beyond that requires testing."

Qalish absorbed it.

"This solves the evolution material problem."

"Yes, Carrier. Evolution materials, reinforcement stones, base ores, common potions, standard supplies — once extracted, never bought again. The Shop will be your supplier from that point forward. Gold spent on materials becomes a one-time investment."

"Blood Stones still need external supply."

"Yes. That problem remains. The Standing Order with Aura remains your primary channel for those."

"And the rest of the Max tier inventory."

A pause.

"The Max tier carries items beyond the existing list. They are visible in the catalogue but the descriptions are gated behind specific carrier development thresholds. Some descriptions will not surface clearly until you reach certain milestones — bond depth, Rune progression, Crystal advancement. I can show you the names. The functions will not read meaningfully tonight."

"Then defer them. Show me when they make sense."

"As you wish, Carrier."

— — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — — —— — —

He sat with the briefing in his hands for a long moment.

The picture had clarified.

Monster Forge for refining what he already had — Null's diluted Pride echo, eventually, when Bloodline Refinement made sense. Bloodline Cleansing for his parents' damage, when the day came that he could reach them in person to examine the bloodline layer beneath the Crystal. Skill Forging for the far future, when Foxy or Null had a maxed skill ready for the next tier. Spirit, not Monster Points, would be the limiting resource for all of it — and Spirit at 50 was a budget that had to be spent carefully.

Inner Space Expansion for training, recovery, hidden practice. Time dilation as a free cultivation multiplier, unlimited by resource cost. Healing sanctuary whenever monsters needed recovery. Private practice zone for Beastsoul work without leaking signature.

The Shop, with Item Replication. Solves the long-term materials problem. Aura remains for Blood Stones only — but for everything else, the System carries his supply chain.

A new shape of cultivator's life. Cleaner than what he had been carrying.
