Surprisingly, nothing happened on their way back to the base. Rin spent the whole time resting.
Thankfully, Shelly woke him up as soon as they entered their settlement. Rin half expected her and the others to carry him inside (again) and cause a panic.
"Let's head to my office first. I want to give you a "full-body checkup" before you put yourself in danger. Knowing you, it won't take long before you try to get yourself killed—or worse."
Reina complained while yawning. She looked tired even after resting the whole way back. Rin did not fault her for her bad mood. But it did feel unfair that she was taking it out on him..
He obediently followed the others toward Reina's office and sat down on the bed.
Reina checked him thoroughly. Her eyes went from Rin's face to her system screen a few times before she made her judgment.
"This is a miracle. I cannot find a single thing wrong with Rin except that he's exhausted. Did you make a deal with the devil to get such incredible luck?"
