Hisoka was a steady person, yet he possessed adventurous genes; two contradictory personality traits that complemented each other within one body.
"Lulu, after today, this house won't belong to us anymore!" Sitting before the vanity, Hisoka looked at the handsome young man in the mirror with his sharp features and straight nose. He couldn't help but sigh with emotion. This life's appearance was far more handsome than his previous one. In fact, he had almost forgotten what he used to look like.
"A house is just a house. As long as I am with Hisoka, anywhere can be our home."
Lulu floated behind Hisoka, carefully combing his long hair while speaking softly through Telepathy.
"I'm just feeling a bit sentimental!" Hisoka replied. "After all, we lived in this house for two years and made quite a few memories. Selling it for 200,000 feels like a bit of a loss."
He had bought this small suburban villa with a garden for 150,000 two years ago. Houses in Viridian City weren't worth much to begin with, let alone those in the suburbs. Fortunately, the real estate market had been doing well these past two years, allowing the price to rise by 50,000.
Lulu beckoned with her small, fair hand, and a silver headband carved with a dragon immediately flew into the Kirlia's grasp. With a flicker of telekinetic power, Hisoka's shoulder length black hair was instantly gathered into a long braid. Then, she slid the hollowed out silver dragon headband over the end, securing it into a clean, crisp ponytail.
"There!" After helping Hisoka tie his ponytail, Lulu stepped aside. She took a red casual tie from a hanger and moved to his front. After tidying a few stray strands of hair, she gently tied the tie for him.
He wore a black high-collared jacket over a snow-white shirt, accented by the red casual tie. He wore matching black canvas trousers and a pair of tall black military boots on his feet.
Black hair, black eyes, a sharp and heroic gaze, and a well-defined face. As the saying goes, "Clothes make the man, just as gold leaf makes the Buddha." At this moment, Hisoka felt his looks had ascended to a whole new level.
His luggage was already prepared: a large spatial folding backpack and a spatial folding chest were sufficient. Hisoka didn't plan on keeping the remaining appliances and furniture; he would simply leave them for the buyer.
He took the Poké Balls containing Kirlia and Sneasel and clipped them to his tactical belt. Walking to the garage, a sleek, pitch-black motorcycle with a sci-fi flair had been waiting in the driveway for a long time.
This was the third generation of the God Bird Motorcycle Series, produced just last year by Silph Heavy Industries Group. One could see a carved eagle head printed on the side of this sci-fi black motorcycle. Its appearance was somewhat similar to a Pidgeot, yet it possessed a unique, spirited charm of its own.
He straddled the motorcycle, donned his helmet, and twisted his right hand. The roar of the engine a sound that could make any man's heart race suddenly erupted! With a thunderous boom, the God Bird motorcycle sped toward the center of Viridian City like a stallion breaking its tether...
The motorcycle came to a stop at the entrance of the Pokémon Center. In an instant, the men and women walking to and fro stopped in their tracks. The men collectively stared at the handsome motorcycle; some of the more sharp-eyed ones recognized it as a third generation God Bird, though they could only shake their heads helplessly at the thought of its damn price.
The women, on the other hand, were drawn to the handsome rider. Standing at 175 centimeters with a tall, sturdy build and a striking face, Hisoka who was only one year away from being considered an adult at sixteen indeed had the capital to win the favor of any woman.
Hisoka was not a registered League Trainer. According to the laws of this world, an ordinary person who wished to travel to other places had to apply for a Travel Permit at a local Pokémon Center.
Because this world operated on municipal autonomy, the Pokémon League acted as the overarching authority but rarely intervened in daily affairs. Unless a major event occurred, the decisions of a city were generally determined through consultations between the Mayor and the local Gym Leader.
League Trainers who possessed a Pokédex did not have to go through such trouble. The Pokédex, which contained their personal information, served as a global passport. With it, trainers could enjoy free food and lodging at any Pokémon Center around the world.
It sounded wonderful, but not everyone was qualified to become a League Trainer. First, the parents of the family had to have a clean record. If your parents had been to prison or had a criminal file, their children were disqualified from registering.
Secondly, starting from the hundredth day after a child's birth, the parents had to pay a so-called "nurturing fee" of 100,000 Poké Dollars annually until the child was twelve years old and received their starter Pokémon. That meant paying for twelve whole years, totaling 1.2 million Poké Dollars.
From this, it was clear that a registered League Trainer had to come from a clean family background and be born into a relatively wealthy household. After all, the Pokémon League wasn't running an orphanage. Without receiving benefits, why would they allow so many registered trainers to receive free medical care, food, and lodging at Pokémon Centers?
