Chapter 41 - Aunt Claudia

Chapter 65 – Aunt Claudia

A red Ferrari parked in front of the mansion entrance. A stunning blonde stepped out, wearing a tight white dress that highlighted her beautiful, curvy body, lips that invited the capital sin.

She walked toward the door. Walter came out to receive her.

Walter came out in his wheelchair. "Aunt Claudia, woo, more beautiful than ever. Turn around so I can admire this goddess of beauty."

Aunt Claudia chuckled: "Stop with the compliments already. How are you, Waltercito?"

Walter asked: "What is that 'cómo estai'?"

Aunt Claudia explained: "Did you forget I lived many years in Chile? That's how people greet each other."

Walter replied: "But aunt, Chileans can't be understood when they talk quietly. I have two Chilean friends here and I understand only half of what they say. What? Chileans here? Introduce them to me—and help push the wheelchair, please!"

Aunt Claudia agreed: "Yes, Waltercito."

Walter corrected: "Don't call me that, I don't like it."

Aunt Claudia amended: "Alright, alright, Walter. You're going to introduce me to your friends."

Walter said: "Yes, aunt, help me with the wheelchair and I'll introduce everyone."

Claudia replied playfully: "Of course, Walterín."

Walter groaned: "Don't call me that, you know I don't like it."

Cristal appeared: "Yes, we know. Oh my God! Come here, I'll take you inside—you sound like a grumpy old man."

Both headed toward the entrance door.

Claudia bumped into something: "Uuuuf sorry, I hit the overpot."

Walter yelped: "Aunt, what did you do? That hurt! And look at the pot!"

After a series of small accidents—she hit the wall four times, the front door three times, the hallway walls of the reception five times, a piece of furniture, and almost dropped Walter when the chair tilted to the side—after a few more bumps and a few more bruises on Walter's legs, hand, and even his elbow, they arrived safe and sound.

Claudia laughed: "Hahahaha looks like there was turbulence on the trip hahahaha!"

Walter grumbled: "Turbulence? More like… you can't drive!" In his mind: Who gave her a driving license? She must've bought it. Yes, that must be it—she bribed someone.

Walter announced: "Ok aunt, we're here. These are my good friends."

Claudia walked toward Titus. "Hola, ¿cómo estai?"

Titus looked confused: "Uh… ah…? I don't understand."

Claudia stood in front of Sarah. "Hola, ¿cómo estai?"

Sarah looked at her strangely: "What???"

She walked toward the twins. Bruno and Cristal instantly followed the Chilean vibe.

Claudia exclaimed: "Chile is the best country!"

Bruno and Cristal echoed enthusiastically: "¡CHILE!"

And the three burst into loud laughter. No one else understood what was happening.

Claudia started: "This is a…"

Bruno finished: "Manjarrrrr!!"

They all laughed hysterically.

Claudia mused: "I feel like eating a Super 8."

Bruno and Cristal's mouths instantly watered. "We miss Super 8 too! It's been forever since we had one!"

More laughter.

Claudia complimented: "Estai súper linda!"

Cristal returned: "And YOU estai estupenda, galla!"

Claudia noticed someone: "And what do we have here…"

In Claudia's mind: Damn… he's handsome. Re‑yumi yumi.

Bruno was suddenly nervous under Claudia's stare.

Claudia asked: "How old are you, handsome?"

Bruno answered politely: "18 years old, ma'am."

Claudia laughed: "Ma'am?? I'm only 20! Just a couple years older than you!" In her mind: Bruno is legal. Completely legal.

Walter interrupted: "Aunt, please stop. This is serious."

Claudia conceded: "Okay, Walter. Now tell me what you want or what you've done. Do you need my help?"

Walter began: "Look aunt, here's the situation: Bruno and Cristal are siblings and their family has lots of businesses—one of them is in the medical field."

Claudia asked: "And what are you getting at, Walter?"

Walter continued: "I'm getting there. Some divisions work with experimental drugs and medicines… also stem cells and experimental therapies. For example, for people who can't walk… well I, I…"

Claudia pressed: "I what? Spit it out already."

Walter confessed: "I signed up so they could test those things on me, aunt."

Claudia's reaction was explosive: "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?"

Walter tried to explain: "What you heard, aunt. I'm a lab guinea pig."

Claudia was horrified: "You could die! And what do I tell your parents if something happens to you? How could you even THINK of doing that?!"

Walter pleaded: "Aunt, listen, listen to me!"

Claudia was adamant: "I don't want to hear it! I'm calling your parents RIGHT NOW!"

Walter grew desperate: "No aunt, you don't understand—aunt—aunt—AUNT!"

All the kids looked at each other, terrified.

At that moment, Walter stood up from the wheelchair, and Claudia froze, mouth wide open. Her smartphone slipped from her hand.

Everyone turned to stone.

In front of her, Walter was standing—firm legs, face glowing with pride and fear.

Claudia stumbled back. "No… this can't be…" "Walter!" His name left her lips like a prayer.

Walter took a step toward her with a trembling smile. "Aunt… I don't need the chair anymore."

He lifted his foot to take another step—a monumental victory—but his still‑new legs trembled violently. His balance broke. His fear spiked.

Claudia reacted instantly. She sprinted, catching him before he hit the floor. Her hug was fierce—powerful—like she was trying to pull his soul back into safety.

Walter held onto her as adrenaline and terror melted in that embrace.

The others added drama to the moment—Sarah and Cristal hugged each other, crying; Bruno turned away, trying to hide the tears that still escaped; even Titus attempted an expression of anguish (not his best acting). But the rest deserved Oscars.

Claudia exclaimed: "I can't believe this, Walter! You're cured!"

She straightened up, serious again. "How do you want me to help you?"

Walter explained: "I need you to call the school administration. Tell them I'll be absent for three months. I know what you're thinking, but it's vital. I need the physiotherapy to be complete. I need you to give me this chance."

Claudia considered: "Three months? That's almost half a semester… What about your exams, your classes? I need you to tell me EXACTLY what I'm supposed to say so they'll approve it."

Walter assured: "The therapy is intensive. All‑day. I have a medical certificate. I just need you to be firm."

Claudia processed the plan. "Alright. I'll call and email. Someone must answer. If not, I'll call the director myself. Give me a minute."

The kids exchanged relieved looks.

Titus spoke to Walter mentally: What if she's calling your parents?

Cristal also picked up the thought. "Why is she taking so long?"

Bruno, concerned, placed a hand on Walter's back. "Relax, Walter. We got what we needed. I don't like seeing you like this."

He stroked Walter's back gently. Walter felt something strange and intense growing inside him.

Walter thought to himself: What's happening to me? Why do I feel this? This isn't right… I don't know, but I like it! What am I saying? He's a man, like me; that's not right. But he makes me feel special. I don't know… Bruno, why?

From behind them, Titus watched quietly and, in his mind, said with cunning: Keep going like that, I'll have you both eating from the palm of my hand. Just wait. He smiled with a small, smug smirk.

Cristal announced: "Let's go, I'm hungry."

All the boys nodded at the same time: "We're hungry too."

Titus suggested: "Hey! We can pick up Sarah so all of us Unwanted can celebrate together."

"Yes," Walter and Bruno confirmed excitedly.

Cristal, with a sarcastic smile, added: "Yes, let's go."

Titus agreed: "Alright. I'll call her so we meet at the restaurant."

Bruno countered: "No, what do you mean? Let's pick her up, she's on the way."

Titus dialed Sarah, and she answered cheerfully: "Hellooo?"

Titus greeted: "Hi, Sarah, how are you?"

Sarah's voice was playful: "Hi, Titus! What a lovely surprise. Tell me, my master, what do you desire?" She giggled flirtatiously.

Titus smiled. "Don't call me that. Do you want to go have pizza with us?"

Sarah teased: "And can't it be just you and me? Hehehe."

Titus replied: "Another time, if you want."

On the other side of the phone, Sarah jumped with joy thinking: He's mine now!

Titus informed: "We'll pick you up in half an hour."

Sarah agreed happily: "Perfect! That gives me time to get ready."

Titus said: "Goodbye, see you soon."

Sarah cooed: "Yes, my love. I really want to see you. Kisses."

Cristal, thanks to her heightened wolf hearing, heard every word of the conversation perfectly, pouting inside to hide her growing anger.

Bruno announced: "Let's go." Then added, "I'll push your wheelchair, Walter."

Walter blushed, but gave him a look that made it very clear that yes… that was exactly what he wanted.

Once together, the five kids headed toward the restaurant. Minutes later, they were seated at the table.

Titus suggested: "What pizza should we order? I want pepperoni and salami with red onion and green pepper."

Walter countered: "A Hawaiian."

Bruno objected: "No, a three‑meat pizza."

The girls chimed in: "Let it be vegetarian."

And while the debate over the order continued, two black SUVs stopped abruptly in front of the restaurant.

Hook: And that silence hid a danger that would soon come to light…
