Chapter 4 - Chapter- 3 [ Mastery]

[A/N- tbh I'm depressed a little, yesterday i had my entrance exam called JEE , and it didn't go as I wanted to. I almost wanted to cry, but my friend took me to his home and i spend some time there and even has dinner there. Than while dropping me home, we had icecream and my mood was much better tbh than.]

Shira held his head, thinking. Was he in the Shadow Garden? But how did he remember that while Subaru didn't? Wait... until now, I haven't seen Subaru, so does that mean instead of him, I was taken here?

Shira slowly got up, left the room, and began to walk through the silent hallways.

*This is supposed to be the looping hallway according to the anime,* Shira thought, looking around while he walked. He stopped at the first door to his right, the canon plot flashing through his mind.

"Oh yeah... Beatrice."

He recalled through his memories of the series.

It wouldn't be a lie to tell her he was *That Person*. Echidna had only created that prophecy to test if Beatrice would eventually use her own free will to choose someone for herself. Having a Great Spirit like Beatrice at his side from the start would be an great advantage.

Shira slowly pushed the door open. Inside, the library it smelled of new books

[ A/N :- smell of new books, is more addictive than any drugs ]

and there sat Beako on her stool, flicking page through her book. She looked up, her butterfly-patterned eyes narrowing.

"Who are you, coming in here without any manners, I suppose?"

[A/N :- ik she is 400 year old meme is coming]

Shira smiled lightly. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him, placing a hand over his heart. "I'm Shira. You must be Beatrice, am I right?"

Beatrice gave him a suspicious look. "How do you know about me, I suppose? Who told you?

"I came to know about you from your mother," Shira said. It was the truth; his knowledge of her existence came directly from the memories of Echidna in the dream castle when she told about her to subaru in the story.

Beatrice's eyes widened. She stumbled back from her stool, staring at him with trembling pupils. "Mo... mother?"

Shira walked forward and squatted down to her level, looking directly into her eyes. "Yeah. Your mother, Echidna. **I am That Person.**

In his mind, it wasn't a lie. From this moment on, he would fulfill that role for her. He would be the one she had waited four centuries for.

Beatrice's hands began to shake, and tears welled up in her eyes. She tried to mutter a response, but the words caught in her throat.

Shira closed the distance and pulled her into a gentle embrace, patting her back.

Beatrice clung to his shirt, her voice just some stutter. "Are you... are you telling the truth?"

Shira smiled. "I am. How could I lie to my Beako?"

At the sound of the nickname, Beatrice broke. She clung to him tightly and began to sob, releasing the weight of four hundred years of loneliness. Shira kept patting her back with genuine affection. Even back in his own world, he had always felt an attachment to her character; he had always wanted a younger sister or a daughter to protect and pamper.

After a while, the sniffing stopped. Shira pulled back slightly, smiling. "Better now?"

Beatrice nodded shyly. She held onto him tightly, terrified that if she let go, she would wake up and find it was all a dream. They shared a quiet, sibling-like moment.

"Beako," Shira said lightly, "can you sense what type of magic I have?"

Beatrice puffed out her chest with a hint of her usual pride. "Of course I can! I am the Great Spirit of Yin!"

Shira grinned. "Then tell me, please."

Beatrice closed her eyes, focusing on the flow of energy within him. After a moment, her brow furrowed. "Shira has an affinity for **Yin** magic... and some other type of energy Beako hasn't seen before. What is it, I suppose?"

Shira stopped walking. *So I do have another power. But what is it? Ki? Cursed Energy? Aura?* He lowered his voice. "Beako... do I have... the Witch's scent?"

"So you know about the scent on you," she replied calmly.

*Shit,* Shira thought. *I'll have to look out for Rem.* But with Beatrice by his side, the burden felt significantly lighter. "Should we go out for a walk, Beako?"

"If that is what Shira wants, then we can, I suppose."

They stepped out of the mansion and into the morning light, where they soon spotted Emilia.

Shira waved as they approached. "Morning, Emilia!"

Emilia looked over and blinked in surprise. "Morning, Shira! Beatrice? You're outside?"

Beatrice turned her head away huffily. "Can I not come out if I wish, I suppose?"

"No, I didn't mean it like that!" Emilia giggled.

Suddenly, her green necklace glowed and Puck emerged. Beatrice's face lit up as she hugged the gray cat spirit. "Puck!"

"Beako!" Puck chirped back.

As the two spirits had their reunion, Shira turned to Emilia. "What were you doing?"

"I was forming contracts with lesser spirits," she explained, smiling as several glowing lights drifted around her.

[A/N- can anyone tell me the ranking of spirits. I literally forgot ]

Shira gave her space and began to think his situation. Usually, reincarnated protagonists get the power they desired most, or something based on the last thing they read. He had been transported by the Witch of Envy, explaining the scent, but Beatrice had sensed something else.

[A/N :- i believe in theory of satella and witch of envy being different entities, what about you all ? ]

He thought of his favorites: *Lookism, The Greatest Estate Developer, JJK, One Piece, Naruto.* The most recent ones were *JJK* and *Lookism*. Since *Lookism* didn't have a supernatural energy system, was it *JJK*? Or perhaps the engineering knowledge from *TGED*? He could innovate, write books, and gain massive influence here.

Suddenly, a blue screen flickered into existence before his eyes. He flinched, but noticed that Emilia, Puck, and Beatrice didn't react. It was invisible to them. He quickly dismissed it, deciding to check it later when he was alone.

A blue-haired maid approached them—Rem. "Master Roswaal has arrived. He requests everyone's presence in the dining room."

Shira thought I fear her more tbh, but having Beako with me now. I think I'll not end up as subaru when he came to mansion.

At the long dining table, Emilia and Shira sat opposite each other. Beatrice sat on Shira's lap like she owned it now, a sight that didn't seem to bother him at all.

[A/N :- a quick note, even any of you as ass thought something unusual about shira and Beatrice, than Congo you are retared. ]

Soon, the door opened and a tall man in jester-like makeup entered: Roswaal L. Mathers.

[A/N :- i still get kenjaku feelings from him remembering how he takes the body of his descendents for his own ]

"It looks like eeeeveryone is here," Roswaal sang, sitting down. Rem and her pink-haired sister, Ram, stood nearby.

Roswaal noticed Beatrice on Shira's lap and a small smirk played on his lips, though he hid it quickly. *Is this in his Gospel?* Shira wondered. *Has the book modified itself because of me?*

"Beatrice," Roswaal drawled, "why are you sitting on our guest's lap?"

Beatrice replied with blunt conviction. "Shira is Betty's **'That Person.'**"

Shock flickered across Puck's face. He flew over, looking at Shira with deep suspicion. "You? *That Person?*"

Shira met his gaze confidently. "Yes. I am."

Technically, he wasn't lying. He had stepped into that role. Puck searched for a lie in Shira's eyes but found none. He was about to press further when Roswaal interrupted.

"Now, now, don't be so haaaard on our guest, Puck. We should eat."

As they ate, Shira spent the meal feeding Beatrice, treating her like a cherished younger sister. Roswaal watched them with an unreadable expression.

[A/N - I'm not good at conversations part, so skipping it, really sorry for that. Just think roswaal told about the situation of country about death of king and candidate for king in country and about Emilia's position]

"So, Shira-kun," Roswaal said, "what do you desire for helping Emilia?"

"I'd like to stay at the mansion temporarily," Shira replied. "And I'll need some funds until I can stand on my own feet."

"Suuuure," Roswaal agreed.

And Ram sneezed.

[A/N :- iconic ram sneeze]

After the meal and a long afternoon of studying the local language in the library with Beatrice, night fell. Shira sat on the edge of his bed in the guest room. Beatrice was already fast asleep on the covers

He took a deep breath and called up the screen. It wasn't a typical RPG system; it didn't list his name or age but spirituality. In the center was the word **MYSTERY**, surrounded by several circles: **Seer, Marauder and Apprentice.

*Is this a LotM power set?* he wondered. *the cowardly trio pathays?*

He noticed a "Free Gift" icon in the corner and clicked it.

Shira looked at his hands and smiled " hehe, journey begins "

[ A/ N :- tbh I was thinking of abandoning this series and stop making novel but when I started writing this i promised myself to complete this and learn a new skill of writing, so I want to fulfill that promise and give you your entertainment while learning a skill for myself.
