The first day of college always feels like a new beginning. New faces. New dreams. And sometimes… new love.
Manav stood near the college gate, adjusting the strap of his bag. His heart was beating faster than usual. It wasn't fear… it was excitement.
"New life starts today," he whispered to himself.
The campus was full of students—some laughing, some nervous, some pretending to be confident.Manav took a deep breath and walked inside.
As he entered the corridor, his eyes suddenly stopped.
She was standing near the notice board.
White kurti… loose hair… and eyes deeply focused on something she was reading.
For a moment, everything else faded.
"Who is she…?" Manav thought.
He didn't know why, but something felt different. Like this moment mattered.
Just then, a group of students rushed past him, and someone accidentally pushed Manav forward.
He stumbled…
…and bumped straight into her.
The papers in her hand fell on the floor.
"I'm so sorry!" Manav quickly bent down to pick them up.
"It's okay," she replied softly.
Their hands touched for a second as they both reached for the same paper.
Manav looked up.
And for the first time… their eyes met.
Time paused.
There was something in her eyes—calm, yet mysterious.
"Here," he said, handing her the papers.
"Thank you," she smiled lightly.
That smile…
It was simple, but it stayed.
"I'm Manav," he said, gathering courage.
She hesitated for a moment, then replied,
"Ananya."
Her voice was as soft as the morning breeze.
Before Manav could say anything more, someone called her from behind.
"Ananya! Come fast, class is starting!"
"I have to go," she said.
"Yeah… sure," Manav nodded.
She turned and walked away.
Manav just stood there, watching her disappear into the crowd.
Something had changed.
He didn't know what it was.
But he knew one thing…
This was not just a normal day.
And she…
was not just a normal girl.
A small smile appeared on his face.
"Interesting," he murmured.
And just like that…
a story had begun.
