Chapter 2 - Big Mistake

Yamraj adjusted himself proudly on his throne and said in a dramatic tone, "Hahaha… Look at me, how dashing I am!"

Then he turned his gaze toward Chitragupta, "Chitragupta."

"Yes, Lord," Chitragupta replied respectfully.

"You have done enough timepass. Let's begin the work," Yamraj said.

At that very moment, Arahan's feet stepped inside the palace. And the entire palace began to tremble violently. The pillars shook. The throne vibrated. The ground cracked slightly.

"Chitragupta! What is happening? Why is everything shaking?" Yamraj frowned.

"I don't have any idea, Prabhu," Chitragupta replied.

But just as suddenly as it began, everything went silent. However, Chitragupta looked slightly disturbed and concerned.

Arahan walked further inside and looked directly at Yamraj. "Wow," he said casually. "You look pretty impressive."

Yamraj smiled proudly upon hearing praise.

But Arahan's next word made his smile vanish, "Your stomach is sticking out quite a bit. Along with killing, maybe keep a little account of dieting too."

Yamraj's smile faded. He looked slightly offended.

"And where is that short fellow who keeps everyone's records? The accountant-type guy?" Arahan asked, looking around.

Chitragupta stepped beside him and said calmly, "On your right."

Arahan turned and looked at him, "Ohhh… Gupta bro! How are you?"

"I am fine," Chitragupta replied. "Tell me about yourself."

Before Arahan could respond, Yamraj spoke in a heavy voice, "Chitragupta… read out the sins of this fellow."

The moment Yamraj ordered the list of his sins.

Arahan exploded in anger, "I haven't committed any sin! I didn't do any fraud, no scams, nothing illegal! My marriage wasn't even done yet, and you people killed me!"

"Why did this happen to me? Damn it! I hadn't even done anything with my future wife! I planned everything for after marriage… after marriage!"

"And you villains killed me before that!"

Chitragupta coughed lightly and said, slightly embarrassed, "Human… What would you have done after marriage?"

Arahan gave him a slow smirk 😏.

Yamraj immediately snapped angrily, "Chitragupta! Stop giving expressions like a shy girl and do some work during office hours!"

Chitragupta quickly opened his massive celestial book and flipped to the page bearing Arahan's name.

He read for a moment, then suddenly froze. His eyes widened. He quietly moved closer to Yamraj and whispered near his ear, "My Lord… a small mistake has happened."

"What mistake?" Yamraj asked sharply.

"I… I seem to have made an error. Due to my failing eyesight… I summoned this ordinary human before his actual time."

The moment Yamraj heard this, his mace slipped from his hand and fell to the ground with a loud clang. It rolled across the floor and stopped near Arahan's feet.

"What?! How could you make such a huge mistake?!" Yamraj's expression turned pale.

He remembered his father's warning, "Never summon a human before their destined time… or the entire Yamlok can face destruction."

Yamraj looked nervously toward Arahan, "Before this fellow realizes our mistake… send him back to his body immediately!"

Chitragupta swallowed, "It is too late, my Lord. His body has already been reduced to ashes."

Yamraj's eyes widened. "How did his body burn so quickly?"

Chitragupta replied, "The vehicle he collided with was leaking petrol. It caught fire shortly after the crash… and the flames consumed his body."

"What has happened… cannot now be undone."

"Now the final decision is in your hands, my Lord. I'm leaving for vacation with Rambha and Urvashi." Chitragupta turned to leave casually.

Before he could take another step, Yamraj grabbed him by the collar.

"Mr. Gupta, what kind of duet-duet plans are you making there?" Arahan asked suspiciously.

"Nothing, human," Chitragupta replied nervously, "You were actually going to survive that accident… but because of our mistake, you were summoned before your destined time."

"Chitragupta!" Yamraj tried to stop him.

But it was too late. Everything had already been revealed.

The moment Arahan heard this, his anger exploded.

Yamraj immediately dismissed all the courtiers, "Everyone, leave!"

The palace quickly emptied.

"You think sending your courtiers away will hide your sin?" Arahan shouted.

He bent down and picked up Yamraj's fallen mace.

"Now I'll fry both of you in oil! I'll cut you into pieces and make biryani out of you! I'll host a buffet dinner for the entire underworld!"

"I'll show you what real hell looks like!"

Yamraj glared at Chitragupta.

"Of all beings, I had to get a fool like you to make this mistake."

Arahan continued furiously, "If something like this happened on Earth, it would be breaking news everywhere!"

"'Yam Mandali Corruption Scandal!'"

"Bharat One would announce a special bulletin!"

"There would be SMS voting competitions!"

"Twitter, YouTube, Instagram — the whole internet would explode!"

"Tell me, is your Yam Mandal ready for media exposure?"

At that very moment, a voice echoed.

"Narayan… Narayan…" Narad Muni appeared there.

"Narad Muni? All entrances are sealed. How did you enter?" Yamraj demanded.

"I came through the backdoor," Narad replied calmly. "I sensed something suspicious here."

"Narad Muni!" Arahan said angrily. "These two have ruined my life!"

"Human, calm down for a moment," Yamraj said.

"How can I calm down?!" Narad Muni stroked his beard thoughtfully.

"Human, the reporting business in the heavens has been slow lately. No interesting news for two years. If I get your story, I will broadcast your injustice across all of Swarglok."

Yamraj's face darkened. "Sipahiyon!" he shouted. Two Yamdoots appeared.

"Take Narad Muni and throw him five or six worlds away."

The soldiers lifted Narad Muni and began carrying him off.

"This is injustice! Oppression!" Narad shouted.

"This is the age of the internet! Wherever you throw me, I'll still broadcast the news! I'll tweet about it!"

Arahan pointed accusingly at Yamraj. "See? He was about to telecast my story, and you're already suppressing it!"

"He's a saint, so he went quietly. But I'm not going to accept this so easily!"

Yamraj finally raised his hand.

"Human… we will make arrangements for you. Until then, you will be treated as a guest in our palace."

"Fine," Arahan finally agreed.

Soon, he was seated comfortably on a luxurious reclining couch inside a grand chamber.

Dozens of beautiful celestial maidens were dancing gracefully around him.

Chitragupta stood nearby holding a large golden plate filled with various fruits.

One stunning maiden gently fed Arahan slices of fruit.

Two others stood on either side, fanning him slowly with decorative fans.

And Yamraj himself was pouring wine into Arahan's cup.

Chitragupta sighed dramatically.

"My Lord, with these powerful hands, I have seen you destroy mighty demons and terrifying asuras. But today, for the first time… I am witnessing you serve wine to a human."

Meanwhile, Arahan was enjoying himself completely.

He had never thrown a party on Earth.

But this party was a hundred thousand times better than anything he could have imagined.

Divine maidens attending to him. They were dancing in front of him, few were giving him body massage.

As the night deepened, Arahan pulled one of the divine maidens closer and adjusted her gently onto his lap.

Outside the chamber, Yamraj and Chitragupta sat with a massive ancient book, flipping through countless pages and muttering intensely while searching for a solution.
