Chapter 16 - CH-16(CLEARING THE RATS)

The atmosphere outside Johnson Corporation was extremely chaotic. Dozens of fired employees were shouting angrily while media reporters continued recording everything live. Cameras flashed nonstop as people pushed each other, trying to hear every single word.

At the center of the crowd stood Mr. Chan with an arrogant expression on his face. He truly believed Steeven would panic under public pressure and beg them to return.

But contrary to his expectations, Steeven calmly walked forward with Bill beside him, holding a microphone in his hand. His expression remained cold and emotionless.

The crowd slowly became silent.

Steeven glanced at everyone before speaking in a calm voice.

"So… you all want an explanation?"

Mr. Chan immediately shouted, "Of course we do! You fired loyal employees without any reason! This company has no right to treat us like this!"

Many workers started supporting him loudly.

"Yes!"

"This is unfair!"

"We deserve justice!"

Hearing them bark like stray dogs, Bill became irritated, but Steeven simply smiled faintly.

"Justice?" he repeated calmly. "Interesting word."

He then snapped his fingers lightly.

The next moment, several staff members brought large files, laptops, and projectors outside the company building.

Seeing this, Mr. Chan suddenly felt nervous.

Steeven looked directly at him.

"Since all of you want justice so badly… then let's reveal the truth in front of everyone."

The giant screen behind him turned on.

Immediately, documents, transaction records, and CCTV screenshots started appearing one after another.

The reporters quickly focused their cameras on the screen.

Steeven spoke coldly.

"Employee Number 47, Mr. Chan. For the past two years, you secretly leaked company information to Anderson Group and received illegal payments in return."

The crowd instantly exploded in shock.

Mr. Chan's face turned pale.

"T-That's fake!"

But before he could continue, another screenshot appeared showing bank transfers directly connected to his account.

Sweat rolled down his forehead.

Steeven continued mercilessly.

"Employee Number 103 manipulated inventory reports and stole company materials worth over two hundred thousand dollars."

"Employee Number 89 intentionally delayed projects to create losses."

"Employee Number 56 accepted bribes from rival companies."

One by one, every single employee's crimes were exposed publicly.

The reporters became excited instantly.

"This is huge!"

"They were sabotaging the company!"

"No wonder the company suffered losses!"

Some of the fired workers started trembling in fear.

A few even tried to quietly escape.

But the police officers immediately blocked their paths.

Steeven's cold voice echoed again.

"You people called yourselves loyal employees… but in reality, you were parasites eating away at this company from the inside."

Bill stared at Steeven with shining eyes.

Even he hadn't expected Steeven to collect this much evidence in such a short time.

Mr. Chan suddenly shouted desperately, "This is all fabricated! He's framing us!"

But at that exact moment, one of the lawyers stepped forward.

"We have already verified all evidence legally. These documents are authentic."

Hearing that, Mr. Chan's legs almost gave out.

The police immediately moved forward.

"You are under arrest for fraud, corruption, data theft, and financial crimes."

"No—wait!"

"This wasn't my idea!"

"Mr. Chan told us to do it!"

The employees instantly started blaming each other.

The entire scene turned ugly within seconds.

Police officers handcuffed them one after another while reporters captured everything live.

Some employees cried.

Some begged.

Some cursed loudly.

But none of it affected Steeven.

He watched everything calmly like a king observing fallen traitors.

Soon, all the corrupt employees were dragged into police vehicles.

Then Steeven turned toward the cameras again.

His expression became colder than before.

"And let me make one thing very clear."

The noisy surroundings instantly became silent again.

Steeven's sharp gaze swept across the crowd.

"If any company thinks they can interfere with Johnson Corporation again using illegal methods…"

"…then I will personally make sure they regret it."

His voice wasn't loud.

But it carried terrifying pressure.

"Anyone involved in corruption, sabotage, or corporate espionage will face lawsuits, criminal charges, and complete blacklisting."

The media reporters gulped nervously.

Even Bill felt chills hearing Steeven speak like this.

At that moment, somewhere inside a luxurious office building, Thomas Anderson was watching the live broadcast on television.

CRASH!

He smashed a wine glass against the wall in rage.

"That bastard!"

His face twisted with fury.

Not only had Steeven destroyed his planted employees, but he had also publicly humiliated them.

His plans were collapsing one after another.

At that moment, he quickly grabbed his phone and called Amili.

Meanwhile, inside the hospital room, Amili was lying on the bed while watching the same news broadcast with a shocked expression.

She never expected Steeven to completely turn the situation around.

Her phone suddenly rang.

The moment she saw Thomas's name, she became nervous.

"H-Hello?"

Thomas roared angrily from the other side.

"What the hell are you doing?! That brat destroyed all our people!"

Amili gritted her teeth.

"How is this my fault?! I'm literally in the hospital right now!"

"I don't care!" Thomas shouted furiously. "You need to do something quickly before that Steeven gains complete control over the company!"

Amili clenched the bedsheet tightly.

"But I can't do anything from here right now…"

Thomas spoke coldly.

"Then think of something. I didn't spend money on you for nothing."

And with that, he cut the call.

Amili stared at the phone angrily.

"That old monster…"

Back at the company, the atmosphere had completely changed.

The employees who were previously scared now looked at Steeven with admiration.

For the first time, they felt hopeful about the company's future.

Bill excitedly walked beside Steeven.

"You seriously destroyed them completely."

Steeven smiled faintly.

"This was only the beginning."

Then he suddenly stopped walking and looked toward David.

"Now that the rats are gone… it's time to rebuild the company properly."

David nodded respectfully.

"What should we do next, sir?"

Steeven answered immediately.

"Start hiring new employees."

Bill blinked in surprise.

"So quickly?"

Steeven smirked.

"The company can't move forward with empty positions."

Soon, hiring announcements spread across Floris City.

Hundreds of people arrived at the company building by afternoon.

Young graduates.

Experienced workers.

Managers.

Analysts.

Everyone wanted to join the now-famous Johnson Corporation.

But hidden among them…

…were also spies sent by rival companies.

A few suspicious individuals quietly observed the company building while pretending to be normal applicants.

One man adjusted his glasses slightly and whispered into his earpiece.

"We've entered successfully."

Another applicant smiled faintly.

"Looks like Anderson Group wasn't the only one interested in this company."

Inside his office, Steeven stood near the giant glass window while looking at the crowd below.

Bill walked beside him.

"Looks like a lot of people came."

Steeven narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Yes…"

"…and not all of them came here for jobs."

Bill's expression changed instantly.

"You mean—"

Steeven smiled calmly.

"The game has only become more interesting."
