Chapter 1
Taehyun-mission
Here i am again, the principals door. Everyone at the academy was lined up in front of the principals office, as I was called to his room which was. . .odd.
"Why is everyone lined up at the door?" I thought to myself trying not to show my nervousness. Was it really that big of a mission thst everyone has to be there? And if so, why assign someone like me on that mission.
I walked to the door and pushed it open as it slowly creaked open. "You're late." The principal spoke, his voice cold and serious, it sent shivers down my spine.
"Sorry, sir." Not. "Nevermind that, I have an important mission for you." The door was still open for everyone to hear which made me even more nervous than I already was.
"I need you to match make two rivals by the end of June." My jaw dropped to the floor unwillingly, giving me a bunch of stares. I quickly fixed my face.
"Excuse my manners sir, I think i miss herad you?" "By the end of June, Taehyun, I need you. Everyone else already has a mission." He said sternly. "I promise you if I had options it wouldn't be you." I heard a bit of snickering behide me.
Rude. I was used to it though, people always laughed or talked behind my back. But I didn't care. They'd never say it too my face, so, it didn't matter.
"But, fortunately. I have someone who can help you on your mission." I felt a but of hope as he mentioned help, I was sure I needed it.
A tall women stepped into the room. She had long chestnut hair and big die eyes. I hadnt seen her around before, knowing this, I assumed she was a high rank.
"Yes! I won't fail this mission after all." I mumbled under my breath, I didn't want anyone to hear how desperate I was.
"She is a newbie here at Amoria. I one need you to teach her some things and two work with her on this mission to get Beomgyu and huening kai together in the span of 4 months." All of that hope i just had shattered in my chest. You could probably see it on my face.
The young women spoke, "I know you're probably disappointed to see a newbie here, but I promise I'll serve my purpose and only be of a help!" She said kindly holding up a thumbs up.
I gave her a forced smile and we bothe were sent out to the earth to begin the mission.
Suddenly we spawned on earth. It felt normal for me but to newbies like her, the feeling of going to earth for the first time could vary. Like nausea, headaches, even sharp pains or nothing at all, which was rare. Now we just had to wait to see how that one had it.
I looked back to see the newbie bent down one hand on her knee the other on her stomach. WAS SHE THROWING UP?! I quickly ran over to her grabbing her shoulder.
"ARE YOU VOMITING?!" I squirmed at the thought, while trying to comfort this newbie. Just great she had a terrible result of teleporting. God save me.
She turned her head face full of confusion. "What no, i'm just...out of breath." You could definitely hear it in her voice. Thank God. I ran my hands through my hair, the mission was off to an amazing start.
"Hey." I heard her speak as I turned my head. I raised my eyebrow, "yes?"
"I never caught your name." Befire I could answer she interrupted, "oh! I'll tell you mind of course! My names Danielle, but many people, or cupids, call me Dani!" Her face was full of joy. Oh how she'd regret ever joining thus school, well it's not like we had a choice but...her personality would definitely change.
I sighed trying to be polite as possible, it wasn't like she was rude or anything it's just... well I guess I was frustrated.
"Yes I heard, I'm Taehyun, a former rank D cupid." Danielle had a confused expression on her face once again. "Sorry? I thought rank D was my position?"
"It is."
"Oh, then, why are you at the lowest aswell?"
"Fell in love with a target." I said bluntly. No reason to lie, she'd find out eventually.
"Aww, that is SO cute! It's like one of those fairytale, eek!" I couldn't figure out if she was being sarcastic or serious but her enthusiasm made me want to vomit.
"Fairytale my ass, if it happens again they'll be consequences. I don't recommend you do it." My voice came out rougher than I expected, I felt the mood in the air change.
"Oh..got it."
"Alright enough chatting lets get to work, do you know how to see where your targets are?" "Ah, i forgot you were teaching me..." her voice trailed off a bit. "Oh right, no, i don't, but...i know how to open the catalog!" I immediately looked around shushing her. "Shh, you don't know who's around, we're on earth remember?"
She grabbed he mouth shushing herself. "Right." She swung her thumb out.
"Here I'll show you." She got awfully close. "Hey back up." I said pushing her slightly.
"Sorry! Just super excited to finally get a mission!" I rolled my eyes showing her how to navigate each target.
"Here look, Beomgyu is still at work, so is huening kai, so all we have to do is get a job there."
"Won't that be hard." A slow eyebrow raised on her face. "Yes it would, if we weren't cupids." I said in a low voice a smirk sliding across my face."
