Chapter 1

My First Fantasy Livestream

The forest was alive in the most annoying way possible. Tall, ancient trees stretched up like they were trying to touch the clouds, their leaves whispering secrets in the gentle breeze. Sunlight barely sneaked through the thick canopy, painting everything in soft, dappled shadows.

The ground was a mushy carpet of damp moss, fallen leaves, and squishy soil that made every step feel like walking on a sponge. The air smelled like fresh rain mixed with earthy mushrooms and something faintly sweet from hidden wildflowers. Birds chirped lazily overhead, and somewhere far off, a squirrel chattered like it was gossiping about the latest forest drama.

It would have been peaceful—if not for the fact that Lucas was standing right in the middle of it, heart pounding like a drum in his chest.

He was sixteen, with messy brown hair that stuck up in every direction from the humidity, wide curious eyes, and a simple tunic and pants that looked like they'd been borrowed from a medieval costume party.

A faint blue screen floated in front of him, glowing softly like a friendly ghost.

It was his Stream System.

"Alright, deep breaths, Lucas," he whispered to himself, rubbing his hands together. "You practiced this in the mirror. You got this. Just be cool, be fun, and don't die on day one of streaming."

He poked the floating panel with a finger.

A small red icon blinked to life.

[Livestream Started]

The system chimed cheerfully, like it was rooting for him.

Lucas cleared his throat, plastered on his biggest, friendliest smile, and waved at the invisible camera floating in front of him.

"Hello friends! Um… is there anyone watching? Hello? Testing, one-two-three!"

On the other side of whatever magical connection linked worlds, the livestream platform called MeTube slowly picked up the signal.

At first, the viewer count was a lonely little number.

1 viewer.

---

Somewhere on Earth, in a cozy apartment cluttered with empty snack bags and glowing computer screens, a guy named Mike was sprawled on his couch, lazily scrolling through MeTube on his phone.

It was late evening, and he'd already binge-watched three episodes of his favorite cooking show.

Bored out of his mind, he kept swiping.

"Come on, give me something good," he muttered.

Then a weird thumbnail popped up:

Fantasy World Livestream – Real Adventure

Mike snorted.

"Another roleplay stream? These kids and their costumes."

But something about the thumbnail looked… off.

Too real. Too alive.

Curiosity got the better of him.

He tapped play.

The video opened on a boy around sixteen, peeking from behind a thick tree trunk, eyes wide as he scanned the area ahead.

The lighting was perfect.

The leaves rustled naturally in the wind.

You could even hear tiny insects buzzing.

Mike leaned forward, eyebrows shooting up.

"Whoa… these graphics are insane. Is this some new VR thing?"

Then the camera panned slowly.

And there it was.

A small green creature with pointy ears, ugly crooked teeth, and skin that looked like it hadn't seen soap in years.

It was digging in the dirt with grubby hands, muttering to itself in garbled grunts.

A goblin.

Mike nearly dropped his phone.

"What the—?!"

He sat bolt upright, eyes glued to the screen.

"No way. That's not CGI. That looks… real."

The viewer count began rising.

47 viewers.

---

Back in the fantasy forest, Lucas noticed the number ticking up on his blue screen.

His face lit up instantly.

"Ah! There is a viewer! Actually wait—more than one now? Wow!"

He waved both hands excitedly at the camera.

"Hello everyone! Welcome to Fantasy World Livestream!"

"I'm Lucas, your friendly neighborhood adventurer."

"Stick around. This is gonna be fun!"

He pointed quietly ahead.

"So tell me viewers… there's a goblin right over there."

"What should we do?"

"Attack it… or run?"

"Drop your votes in chat!"

The chat immediately exploded.

A notification appeared.

[KillMaster99 donated 1 Bonfire 🔥]

Lucas rubbed his chin dramatically.

"Hmmm…"

"Well… looks like Kill It is winning."

"And honestly?"

"I was thinking the same thing."

"After all…"

"I'm gonna get EXP."

He slowly pulled out a rusty dagger.

"Wish me luck chat."

He crouched low and slowly approached the goblin.

Closer…

Closer…

Then—

WHOOSH!

"HYAA!"

But the goblin reacted instantly.

BAM!

Its club slammed into Lucas's shoulder.

Lucas went flying backwards and rolled across the ground.

"OW! OW! OW!"

He sat up rubbing his head.

"Okay… that did NOT go as planned."

The chat exploded.

Back on Earth Mike was laughing hard.

"This kid is hilarious!"

His roommate Alex walked in.

"What's so funny?"

One look at the screen and Alex froze.

"Wait… is that magic?"

---

Back in the forest the goblin charged again.

Lucas quickly stood up.

"Alright chat… round two."

He raised his hand.

"Fireball."

A tiny orb of flame appeared.

The chat froze.

Then—

BOOM!

The fireball blasted forward and hit the goblin.

The creature screamed before collapsing to the ground.

Silence.

Then the system chimed.

[Goblin Defeated]

[+10 EXP]

[Loot: 3 Copper Coins]

Lucas pumped his fist.

"Yes!"

"We did it chat!"

The livestream exploded.

Lucas sighed.

"Well… I already said this 100 times."

"This is not a game."

"This is a real fantasy world."

The chat instantly disagreed.

Name: RealityCheck

I'm still not believing this

Lucas shrugged.

"Believe it or not."

"That's your choice."

"But anyway…"

He stretched his arms.

"That's it for today."

"Thanks for the gifts everyone."

"Let's meet again tomorrow morning."

"Lucas signing off."

He tapped the panel.

[Livestream Ended]

The forest fell silent again.

Lucas stretched his tired body.

"Ahhhh…"

"Not bad for my first stream."

He looked around the quiet forest and smiled slightly.

"Tomorrow will be even better."
