Yamcha flies to Kami's Lookout and finds Garlic Jr. and his subordinates fighting against Gohan and Krillin.
Yamcha lands near Gohan and asks:
"Where is Goku? Did something happen to him?" Yamcha asks.
Gohan then replies:
"Heart disease has struck him, and Mom and I are taking care of him. I think I can easily overcome it." Gohan replies.
Yamcha then whispers:
"It's already changing." Yamcha whispers.
Krillin then says:
"Do you have enough strength to stop these Garlic Jr. subordinates? I'm only here because I can defeat at least one of them." Krillin says.
Yamcha then says confidently:
"I didn't train on planets with 100 times increased gravity to have my power level below that of Frieza in his final form. Don't worry, I'll take care of Garlic Jr. You and Gohan can easily defeat those subordinates." Yamcha says.
Garlic Jr. then looks at Yamcha and mocks him:
"I was expecting someone truly powerful, not a loser who lost to old Kami." Garlic Jr mocks.
Yamcha then replies:
"Can your immortality withstand being blown to pieces? I'm going to test your immortality now." Yamcha replies.
Yamcha advances towards Garlic Jr. and finishes him off with the Atomic Punch.
Garlic Jr.'s body was atomically disintegrated, leaving his subordinates stunned.
Yamcha turns to Garlic Jr.'s subordinates and says:
"He's immortal, you're not. Gohan, stop holding back and kill those guys!"Yamcha says.
Gohan unleashes a portion of his power and eliminates Garlic Jr.'s subordinates in a few seconds with an energy blast, surprising Krillin.
Krillin then says, surprised:
"Wow! You're really strong, Gohan!" Krillin says.
With Garlic Jr.'s subordinates eliminated, as he partially recovers from Yamcha's attack, he senses Gohan's power and it frightens him.
Garlic Jr. then plays his last card: The Dead Zone.
A portal opens, revealing demons in the Dead Zone, and Garlic Jr., in his moment of glory, declares:
"This is the end for you! You will be taken to the Dead Zone along with me! I will punish you for the rest of your lives! Hahaha!!!!" Garlic Jr declares.
Yamcha then shouts:
"Enough with the Shakespearean show! The fun is over! Kaioken x20!!!" Yamcha shouts.
Yamcha unleashes half of his power and with a simple Ki attack throws Garlic Jr. into the Dead Zone.
His last words on Earth were:
"Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Garlic Jr says.
The Dead Zone closes in, and Gohan and Krillin look at Yamcha in astonishment.
Gohan then says:
"You saved Earth, Yamcha! You've really gotten strong, which is impressive." Gohan says.
Krillin, still impressed by what happened, says:
"You saved Earth, man. That's something Goku often does, and you did it like you were the one saving Earth." Krillin says.
Yamcha transforms back and asks:
"Where are Kami and Mr. Popo?" Yamcha asks.
Krillin then points to a jar, and Yamcha quickly uses his speed to pull Kami and Mr. Popo out of it.
Kami then greets:
"Thank you for removing me and Mr. Popo from the jar." Kami greets.
Yamcha then says:
"For Earth to return to normal, you need to release Sacred Water onto the planet; otherwise, Earth will remain in chaos." Yamcha says.
Kami agrees and says:
"Just pour in the Sacred Water and it will do the work." Kami says.
Yamcha uses his speed, grabs the Sacred Water, descends to the bottom of Kami's Lookout, and throws the Sacred Water into the air, thus spreading it across the planet.
Yamcha reappears and says:
"It's done, now we just have to wait for the situation to return to normal." Yamcha says.
Krillin then asks:
"Who did you train with during those three years?" Krillin asks.
Yamcha then replies:
"During those three months I spent in space, I trained on planets with gravity and had Puar as my training partner." Yamcha replies.
The answer left Krillin speechless; it was Yamcha's pet that made him so strong.
Krillin then says:
"I'm going to train with Oolong to see if it works, since it didn't work with Master Roshi." Krillin says.
Yamcha then gives a hint:
"You can go to Capsule Corporation and ask Dr. Briefs to go to space in the spaceship; I've already selected the planets that have greater gravity than Earth." Yamcha says.
After that hint, Krillin says confidently:
"Three months will be enough time to avoid being killed by Androids 17 and 18. I may not be the strongest, but at least I can delay the androids with my techniques. I'm sure there's no one stronger than Goku in the universe. If anything happens to me, King Kai will let you know." Krillin says.
Yamcha then asks Gohan:
"Where is Piccolo? Has he also been affected by the heart disease?" Yamcha asks.
Gohan then replies sadly:
"Mr. Piccolo was also affected by the illness; Mom is taking care of them." Gohan replies.
Yamcha then says:
"Don't worry Gohan, if Piccolo dies, I know where New Namek is and we can revive Piccolo and his father there if they die with the Dragon Balls of New Namek." Yamcha says.
Gohan then says:
"Thank you very much, Mr. Yamcha!" Gohan says.
Yamcha then says:
"Well, I'm going back to West City, now I expect to see you on May 12th and you'll have a surprise." Yamcha says.
After that, Yamcha, Gohan, and Krillin fly back to Earth.

Yamcha returns to his apartment and finds Puar huddled in bed under a blanket, scared.
Puar then asks:
"Yamcha, did you defeat the guy who was causing chaos in West City?" Puar asks.
Yamcha chuckles slightly and then replies:
"I managed to defeat the guy who was causing chaos on the planet. He was a sort of more serious Emperor Pilaf. Still, he wasn't as powerful a villain as Frieza was." Yamcha replies.
Puar gets out from under the blanket and says:
"Traveling to space gave him a new mindset, different from what he had before; Now you are much more focused." Puar says.
Yamcha then says:
"That's nothing, I never really tried hard enough, I always tried old methods, and that's why I fell far behind Goku and Vegeta. Now I have a chance to fight on equal terms." Yamcha says.
Puar then asks:
"Are you going to get revenge on Vegeta for what happened almost five years ago?" Puar asks.
Yamcha then replies:
"A Saiyan from the Desert vs. Saiyan Royalty , we'll see how much stronger Vegeta has become during these three years and what if he managed to transform into a Super Saiyan during that time. We'll see on May 12th who is the strongest." Yamcha replies.
Puar then says:
"We need to pay the bills, otherwise the electricity will be cut off, so focus on that for now." Puar says.
Yamcha then says:
"I think in less than four months we'll be moving out of this apartment into a mansion. I'm going to participate in every martial arts tournament there is on Earth, whether they're legal or not." Yamcha says.
Puar then says:
"That's fine, but don't go wasting the money you're going to earn on women; that's how you spent a good portion of the money you earned from the baseball team." Puar says.
Yamcha then says:
"I've already learned from my mistakes. No women for now, until the androids arrive." Yamcha says.
