The second we hit the hallway outside the seal chamber, the tower started coming apart around us. Cracks ripped through the walls while dust poured from the ceiling hard enough to turn the air gray, and somewhere deep below us something roared loud enough that I felt it in my chest before I actually heard it.
Reika immediately moved to the front of the group with her ears flattened tight against her head while Celeste stayed close behind me, one hand already glowing with lightning mana every time the corridor ahead flickered gold.
"Faster," Reika warned after another roar echoed upward through the tower. "There's movement below us now. A lot of movement."
"I'm carrying the ancient dragon princess equivalent of a magical pipe bomb right now," I shot back while tightening my grip on the unconscious girl in my arms. "I'm going as fast as I can."
