Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 3

The passage was not straight.

It followed no logic.

No form.

The walls seemed to shift slightly… as if the place adapted to whoever walked through it.

Antony moved in silence.

Not out of caution.

Out of focus.

Every step brought him closer to something.

He didn't know what.

But he felt it.

And then…

the space opened.

A chamber.

Vast.

Ancient.

Impossible.

It was not built.

It was carved into something older than stone itself.

At the center…

a figure.

Back turned.

Massive.

Antony did not raise his sword.

Not yet.

"I knew you would come," the voice said.

Deep. Heavy. Carrying something that wasn't threat… but wasn't calm either.

The figure turned.

Arlo.

Their eyes met.

There was no surprise.

Only recognition.

"You felt it too," Arlo continued,

"didn't you?"

Antony gave a slight nod.

"I don't know what this is… but it's not human."

"No," Arlo replied,

"and that's the only thing that matters."

A sound.

Behind them.

Antony turned.

Another presence.

Light. Precise.

A woman stepped out of the shadows, sword in hand.

Light hair.

Steady gaze.

Ainara.

"You're late," she said, emotionless.

"This already started."

"Who are you?" Antony asked.

"Someone who doesn't wait for explanations," she replied,

"only results."

Another impact.

Heavy. Controlled.

Vahram emerged from the other side of the chamber, crossing his arms.

"If this is a trap…" he said,

"it's not well designed."

"It's not a trap," another voice intervened.

Calm. Precise.

Two more figures.

Osiris, advancing with imposing presence.

Yaotl, observing everything with eyes that seemed to see beyond the visible.

"It's a judgment," Yaotl said.

Silence.

Antony looked at them all.

One by one.

Different origins.

Different forms.

Same presence.

"They brought us here," he said finally,

"not for what we are…"

He looked around.

"But for what's coming."

No one disagreed.

Arlo stepped forward.

"Then let's not waste time."

Ainara rotated her sword.

"Agreed."

Vahram nodded.

Osiris remained silent.

Yaotl closed his eyes for a brief moment.

"The first threshold is already open."

They all looked ahead.

The wall…

broke.

Not slowly.

Not gradually.

It opened as if the world itself were splitting apart.

Light.

Heat.

Wind.

Antony adjusted his stance.

"Then let's go."

And this time…

he was not alone.
