Leon ran to her and pulled her into a hug.
"I am... going to be a father... I..."
"Leo..." Mira spoke; that was the first time he had heard her call him by name.
"I am here..." Leon grabbed her hand with a gesture of promise. Mira was still, but he could sense that she was anxious, afraid.
"Mira... can we have her...." he looked at her, and hot tears rolled down her face. She was still and didn't know how to respond.
"Mira... Let's get married... Please..." Leon said, dropping to his knees with his fingers pointing to heaven, he continued;
"Mira… I saw you for the first time in that enchanting café, and I… I fell in love. At first, I didn't even understand what I was feeling. I kept looking at you… smiling for no reason, blushing… It had never happened to me before. And then… as I spent more time with you… I became sure of it. I am in love with you. Truly, deeply. I want to spend my whole life with you…"
"Marrying you… it's been my only dream for the past month. And I swear… this proposal has nothing to do with the child. I… if you don't want to keep—"
His words broke off, his eyes filling with tears.
He took a moment of silence.
Mira gently tugged at his sleeve and nodded, a soft smile forming on her lips.
For a moment, Leon couldn't believe it.
He hugged her tightly; his happiness had no limits. He carried her straight to the marriage council and got a marriage certificate. He didn't waste a single moment, let her think further, and change her mind. He posted the marriage certificate announcing it to the world that Leon Deskmore is taken... but he blurred her photo. He hugged her and swore, I won't let you regret ever in your life, choosing and believing me. Trust me, I will always protect you.
They rode back to Deskmore Mansion, where the entire family was already waiting for them.
Leon stepped in with Mira beside him, all eyes turned toward her.
"This is Mira." Leon was introducing her like a peacock spreading his wings... too proud!!
His mother was the first to move forward. Her expression softened instantly, and she pulled Mira into a warm, reassuring embrace.
"Welcome, dear," she said gently.
The rest of the family followed, greeting Mira with quiet warmth—smiles, nods.
After some time, Mira was guided upstairs to Leon's room.
Once she was gone, his mother turned to him with a thoughtful smile.
"Leo… Laya told me everything." Her eyes were calm but knowing.
"What happened… was your fault."
There was no anger in her tone—only truth.
"But I'm happy," she continued, her voice softening slightly, "that you're taking responsibility and move forward. Mira seems like a very good girl."
A brief pause followed.
"So… what about your wedding?
Leon exhaled slowly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Mom… it's too sudden for her. I know she accepted me, but part of the reason…" He hesitated briefly. "Part of it is because of the child."
A silence followed, but it wasn't uncomfortable.
"I think we should talk to her first," he continued. "And whatever the decision is… it should be completely hers."
His mother's eyes softened with pride.
"I'm happy to see this, Leo… you're becoming a great partner."
His father gave a light chuckle.
"Yes, Leo… the Deskmore family has never had a tradition of upsetting their wives."
A small smile appeared on Leon's lips.
"Yes, Dad… noted."
