"Sit down," Azaria said with a wide smile she couldn't contain and a bit of a bounce in her steps. "Both of you. And brace yourselves."
Genevieve lowered herself onto the couch, slowly eying her daughter's giddy behaviour. She found it interesting, to say the least. Rowan dropped beside her with significantly less grace and he already looked suspicious enough for both of them.
"Something… crazy happened over the last two weeks," Azaria began, standing in front of them both, and wrung out her hands. "And I didn't tell either of you because I wanted to be sure first."
Genevieve's hand flew to her chest suddenly and she gasped softly. "Is it your boss?" she asked. "Is it about him liking you?"
Rowan's head snapped toward her. "What boss?" He looked between them, his brow pulling together. "Who? The VP?" Then his eyes went wide. "Does Idris like you? OH MY GOD IS IT THEON? I made a joke one time, Zee! Is it him?"
