Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Unlocking the Origin of Pokémon

Gray and Nano were both stunned.

They hadn't expected that Gar could directly breed Demons.

Gray gasped, quickly pulled Nano behind him.

Nano was also in a daze.

Half of it was from being scared by the suddenly appearing Demon arm, and the other half was from being shocked by Gar's Magic.

As the person who had awakened this Magic and had been constantly forced by Niji · Nijan to accelerate the Demon Egg, Nano was very clear about the difficulty involved.

Almost the entire day, apart from a few hours of sleep and recovering Magic power.

The remaining time was spent being forced by Niji · Nijan to accelerate the Demon Egg.

Even so, it would take several months to complete the hatching.

Nano had lived under such torment for a long time.

However, when Gar performed it, it only took a few seconds for the Demon Egg to successfully hatch.

In Nano's small world view.

Gar should be the strongest Magician in the world.

Just like how Lyon previously thought Ur was the strongest Magician in the world....

At this moment.

Although the Demon's arm had broken through the Demon Egg, there was no further movement.

Instead, sounds of absorption and swallowing were heard, and all the nutrient solution and Magic power within the Demon Egg were being absorbed by the Demon.

The Demon Egg also quickly shrunk, and a Demon outline nearly eight meters tall gradually appeared, its aura becoming stronger and stronger, and more and more evil.

But Gar made no move, just watching calmly:

"Dying struggle."

The Demon Egg was completely absorbed, shriveled, and shattered, and the Demon revealed a ferocious face, although no expression could be seen.

But both Gray and Nano could feel that the Demon's mood was not good.

Thinking about it, that's understandable.

You are just a newborn Demon, dreaming of growing up happily and safely.

But in front of you stands a human Magician who can easily kill you.

It would be strange if you could be in a good mood.

"Huma....n...."

The Demon's solemn, hoarse voice sounded, its nearly eight-meter-tall body nervously on guard.

It was as if the small ant in front of it was the Demon, and it was the fragile human.

Gar heard the Demon's voice and nodded:

"It seems its intelligence is not low."

"And.... it's not a Demon created by Zeref."

Demons created by Zeref, in addition to their own Demon power, more or less carried the aura of Zeref's Black Magic.

But this Demon in front of him did not.

It was probably a Demon Egg summoned from the Demon World by someone using forbidden Magic, which Niji · Nijan obtained by chance.

However, this kind of Demon was exactly to Gar's liking.

There was still a big difference between artificial Demons and naturally born Demons.

Then Gar raised the staff in his hand, and the pupils of the nearly eight-meter-tall Demon shrank sharply.

Boom—!!!

Violent Demon power erupted, ferocious claws gathered energy, aimed at Gar.

But Gar just raised his staff and lightly pointed.

The next second.

Everything fell silent.

In the area in front of Gar.

The Demon's movements, the condensed Magic power, and the restless air were like a static three-dimensional painting.

Only the Demon's eyes could see everything in front of it.

But its thoughts had stopped.

The Demon just watched the human in front of it summon a ghostly little purple fatty.

This little purple fatty opened its big mouth, getting bigger and bigger.... bigger and bigger....

Then....

It approached itself.

Its vision fell into darkness.

Gengar burped, shrunk back to its normal size, and patted its belly.

Looking as if to say 'praise me', Gar praised it and said:

"Gengar."

"Clean up the battlefield."

Gengar nodded:

"Jie—"

Then several clones split off from its body, penetrating the walls and scattering, starting to search the Guild.

The Demon swallowed by Gengar was rapidly decomposed in the alternate dimension.

A large amount of its origin poured into the system, starting to repair various aspects.

This time, Gar saved tens of thousands of points, preparing to check the system changes later.

Gar withdrew his gaze and looked at Nano:

"Nano, do you know which City your home is in?"

Nano heard Gar's question and quickly said:

"My home is in Capas City."

"It's from here...."

Nano was speechless for a moment because she didn't know where this was either.

Gar, however, nodded and said:

"Capas City is three stops away from here."

Gar looked up at the various clocks on the wall of the Noisy Second Hand Guild and said:

"If we send you back, you can still catch the train in the afternoon."

The Ishgar Continent North here is sparsely populated, and a distance of three stops was enough for Gar's departing train to take until afternoon to arrive.

Gar looked at the unconscious members of the Noisy Second Hand Guild:

"I'll deal with these people first."

Then Gar used spatial Magic, taking the members of the Noisy Second Hand Guild and the body of the Guild Master, Niji · Nijan, and teleporting to the nearest City.

Without Niji · Nijan, the Magician, the remaining Guild members were just ordinary people, unable to cause any trouble.

Gar directly threw these people into the City's security office and didn't bother with them anymore.

Then he teleported back, waited a while for Gengar and its clones to finish their search.

Gar activated Magic, taking Gray and Nano and leaving here.

Capas City.

In a house near the center of the City.

From this independent house, one could see that the family's standard of living was quite good.

But inside....

It was completely silent and desolate.

The walls were covered with photos of Nano, a young man with a full beard was looking at Nano's photos and drinking, with a look of decadence, and beside the wine bottle were scattered stacks and stacks of missing person posters.

And the young mistress was holding Nano's photo in a daze, lying on the sofa.

Creak—

The sound of the door opening was heard.

A small head peeked in, looking at the man holding the wine bottle at the dining table not far away, Nano tentatively called out:

"Dad?"

Clang!

The sound of the wine bottle falling to the ground was heard.

The two looked at the door in disbelief, couldn't help but cry with joy, rushed over, and tightly hugged the small figure:

"Nano!!!"

In the restaurant in the center of the City.

At the window seat on the second floor.

Gray was holding a plate in one hand and a spoon in the other, eating heartily.

Soon, plate after plate of fried rice was wiped clean.

Meanwhile, Gar was browsing the system.

Checking the latest changes.

There wasn't much added to the exchange space, but a Pokémon origin category was opened.

Clicking into it, one could see the origins of various Pokémon.

Miniature 3D statues of each Pokémon were displayed, with the points required for activation marked.

Approximately two hundred were lit up.

The rest were all black, indicating they were unavailable.

Gar sensed them with his mind and discovered.

These origins.....

He seemed to be able to perform.... Magic reception?
