Chapter 1: The Misty Identity)
The girl stood at the corner of a busy city street. She was wearing a simple blue kamiz, but the depth in her eyes was anything but ordinary. People all around were rushing by, each preoccupied with their own lives, no one having a second to spare for another. Yet, my eyes seemed to freeze right there.
I had been observing her for a long while. She was staring strangely at the other side of the road, as if she were waiting for someone who wasn't there. Her face bore a trace of melancholy and an unknown mystery.
Gathering my courage, I stepped forward. Clearing my throat slightly, I asked:
— "Are you looking for someone?"
The girl slowly turned her gaze toward me. Her look was so cold that for a moment, it felt as if time had stopped. She didn't answer. After a brief silence, she only let out a long sigh.
I spoke again:
— "Can I help you with anything?"
This time, she spoke in an incredibly faint voice:
— "Help? No one can help someone who has lost themselves."
With that, she began to merge into the crowd. I called out from behind, wanting to know:
— "Could I know your name?"
From a distance, a single short word drifted back— "Subha."
That was it. Within moments, she vanished into the throng of people. I stood there, stunned. In this city, I encounter so many people every day, but there was something different about this girl, 'Subha.' A strange enchantment and a wealth of mystery. Will I ever see her again?
