Chapter 36 - C36.Green Angel!

Although Audrey was startled that she could imitate Mozo's voice so perfectly, what troubled her more was trying to understand what was happening.

What was this half-faced monster trying to do?

At the same time, she noticed something else.

The moment she spoke Mozo's line, the green-haired creature's breathing grew noticeably heavier.

Was he targeting Mozo?

Because of his hidden lineage? His exceptional bloodline?

But Audrey quickly dismissed that thought.

Because when Tomb suddenly spoke,

"A Tarot card, the Fool? Friend, you might want to pick another name. That one's unlucky."

the green-haired monster immediately let out a furious roar.

With a single gesture, he detonated Tomb's head from a distance.

Blood and brain matter exploded outward, splattering across everyone present.

Even Audrey felt warm fragments land on her face.

The sheer brutality of the scene, along with that sickening warmth, completely stunned her.

She was an extraordinary.

She had faced danger before.

But nothing like this.

Not her.

Not most of the people here.

Yet the gathering did not stop because of their fear.

Audrey's voice rang out again.

"That is, before you joined, our gathering had also invited others…"

Halfway through speaking, her body suddenly trembled violently.

Just moments ago, Tomb had died for trying to stop Mozo from using the name "Fool."

Now she was speaking.

Did that mean she would die too?

In an instant, Audrey felt the world spin around her.

If not for that strange force holding her in place, she would have collapsed on the spot.

Death, especially after witnessing someone die so brutally up close, was enough to instill overwhelming terror in anyone, especially those who could not resist.

Fortunately, perhaps because Tomb's death had already vented some of the monster's anger, or perhaps because the creature still needed them to continue the story, Audrey did not die.

Instead, Vodka continued speaking in place of the dead Tomb, just as Audrey had done earlier.

When everything was over, the green-haired monster swept his vicious gaze across everyone present.

After a long silence, he stroked his chin and muttered to himself,

"Lucky… heh. Truly lucky."

Then, clutching his head, he continued in confusion,

"But I never interfered with him. Why would he call himself the Fool? He wasn't even supposed to be my sacrifice!"

Mozo's appearance had been completely unexpected.

The Fool he had prepared was another local extraordinary.

If he had not been reviewing his arrangements as usual and noticed the anomaly, he might never have realized that a newcomer had joined the gathering and claimed the title of Fool from the very beginning.

Such a coincidence had caught his attention.

At first, he suspected that that old bastard had tracked him down, which was why he carefully timed everything and controlled everyone except Mozo tonight to reenact the scene.

But his confusion did not last long.

Suddenly, the green-haired monster's expression shifted from puzzlement to delight.

Raising his hand toward the sky, he exclaimed,

"No matter. Just a mortal. In that case, your luck is mine as well!"

"Fate has decreed it. You cannot escape, and I cannot refuse!"

"Since you call yourself the Fool, then you shall be my final sacrifice!"

As he spoke, he excitedly pulled out twenty one cards and displayed them before everyone like a child showing off a prized possession.

"Look. Thanks to all of you, my masterpiece is now perfect!"

Audrey stole a glance at the cards.

They were a Tarot deck.

But not an ordinary one.

There was something indescribable about them.

At that moment, realization struck her.

The reason those people had used Tarot card names.

The reason they had all died.

It was all because of this monster.

They had been nothing more than pieces on a board.

The moment she understood, Audrey felt as if she had fallen into an icy abyss.

This was not bad luck.

She had been part of this terrifying ritual from the very beginning.

Which meant her chances of survival were almost nonexistent.

The others were not fools either.

They too realized the truth.

One by one, they lowered their heads in despair.

Meanwhile, after showing off the cards, the green-haired monster carefully put them away.

Then he picked up a piece of flesh from Tomb's shattered head and pointed toward the corpse.

The next moment, under everyone's horrified gaze, Tomb, who no longer even had a head, slowly stood up.

Grotesque flesh began to grow from his severed neck.

Writhing. Expanding.

Until finally, a head grew back.

But it was not truly his.

Only half of it retained his original face.

The other half was covered in disgusting green hair, just like the monster.

The resurrected Tomb moved his new head slightly, then grinned and looked at the original creature.

The two monsters stared at each other.

Then burst into identical laughter.

"I am you, and you are me."

"We are great beings."

"We are all part of the exalted Green Angel."

The madness of the scene sent chills down everyone's spine.

Fortunately, most of them were low level figures with no access to high level mystical knowledge.

Otherwise, the moment they heard the words Green Angel, some of them might have died on the spot from sheer terror.

Because the Green Angel was a Sequence Two existence of the Life Pathway.

At that moment, a faint but continuous tremor spread beneath their feet.

An earthquake.

Both Green Angels immediately stopped laughing.

Stroking their chins in unison, they said,

"Have those fools started?"

"How laughable. Wasting their lives for so called nations and organizations."

"Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous."

Their overlapping voices echoed through the room, eerie and maddening.

In such an atmosphere, even the earthquake no longer seemed important.

But what truly unsettled everyone was something else.

These two monsters clearly had something wrong with their minds.

If everything before had only been twisted madness, then after the brief tremor, they suddenly sat down cross legged, facing each other like children.

And began playing rock paper scissors.

Again.

And again.

And again.

They continued for an entire day and night.
