The words I have come to reclaim everything from you carried no power of their own.
It was merely a simple sentence, spoken by nothing more than a Sequence Ten.
Yet in the ears of the Green Angel, who had long since descended into madness, it struck like a thunderclap.
The impact left him dizzy and reeling.
A mighty Sequence Two Angel actually staggered backward in terror, retreating several steps before raising a trembling finger toward Mozo.
"Impossible! Impossible! Ah, I know now! I know!"
His face twisted in panic.
"You're the Sun King, aren't you?! You're deceiving me! That's it! It has to be!"
Looking at the Green Angel, who refused to accept reality, Mozo regarded him with pity.
"Facts do not change according to your wishes."
"Of course, I have no intention of forcing you to accept them."
"My purpose here is simply to reclaim everything that never belonged to you."
As he spoke, Mozo raised a hand and pointed at the Green Angel.
"We are the eternal spectators who dwell behind the curtain."
"We observe the course of history."
"We remember all greatness and all insignificance."
The moment those words were spoken, the Green Angel stumbled and collapsed to the ground.
Those were the vows he had sworn when he joined the Formless Court.
The very core of the Contract of Ten.
As the Angel fell, the look in Mozo's eyes became even colder.
There was disdain.
Disdain that an Angel could become so pathetic.
And there was pity.
Pity for someone who had brought ruin upon himself.
Meanwhile, the two young women could only stare in shock.
The Green Angel's divine aura still blazed throughout the hall.
They themselves could not even rise to their feet beneath its pressure.
Yet Mozo was not only standing before a high-ranking Angel.
He had somehow forced that Angel into such a miserable state.
What exactly was the Contract of Ten?
"We shall forever witness the great kings, the supreme gods, the saints, and the monarchs."
"We shall forever record them."
The Green Angel's expression grew increasingly terrified.
His lips trembled uncontrollably.
Yet some final spark of defiance still remained.
With a furious roar, he forced himself back to his feet.
"Stop!"
"I command you to stop!"
The full majesty and power of an Angel exploded toward Mozo without restraint.
The sheer force shattered the ground around him.
Cracks spread through the stone floor.
Yet Mozo remained completely unharmed.
The Contract of Ten protected him.
"The epics of heroes are our pursuit."
"The legends of saints are our desire."
"The dramas, triumphs, and longings of kings and gods are our treasured collection."
Seeing that Mozo continued reciting the oath uninterrupted, the Green Angel finally realized something.
He could not stop him.
Not by force.
Not by authority.
Not by divine power.
For the first time, the mighty Angel turned and fled.
He had only flown a few steps before an overwhelming force seized him and slammed him back to the ground.
The impact shook the entire hall.
"The rise of empires shall be witnessed by us."
"The fall of empires shall likewise be witnessed by us."
The Green Angel struggled back to his feet.
Howling in panic, he staggered toward the staircase.
But the instant he caught sight of it, the same invisible force dragged him backward once more.
His body scraped across the floor.
Deep gouges appeared in the stone.
Blood and torn flesh stained the ground behind him.
It changed nothing.
"We do not focus solely upon the glory of the great."
"The joys and sorrows of ordinary mortals are equally worthy of observation and understanding."
"For even within the insignificant can be found unimaginable greatness."
Dragged back once again, the Green Angel clutched both hands over his ears.
It was a pitiful and useless attempt to escape his fate.
"But remember."
"We are witnesses to all things."
"Yet we are merely spectators."
"A spectator may cheer for a magnificent performance."
"But a spectator must remain in their proper place."
Even with his ears covered, the words continued invading his mind.
Kneeling before Mozo, the Green Angel desperately covered his ears while pleading in despair.
"Please..."
"Please stop."
"Don't continue."
"I'm begging you."
"Please don't keep going!"
It was the sincere plea of an Angel.
But no one was moved by it.
Mistakes carried consequences.
And consequences had to be paid.
Without the slightest trace of mercy, Mozo continued with the final crucial section of the Contract.
"When a spectator becomes dissatisfied with their place and begins yearning for the stage itself..."
"We are merciful."
"We permit it."
The Green Angel knew the final moment had arrived.
At last, he lowered his hands.
Like a drowning man grasping for a final lifeline, he crawled to Mozo's feet.
Tears streamed down his face.
He clutched Mozo's leg and begged desperately.
"Please spare me!"
"Please!"
"I'll come back!"
"I'll obey every oath!"
"I'll follow every rule!"
"I beg you, just let me go!"
Mozo kicked him away with undisguised disgust.
If the Green Angel had truly wished to repent, why had he waited until now?
This was not remorse.
It was nothing more than a crocodile's tears.
Having kicked away an Angel with the body of an ordinary mortal, Mozo spoke the final and most authoritative clause of the Contract of Ten.
"But we shall strip away everything you obtained from us."
"And when all has been taken from you..."
"You may finally return to the stage you so desperately desired."
Mozo slowly crouched before the Green Angel.
Looking directly into his eyes, he spoke softly.
"From this moment onward..."
"You are no longer a spectator."
The next instant, an unknown force seized the Green Angel.
No.
Not his body.
His soul.
His divinity.
His Beyonder characteristics.
Everything that had once been granted by the Formless Court.
Under unimaginable agony, the Green Angel released a horrific scream.
Nor was it only the one in the underground hall.
The eight Green Angels on the surface suffered the same fate.
They were all dragged into the sky by an invisible force.
The survivors below watched in stunned disbelief as a formless power began tearing apart the manifested Miracle of Life itself.
Within only a few heartbeats, every trace of the Green Angel's Sequence Two divinity was stripped away.
The polluted green color born from his madness vanished.
Purity returned.
Then, after twisting through impossible dimensions, the liberated Sequence Two characteristic broke free from the seal of the Boundary Candle and departed toward the Maple Court beyond the Sea of Mist.
As for the eight Green Angels on the surface
after losing everything, they reverted to the original gathering members who had once been assimilated.
Their deaths could no longer be undone.
But at the very least, they died as themselves.
For those who had been consumed by a Green Angel, that was already the best ending they could hope for.
The Green Angel in the underground hall did not die.
Because the Contract of Ten only reclaimed what the Formless Court had given.
Life itself had not been granted by the Court.
It had been given by his parents.
Or rather, by his parents.
And the Contract of Ten had no authority to take away such a sacred gift.
