Chapter 2 - Baby Steps

First things first, the cave is compromised, so he can't stay there long, as a blood trail leads right to it. This is far from ideal. He does not know if Lashers have a good sense of smell, but he is unwilling to take that risk. He has to leave now.

Which is easier said than done since this cave that the previous Belluper built is near the top of a quite tall mountain. Hey, he ain't complaining about how chilly that felt because that's pretty damn nice. But on the other hand, he has to fly to a new place.

Floating a few inches off the ground was already quite the feat due to Belluper's poor Ki control, which does not surprise him in the slightest, given that all the brat did since crashing on this bloody planet was hide, eat berries, and the occasional small prey animals, and sleep.

Eat, shit, sleep, repeat.

He was far too terrified to even explore past the immediate area near the mountains, and the Space Pod also returned to what he assumes is Vegeta or some other place belonging to the Planet Trade Organization, so he did not explore at all.

Or train, for that matter. This body is far too scrawny despite already being past the Saiyan growth spurt. Bell theorizes that a Saiyan under stress and duress will grow up faster to compensate for the environment. Which would have been a good thing if the boy in charge of the body beforehand bothered to actually do the bare fucking minimum to improve himself.

The idiot was surviving, but not thriving.

And now he's stuck with this body that is barely functional as it is. Hunger and all.

Well, at least his Mithril Skeleton is doing wonders to make his Ki control feel more natural; he is already flying better than Belluper could after just a few minutes of flying down the mountain. It's a slow process, but bit by bit, and he is slowly speeding up and gaining momentum as well as feeling the sensation of flying become more and more natural.

And just like that, by actually taking the effort to pay attention to how the Ki is flowing into his body, he is already more adept at flying than Belluper. Bell is fairly proud of it, sure, it ain't the best flying, but it's already steady enough to pass.

But he knows that the only reason why this came easier to Bell than to Belluper is due to two simple facts. His new trait and the fact that he is a grown ass man with actual education and patience to pay attention to how his Ki works. Well, three facts actually, because he also has Belluper's full knowledge of how to do it already, so he went from there to fix the mistakes Belluper was committing.

His stomach rumbled, and he winced as he stopped midair to hold it with both hands, practically hugging himself as he groaned in pain. Tough as Nails made it more bearable, but it's become increasingly clear with every passing moment that he is tilting closer and closer to dying from a lack of food. "Damnit...! Why the hell did this guy have to be such a wuss?!" Bell gritted his teeth, and after a few more moments of thought, he turned his eyes to the forest below. "Shit, I ain't got much of a choice, if I keep burning energy flying to a safer place I'll just drop dead.

Hah, he just called the guy a wuss, and yet here he is, also scared to delve into the woods to hunt for any type of food. Well, can't be too hard on the guy since it ain't like he chose to be here. Saiyan culture really is hardcore... interestingly enough, the only reason Belluper lived this long was specifically that he was sent here to pretty much be executed.

A blessing there are no flying predators on this planet. Well, at least none that Belluper has ever seen. The skies belong to him.

He is right above the forest now, and as he looks down, he focuses on the ground below for anything worth noting. No dangerous animals around, and a few gazelle-like things grazing on some orange grass at a large meadow. Bell takes a deep breath and points his palms towards the thing. "Okay, here... it... goes!" Ki gathered near his palms, at first faint, but as he gritted his teeth and managed to actually focus the flow of energy of his body outwards, two spasming balls of Ki began to form.

"Come on, that ain't even a D grade!" A shout of frustration as he stopped focusing on pumping more and more ki and instead prioritized making his Ki more stable by pushing both 'spheres' against each other and forcing them to grind. "Just a shoddy Ki blast ain't even gonna reach down there before flickering away!" He begins to sweat from the Herculean effort of making a proper Ki blast.

No, he doesn't want just a Ki blast; he wants something more... he managed to make them fuse into something resembling a warping teal beach ball that looks like it is moments away from exploding at any moment. "I... I can use this." His eyebrow furrowed, and he raised his hands above his head as if he was about to throw it like a goalie throwing a soccer ball across the field. "Here's most of what I gave! Pepper...! Bomb!" It increased in size just as he threw it down, making sure to push just a little more Ki into it as he launched the attack.

Air burned as the Ki blast blurred down towards the not-gazelle, striking the ground next to the animal, which was just feeding itself moments prior. The resulting explosion blew up several meters across the meadow and burned the area with the unstable Ki. "Huh..." Bell stared, dumbfounded. "Holy schnitzel, that actually worked! Hell yeah!" He pumped his fists in excitement as he cried it out.

[FIRST BEAST HUNTED FEAT: A BRONZE RANDOM TICKET HAS BEEN AWARDED][FIRST TECHNIQUE CREATED FEAT: A SILVER ABILITY SKILL HAS BEEN AWARDED]

The tickets are immediately torn as he flies down to check the damage done after the dust settles. He wanted to hit the thing head-on, but he missed by quite a bit; in the end, the beast still died, but he sure as hell wasn't expecting the explosion to actually burn the place around. Definitely a Spicy Ki Blast.

And hey! Now he has an actual technique, and the system recognized it as one too!

[Rough Knuckle]

|Common Ability|

Allows you to slightly augment your fists with energy, allowing the average man to shatter bricks with their fists. The more energy you expend, the greater the augmentation, but it is not very efficient.

[Pillar of Light]

|Rare Ability|

Allows you to call down a pillar of searing light energy down from the skies to anywhere in your sensory range and deals additional damage against unholy beings.

Eh... not really the best, but two extra abilities rolled means I only need two more before another ability slot opens. Rough Knuckle is just straight up useless because Armament Haki does everything it does, and far, far better. Pillar of Light seems ot be extremely situational, and he doubts he will run across anything unholy for a long while.

Would Majin Buu count as unholy? Or anyone from the demon realm as a whole? Oh, hey! Maybe it works against Namekians!

A whistle is given as he lands and looks around the charred meadow. "Bell, you truly outdid yourself." He grinned like a bafoon as he approached the gazelle. "Look at that, already mostly cooked!" His hands rested on his hips as he nodded with satisfaction. "Finally, some actual meat, this guy mostly ate the lil guys around and they didn't have any good protein. "Too bad the other Gazellelings ran away after the explosion, but just one is good enough for now." He made a chopping motion with his hand and coated it with Armament Haki before bringing it down to slice one of the Gazelle's already cooked legs off.

"A severed leg never looked this tasty before." His mouth is already watering just by holding the leg like an oversized drumstick, and he took no time before taking a chunk out with a bite, greedily swallowing the juicy piece of meat and practically moaning at the taste. "Oh yeah... that's... munch munch... that's the good shit." And it took even less time to devour the entire leg, leaving only bone. "Haah... that hit the spot. Compliments to the chef, that fucker knows how to cook."

The rest of the Gazelle is then picked up, now resting against his back as he holds the front legs of the thing and begins flying. "Now, to find another spot to make a base." He scanned his surroundings and noticed another mountain far off in the distance. "Heeeeeeeello new home away from home!" Looks like it'll be a few hours away, but it's better than standing around in a bloodied cave.

Besides, that place holds too many bad memories, and they might not be his own, but the feeling of despair and fear is all attached to that place. He needs a breath of fresh air and a new view. To go beyond where Belluper never dared.

He is not Belluper anymore, he's Bell.

Of course, he took the time to actually fly up until he was safe up above, and then closed his eyes as he focused on the energy left in his body. Which is not a lot now, since that Pepper Bomb took most of his reserves, he probably can't even fly for a full minute right now. "Okay... Okay... eyes are closed... I can feel the flow of my Ki... I just need to figure out a way to..." His muscles tensed and relaxed as his mind dove deep into his pool of Ki. His very essence.

All sounds became muted, and the deeper he dove, the more intense the pressure around him felt. And yet... it wasn't crushing, it felt more like a warm hug. A very comfortable embrace that he returned by allowing his body to be wrapped in it. "Haah." He exhaled. "Fuuuu." He inhaled.

His eyes opened once again, and he began stimulating the pool of Ki within him until his teal aura covered him as it began to charge up. "Atta boy." Yet another thing Belluper never bothered to learn, he just waited until his Ki recharged. But hey, it ain't like he was doing anything worthwhile most of the time with it besides wasting most of it by flying like a blind drunk.

The charging up took fairly long, almost an entire hour if he counted right. Which he probably did not do to be fair... but it also allowed him to pause and think about his situation and how easy he is taking this whole transition to another body and universe. He is sure his Patron must have worked out the kinks, so he didn't immediately panic about this whole thing. And hey, he for sure is grateful for it because this is an entirely new realm for him.

He chuckles. "Belluper, Bell Pepper. Yeah, that's funny." Gotta love the way the Saiyan race names their people. It just has that Toriyama charm that makes him feel at ease, despite where he finds himself. Although there is something that has been gnawing at the back of his mind the more time passes.

There have been zero pods crashing into this planet. Not even a group of Middle-Class Warriors, or Scouts... no one at all. Had Planet Vegeta already been destroyed by Freeza? Shit, he doesn't ever know what Age it is! Damn Belluper parents! He was far too young to know anything going on in Planet Vegeta...

Fuck.

FUCK!

His tail curled tighter around his waist, and he craned his neck to look at the sun setting to distract his thoughts. "Now, that is one gorgeous view." A shame he can't stay and watch it set. Nights are extremely dark, and he's already losing light; soon enough he won't be able to see the mountains on the horizon, so he gotta act fast. "Well then, let's go!" No use dwelling on these kinds of things, it is what it is.

Bell has to do with what he has. And right now these worries would only slow him down. He'll do what he can and won't just settle for surviving. He'll thrive.

And conquer this planet.
