Upon hearing my response, Kedrick finally let out a long sigh. As if he was relieved...
'Relieved? Why? Because I'm unhurt and safe?'
Considering the flow of our conversation and the timing of his sigh, Kedrick seemed relieved that I wasn't injured. But I couldn't bring myself to believe my conjecture.
'Kedrick, of all people, was worried about me...'
That was nonsense and ridiculous.
If it had been just a while ago, that would have been my immediate reaction. Because I knew what kind of feelings Kedrick had for Sylvia.

But there was something that made me hesitate to categorically deny the possibility that Kedrick would be worried about me.
His recent attitudes toward me came to mind. And also his words and actions that he would never have done before.
