"My lady?"
I suddenly snapped back to reality and distanced myself from Tev. However, the echoing thud, the heartbeat in my ears didn’t subside.
"... Are you feeling unwell?"
"Huh?"
"You appear to have been a bit distracted since this morning."
I rubbed my cheeks, wondering if I was that obvious.
"I've just been lost in thought."
As I replied with an awkward smile, Tev studied my face with a serious expression. The concern in his eyes seemed if he thought I was hiding any pain or discomfort, and it really stuck with me.
I gave him a reassuring grin.
"Really. I’ve just been thinking about something."
"In that case, I would like to help, my lady."
"... Help? With what?"
"With whatever you’re pondering, my lady. I want to be of assistance in solving it."
Tev responded, his tone suggesting that his offer was a given.
I quietly looked at Tev. When we first met, our eyes were at the same level, but now, I had to strain my neck quite a bit to meet his gaze.
