==========================
Hearing Huo Yun'er's words, Wang Dong's face flushed red instantly.
The blush came quickly and fiercely, spreading instantly from his cheeks to his earlobes, even tinting his neck a faint pink.
He stood there, at a loss for what to do, as if frozen in place.
Huo Yuhao, standing beside him, glanced at his expression and couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.
With a hint of amusement in his voice, he quickly spoke up to smooth things over: "Mom, Wang Dong is a boy, he's my roommate."
Huo Yun'er was stunned upon hearing this. Her gaze landed on Wang Dong, looking him up and down for quite a while. The light in her eyes shifted from initial amazement, to brief astonishment, and finally to a trace of... regret.
"Oh my!" She clapped her hands, her tone tinged with some regret. "I must have misjudged; it's just that this young man is so pretty, I didn't react in time."
She said this sincerely, without any malice.
But Wang Dong's face turned even redder. He lowered his head, wishing he could find a hole to crawl into. But since he was still holding the gifts, he had to bite the bullet and hand them forward.
"Auntie." His voice was as small as a mosquito's hum: "These are gifts for you."
Huo Yun'er reached out and took them, her smile deepening.
"Oh my, just coming over is enough, why bring gifts? You don't have to be so polite."
Wang Dong looked up, trying hard to make his expression look normal. His voice recovered some steadiness: "After all, this is my first time visiting, I hope you like these gifts, Auntie."
Huo Yun'er laughed even more happily. "I like them, I like them!"
She nodded repeatedly: "Auntie isn't picky, I like whatever you bring!"
As she spoke, she placed the items on the floor by the wall, then turned back around, her gaze sweeping over the two of them.
"You two sit down first."
Her tone was warm: "Yuhao's friend is here, I need to make a few extra dishes today!"
After finishing her words, she turned and walked toward the kitchen, her steps light, humming a tune under her breath.
It wasn't long before five dishes and one soup were placed on the table by Huo Yun'er.
The aromas intertwined, drifting straight into their noses, making one's mouth water.
Just by smelling the fragrance of the food, Wang Dong couldn't help but swallow his saliva.
He thought to himself, Huo Yuhao was right, his mother's cooking is really good!
"Come, Wang Dong, eat more!"
Huo Yun'er greeted him with a smile, pushing the dishes toward Wang Dong.
Wang Dong couldn't be bothered with politeness anymore; he picked up a piece of braised pork, put it in his mouth, and the soft, sweet, savory taste instantly exploded on his tongue.
His eyes lit up, and he picked up some sweet and sour fish, which was tangy, sweet, and incredibly tender.
Watching Wang Dong devour the food, Huo Yun'er's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled.
"Eat slowly, eat slowly." She said, but her hands kept piling food into Wang Dong's bowl: "If you like it, eat more!"
Wang Dong finally managed to swallow the food in his mouth, looked up, his face full of a satisfied smile.
"Mm!" He nodded vigorously: "Auntie's cooking is delicious! Yuhao is so lucky to be able to eat such good food every day."
Huo Yun'er looked at Wang Dong, and the more she looked, the more she liked this young man—he was pretty, polite, and so good with words.
Suddenly, she remembered something.
"Wang Dong," she said with a smile: "Do you have any sisters at home? Maybe introduce them to Yuhao sometime."
Huo Yuhao was stunned upon hearing this. He put down his bowl and chopsticks, looked at his mother, his face showing a bit of helplessness.
"Mom! I'm only eleven."
Huo Yun'er glanced at him and said righteously: "What's wrong with eleven? If you meet the right person, you start dating early; matters of the heart should be cultivated from a young age."
Huo Yuhao opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately closed it.
Wang Dong sat to the side, his large pink-blue eyes blinking. His left hand under the table rubbed gently.
Then he said: "I do have an older sister."
Huo Yun'er's eyes lit up instantly upon hearing this. She quickly asked: "How old is your sister? She must be quite pretty too, right?"
Wang Dong licked his lips, his movements a bit nervous and unnatural.
His voice softened a bit: "She is my twin sister; her appearance should be identical to mine."
He didn't know what had gotten into him, to have said these things on a whim.
After speaking, he couldn't help but lower his head.
A hint of a blush climbed onto his cheeks once again.
Huo Yun'er didn't notice this; her face was full of excitement as she slapped her thigh and laughed: "Then she must be a great beauty!"
She looked at Wang Dong, her tone full of anticipation.
"Wang Dong, if you think Yuhao is good, introduce him to your sister."
Wang Dong lowered his head, his hands twisted together under the table. After a moment, he gave a soft "Mm."
"Yuhao is very good."
He nodded, agreeing to it....Wang Dong stayed at Huo Yuhao's house that night.
Lying in the unfamiliar bed, covered with a quilt that smelled of sunshine, he slept exceptionally soundly.
Growing up in the Clear Sky Sect, he had no memories of his parents in his mind. He only knew that Big Daddy and Second Daddy had raised him; for two grown men, being able to take care of his food and clothing was already quite good.
But during this day at Huo Yuhao's house, he truly experienced what motherly love was. Huo Yun'er would smile and ask him what he liked to eat, would keep piling food into his bowl, and would nag him to wear more clothes when it got cold.
Those trivial, ordinary, and even somewhat naggy words, falling into his ears, felt like the warmest sunshine in winter.
A day passed very quickly. Wang Dong stood at the doorway, watching Huo Yun'er's back as she busily tidied up the dishes, a trace of reluctance arising in his heart.
It was evening again, and after dinner, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong left home, preparing to return to Shrek Academy.
The afterglow of the setting sun spilled onto the wide street, stretching their shadows long. Huo Yuhao glanced at Wang Dong beside him, seeing him with his head lowered, lost in thought, and couldn't help but smile.
With a hint of teasing in his voice: "What? You don't want to leave?"
Hearing this, Wang Dong looked up and rolled his eyes at him.
On that exquisite face, he actually admitted it directly: "I just don't want to leave, so what?"
He huffed, his chin slightly raised. "Auntie's cooking really suits my taste!"
Huo Yuhao looked at him, his smile deepening.
"Then if you have holidays later, come to my house often. I think Mom likes you a lot too."
Wang Dong's footsteps paused slightly.
He turned his head to look at Huo Yuhao, his large pink-blue eyes flickering with a certain bright light.
"Mm!"
He nodded vigorously, a brilliant smile appearing on his face. In that smile, there was a hint of anticipation, a hint of joy, and a hint of an indescribable thrill.
