Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The King of Pirates vs. The Seventh Hokage

Phase One – Flesh and Will (No Devil Fruit, No Chakra)

The Nexus Arena became an endless beach at twilight. Waves crashed against white sand under a bruised purple sky. A single broken shipwreck lay half-buried in the dunes – a reminder of journeys ended.

Luffy materialized first, barefoot in the surf. His straw hat cast a shadow over his grinning face. He stretched his arms – then paused.

"No rubber?" He poked his cheek. It stayed poked. "Hey! Where's my Gomu Gomu?"

He tried to inflate his bones. Nothing. His body was completely human – no Devil Fruit, no Haki, no Gear tricks.

"THIS SUCKS!"

Across the beach, Naruto appeared in a swirl of sand. His orange jumpsuit was bright against the grey shore. He immediately tried to summon a shadow clone.

Poof. A single puff of smoke. No clone.

"What the – where's my chakra?" Naruto looked at his palms, then at Luffy. "You! Did you do this?"

Luffy stopped complaining and squinted. "You look like a ninja. Are you a ninja?"

"I'm the Hokage! Well, future Hokage. Well, actually I am Hokage in my timeline, but – never mind. Who are you?"

"I'm Monkey D. Luffy. I'm gonna be the King of the Pirates!"

Naruto blinked. "Pirates? Aren't pirates the bad guys?"

Luffy laughed. "Nah. Only the boring ones."

The gong sounded. Phase One began.

Both men felt it – a pressure in their bones. No supernatural strength. No energy. Just two young men in peak human condition.

Luffy charged first, because of course he did. No rubber meant no stretching, but he'd spent years fighting without powers in training. His fist flew toward Naruto's face.

Naruto, trained in taijutsu since childhood, caught the punch on his forearm. He countered with a low sweep kick.

Luffy jumped over it – not superhumanly high, but with the agility of a monkey. He landed on Naruto's shoulders, wrapping his legs around the ninja's neck.

"What the – get off!"

"Nope! This is my special move! Gomu Gomu no – oh wait, I can't stretch. Uh... Headlock of Friendship!"

Naruto grabbed Luffy's leg and threw him into the shipwreck.

Luffy crashed through rotten wood, came up laughing. "You're strong! This is fun!"

"You're insane!" Naruto dusted off his jacket. "Why are you smiling? We're supposed to fight to the death!"

"Because I haven't had a good fistfight in weeks! Last time was against a guy who could split the sky. You're not as strong as him yet, but you're fast!"

Naruto couldn't help it – a grin tugged at his lips. "You're a weird pirate."

"You're a weird ninja. Let's go again!"

They clashed in the shallows. No jutsus. No devil fruits. Just fists, feet, and the sound of waves.

Luffy's style was wild – unpredictable swings, headbutts, even a bite attempt (Naruto yelped and shoved him off). Naruto's was more structured – Leaf Style taijutsu, feints, palm strikes, a textbook Shadow of the Dancing Leaf that launched Luffy into the air.

Mid-flight, Luffy twisted his body – not with rubber, but with raw core strength – and kicked Naruto in the face on the way down.

Both landed in the surf, soaked, panting.

Luffy had a black eye. Naruto's lip was split.

"You're not bad," Naruto admitted.

"You're not bad either," Luffy said. "But I'm still gonna win."

The gong sounded again. Phase One ended.

The beach dissolved into a void. Both men felt their powers returning – a tingle of chakra in Naruto's gut, a stretch in Luffy's bones.

"Finally!" Luffy shouted, his arm snapping back to normal length. "I missed being rubber!"

Naruto's eyes glowed faintly orange. "You have no idea what you're about to face."

End of Phase One. Begin Phase Two.

---

Phase Two – Powers Unleashed: Gears vs. Cloaks

The Nexus Arena reformed into a cratered wasteland – the aftermath of a battle between gods. Broken mountains floated in the distance. The sky was a bruised purple.

Luffy didn't wait. He bit his thumb – no, that's not right. He bit his arm?

"Gear Second!"

Steam exploded from his body. His skin turned pink. His eyes sharpened. He vanished – not teleportation, but pure speed.

Bam! His fist connected with Naruto's ribs before the ninja could react.

Naruto flew backward, skidding across the stone. "Fast – okay, my turn!"

He clapped his hands. Shadow Clone Jutsu!

A dozen Narutos appeared, surrounding Luffy. All of them grinned.

"Too slow, pirate!"

Luffy looked around, then grinned wider. "More enemies just means more to punch!"

Gear Third! He bit his thumb (there we go) and blew air into his bones. His arm swelled to the size of a ship.

"Gomu Gomu no – Gigant Pistol! "

The massive fist came down like a meteor. Naruto's clones scattered, but the shockwave caught three of them, popping them into smoke.

The real Naruto appeared above Luffy, a Rasengan spinning in his palm.

"Rasengan!"

He drove it into Luffy's back. Luffy's rubber body absorbed some of the impact, but the chakra tore through – he coughed blood, stumbled.

"Ow. That actually hurt."

"Good. Because I'm not done!"

Naruto's chakra surged. Orange-red energy leaked from his pores. His eyes turned slitted. His whisker marks thickened.

Nine-Tails Chakra Mode – Version 1.

A cloak of bubbling chakra formed around him, with one tail whipping behind.

Luffy's eyes widened – not in fear, in awe. "You're glowing! Like a lantern!"

"Lantern? I'm a jinchuriki!"

"Is that food?"

"NO!"

Naruto charged, chakra claws extended. Luffy countered with Gear Second speed, dodging the first three slashes. The fourth caught his shoulder – not deep, but enough to bleed.

"Okay, glowing guy. Let's see how you handle this."

Gear Fourth – Boundman!

Luffy bit his arm again (different bite), inflated his muscles, and transformed into a bouncing, hulking sphere of rubber and fury. His legs became springs. His arms coiled like pythons.

"Gomu Gomu no – King Kong Gun! "

He compressed his arm into his body, then released – a fist the size of a boulder, coated in invisible Haki (which the Nexus allowed as part of his power set), rocketing toward Naruto.

Naruto's eyes went red. Kyuubi Chakra Mode – Full.

A second tail formed. Then a third. Then six. He caught the fist with both hands – but the force drove him back a hundred feet, carving a trench.

"You're heavy," Naruto grunted.

"You're still standing," Luffy laughed.

They broke apart. Both were bleeding. Both were grinning.

The gong sounded again. Phase Two ended.

The cratered wasteland shattered into a white void. The Nexus hummed.

Zedroxim's voice echoed: "Phase Three. Prime forms. No restrictions."

Luffy's body began to change – not just inflation, but transformation. His hair turned white. His clothes became a flowing sash. His eyes became circles of pure joy and terror.

Gear Fifth – The Drums of Liberation.

Naruto's chakra exploded. The Nine-Tails cloak turned into a black and orange robe. He floated above the ground, truth-seeking orbs orbiting his back.

Six Paths Sage Mode + Baryon Mode (fusion).

The void held its breath.

End of Phase Two. Begin Phase Three.

---

Phase Three – Prime Forms: Sun God Nika vs. Six Paths Baryon

Luffy laughed.

Not a normal laugh – a cosmic laugh. His body flowed like liquid rubber, cartoonish and terrifying. He could bend reality now – turn the ground into trampolines, punch through space itself, make enemies laugh against their will.

Sun God Nika. The Warrior of Liberation.

Naruto felt it – the oppressive freedom of Luffy's presence. It was like being tickled and crushed at the same time.

But Naruto had his own divinity.

Six Paths Sage Mode gave him understanding of all chakra, flight, truth-seeking orbs that could erase matter. Baryon Mode burned his own life force to create a new form of energy – nuclear fusion in human shape.

"You're like a god," Naruto said, his voice layered with Kurama's growl.

"So are you," Luffy replied, still laughing. "But I'm a fun god."

He stretched his arm – not forward, but through a portal he created by grabbing the air and twisting it. His fist emerged from a crack behind Naruto's head.

Naruto sensed it with Sage Mode. He ducked, spinning a truth-seeking orb into a shield.

Luffy's fist bounced off – but the impact sent shockwaves through the void.

"You can't touch those orbs," Naruto warned. "They erase whatever they hit."

Luffy tilted his head. "Erase? Like... delete?"

"Yes."

"Oh. So I can't punch them?"

"No."

Luffy's grin widened. "Then I'll punch around them!"

He jumped – and the void became a trampoline. He bounced from invisible wall to wall, gaining speed, his body flattening and stretching like a cartoon.

Naruto threw a truth-seeking orb. Luffy flattened himself into a disc, the orb passing millimeters above his surface. Then he reformed mid-air and kicked Naruto in the face.

Naruto flew backward – but Baryon Mode's speed was insane. He recovered mid-flight, appearing beside Luffy with a Baryon Rasengan – a sphere of nuclear-chakra that drained life force on contact.

He pressed it into Luffy's stomach.

Luffy's laugh choked. For the first time, he felt his actual lifespan decreasing – seconds, minutes, hours draining away.

"Hey," Luffy said, still smiling but with blood in his teeth. "That's not fair. You're stealing my time."

"It's the only way to beat someone like you," Naruto said, his own body gaunt – Baryon Mode was burning him too.

Luffy grabbed Naruto's wrist. His hand melted around it, rubbery and inescapable.

"Then I'll end this before you steal too much."

Gomu Gomu no – Bajrang Gun.

His fist expanded – not to the size of a ship, but to the size of a moon. Coated in Haki, wrapped in the flames of liberation, powered by the drums of his heart.

Naruto looked up at the descending fist. He had seconds.

He gathered every ounce of Baryon chakra, every truth-seeking orb, every tailed beast's remaining strength, into one final attack.

Six Paths – Super Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken.

Two forces – freedom vs. order, rubber vs. chakra, joy vs. duty – collided in the center of the Nexus.

The void cracked.

Zedroxim's throne tilted. The Archive screamed.

When the light faded...

Luffy lay on his back, Gear Fifth dissipated, straw hat floating beside him. His chest rose and fell – alive, but barely.

Naruto knelt ten feet away, Baryon Mode gone, Kurama's presence a faint whisper. His Six Paths robe was tattered.

Both were conscious. Neither could stand.

The Nexus waited.

Zedroxim's voice, almost curious: "No victor. Double knockout. But the rules require a winner. I shall decide..."

"No."

The voice came from both of them at once.

Luffy turned his head, grinning weakly. "Hey, ninja. You still got energy?"

Naruto coughed, spat blood, smiled. "For one more punch. You?"

"Always."

They crawled toward each other. Foot by foot. Inch by inch. Luffy's rubber body dragged. Naruto's chakra-depleted limbs shook.

They met in the middle.

Luffy raised a fist. Naruto raised a fist.

They didn't punch each other.

They bumped fists.

The Nexus Arena shuddered.

Zedroxim's voice rose: "That is not a victory condition!"

Luffy laughed – weak, but real. "We're not fighting for you."

Naruto nodded. "We're fighting for ourselves. And we say it's a draw."

The white void flickered. The Archive groaned. And for the second time, the Nexus had no answer.

Zedroxim's whisper was cold: "...Fine. Both advance. But I will find a way to break you both."

Luffy and Naruto lay in the void, fist-bumping, and laughed until they coughed blood.
