Alpha King Huxley looked at his phone, the sharp, manipulative warnings of the Luna Queen still echoing in his mind. He dialed Gideon's number, only to find it switched off. With a frustrated sigh, he dialed Micah's line instead. It connected on the first ring.
"Greetings, Your Majesty," Micah began, his voice shifting into a formal tone.
"Is Gideon with you? I need to speak with him immediately," Huxley said.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Micah lowered the device, his eyes meeting Gideon's as he handed it over. Adeline took a few steps back, giving them space but keeping her eyes on Micah, her pulse quickening at the mention of the King.
"Good morning, Dad," Gideon said, his voice cool and steady. "My phone's battery must have died. Why did you call?"
"I want you back, Gideon," Huxley said from the other side. "Bring the girl to the palace by this evening. I suppose everything has been handled well."
