It might… it might not.
She was sure she has read thousands of light novels and fanfictions, which starts by the protagonist getting flattened by the legendary God of isekaism, "Truck kun".
But she had never thought she would ever get the same treatment.
It has only been 5 years since she was declared mentally sound enough to live normally in the society. She even got a job for herself a couple of years back.
Life was going like life should go.
But she had to admit that things were getting boring lately.
Maybe getting done by the legendary Truck kun was not a bad thing.
Her life as much as she could remember, flashed before her eyes, before everything went black.
And by black it means that pitch Black. There was no light coming from anywhere for her to see anything. The pain had also vanished for her the moment everything went black.
She had been unconscious before. But she had never felt anything like that. It was a strange sensation. She could feel herself, think for herself but could not move her limbs or do anything else.
Suddenly everything around her changed again. She found herself in a white room. Everything was White. Including the floor, walls, roof, chair…
The only thing that was not white, was her skin and her hair. Although she was not wearing anything, strangely enough she didn't feel any shame about it.
"Is this after life ? Or have I gone crazy again ?" The woman asked calmly.
"This is not exactly after-life. The place you were in before coming here can be considered as after life. You can call this place a specialized ICU for souls."
The woman looked around to find the source of the voice. But when she couldn't she decided to sit on the chair available for her. There is no point in panicking or trying to figure things out. Vibing along was easier.
"So, why was I brought here ?"
"I will explain what is going on in very simple words.
You can consider me an omnipotent being. I had a small quarrel with another omnipotent being.
Our power levels are beyond your imagination. So all of the omnipotent beings have reached an agreement that one omnipotent being could never fight against another omnipotent being. So in order to solve our quarrel we decided to settle it with a game.
Considering both of us were bored out of our mind, the game we decided is going to cure our boredom.
Are you following so far ?"
"I am. Now please continue." The woman said without any change in her curious expression.
"The game we will play is simple. Whose player is better.
To explain it in detail, both of us will choose two souls from your planet. The conditions being the soul must belong to a fauna, and we cannot tamper with the memories, Instinct and the will of the soul.
Both of us will offer our respective chosen souls some powers and abilities to choose for their next life.
Then we will reincarnate them in the MCU universe. But this universe will be different. It will be created by us. So the players wouldn't have to be worried about the timeline or any kind of higher level of powers.
Both of the players will be sent at a particular time into this universe with a clean identity.
The players could do whatever they want. Of course their actions will have their own consequences.
After a certain period of time, depending on whoever performed better in their life will be declared as a winner. And with that the being who has chosen the player will be declared as a winner.
To judge fairly, there will be a system connected to both of the players. It will not provide any assistance to the player's life. It will only judge their actions and provide them points.
If you agree to play and manage to win for me, then I will grant you any wish you want, except for becoming an omnipotent being yourself of course.
So what do you say ?"
"What are the conditions… on which basis will it be decided that a person has a better life ?" The woman asked curiously.
"There will be two categories for marking. "Sucess points" and "Entertainment points". But you will know about these things in detail only if you accept the offer. Basically, it will depend on how entertaining you will make your life for us to watch. You can become a hero, an antihero, a villain, a civilian, a business tycoon or an actor. As your life is more interesting to watch, you will be declared as the winner.
The system will also assign you some common missions and judge your performance in the mission and give you additional points." The voice told the woman.
"I see… I will do it."
"Really… Well then, here you go."
Suddenly the woman jerked. A lot of information had directly flowed into her brain. The information contained everything she should know about how to choose her wishes.
The mechanism was simple.
Each player will be given 100 points and 10 slots.
There is a pool of wishes. Each wish has its price. It can be in positive points or in negative points.
The wishes with positive points are usually good things like powers and abilities.
The wishes with negative points are usually bad things like weaknesses.
If someone chooses a wish with negative points then, the negative points will turn positive and will be added to the total points left.
The wishes are mainly divided into four categories.
Category one contained intrinsic powers and abilities. From superpower to having a specific talent or high IQ can be bought here.
Category two contained all sorts of items. From perfected super soldiers serum to a devil fruit can be bought.
Category three contained wishes regarding body modification. In your next life you can look like your favourite anime character or you can even customize your looks. This was the cheapest category out of all.
Finally category four contained all types of miscellaneous wishes that did not fall into these three categories. The majority of the precious in this category had a negative point price.
And the woman had all the time in the world to choose her wishes.
Since all the information had directly flowed into her mind, she easily filtered everything that she didn't want.
