Thursday afternoon. The campus was bathed in warm sunlight, but Olivia Carter felt like she was freezing.
She was sitting on a bench outside the science building, aggressively tapping her manicured nails against her phone screen. Nothing made sense anymore. Victor Lang, the billionaire heir she had left Adrian for, was turning out to be a boring, self-obsessed jerk who only cared about himself.
But worse than that was Adrian.
Rumors were flying around campus. People were talking about how Adrian Vale had completely taken over the VIP section at The Apex. Girls in her sorority were whispering about how incredibly hot he looked in his new tailored clothes.
And her best friend, Jessica, had been acting bizarre all week—glowing, distracted, and constantly checking her phone with a flushed face.
Olivia felt her absolute control slipping through her fingers. She needed to reassert her dominance. She needed to prove that Adrian was still her dog.
She saw him walking out of the science building. He was wearing a fitted black henley that made his shoulders look impossibly broad.
Olivia stood up, puffing out her perky C-cups, and stepped directly into his path.
"Adrian," she said, crossing her arms and putting on her best pouty, victimized face. "We need to talk."
Adrian stopped. He looked down at her, his expression completely blank. He activated [Emotion Scan].
[Target: Olivia Carter] [Panic: 60%] [Regret: 40%] [Desperation for Control: 85%]
"I'm busy, Olivia," Adrian said, his voice cold and dismissive. He stepped to the side to walk around her.
"Wait!" Olivia reached out, grabbing his forearm. A jolt of electricity shot through her at the contact. His arm was rock hard. "Why are you acting like this? You've been ignoring me all week. I... I miss my friend, Adrian."
It was a pathetic, manipulative lie, and they both knew it.
Adrian looked down at her hand on his arm, then back up to her piercing blue eyes. He unleashed [Eye Contact Control] at maximum output.
Olivia gasped, her grip on his arm faltering.
The psychological pressure was crushing.
"You don't miss your friend, Olivia," Adrian murmured, his voice dripping with dark amusement.
"You miss your pet. You miss having a loser to step on so you can feel tall. But I'm not down there anymore. And looking at you now..." He let his eyes drag over her body, completely unimpressed.
"...you're really not worth the effort."
Olivia's face drained of color. Her heart shattered against her ribs. "Adrian, please—"
"Don't touch me again," he warned softly. He pulled his arm away and walked off, leaving the campus queen standing in the middle of the courtyard, trembling with a mixture of absolute fury and a dark, terrifying arousal she couldn't suppress.
Adrian walked straight back to his dorm. He unlocked the door and stepped inside, only to find someone already waiting for him.
Jessica Thorne was sitting on his desk. She had used the spare key he had hidden for her. She was wearing her tight yoga pants and a sports bra, her sculpted, athletic body practically vibrating with nervous energy.
"I saw you," Jessica whispered, her eyes wide and hungry. "From the window. I saw you completely shut her down."
Adrian locked the door behind him. The lingering annoyance from dealing with Olivia instantly morphed into a dark, predatory heat.
"Did you like that, Jess?" Adrian asked, walking slowly toward her.
"I loved it," she breathed, her firm thighs parting slightly. "She looked so pathetic. She looked like... like a simp."
Adrian smirked. He stepped between her parted legs, his hands gripping her tight, muscular waist. "You've been a good girl this week. You brought the girls to the club. You kept your mouth shut."
"I'll do whatever you want, Adrian," Jessica whimpered, her hands tangling in his shirt.
"Just touch me. Please."
Adrian didn't need to be asked twice. He used Jessica to completely wash away the foul taste Olivia had left in his mouth. He bent her backward over the desk, tearing her sports bra aside, and took her with a brutal, dominant intensity.
Jessica screamed his name, her athletic body taking every ounce of his power, completely addicted to the man who had finally pulled her out of Olivia's shadow.
