It was night and Viserys was in his chambers with Otto Hightower and Grand Maester Mellos who had a bowl of maggots. The maggots were to treat the wound Viserys received a few months ago when he cut himself on the Iron Throne which began to rot his skin on the digit finger. Mellos began to unwrap the bandages that was covering the finger which showed that the wound got worse as the top of the finger was almost black.
"This is our best chance to save the digit, Your Grace," Mellos assured the king who was reluctant to put his hand in the bowl, "The maggots will remove the dead flesh and hopefully stop the advance of the rot."
The Grand Maester placed the king's hand in the bowl and covered the hand with the maggots. Meanwhile Viserys looked at his Hand wanting his counsel.
"I held an audience earlier today with Lord Corlys and Princess Rhaenys." Viserys told Otto.
"That was most charitable of you, Your Grace." Otto replied, "I'm sure Lord Corlys appreciated the spirit of it."
"He proposed a marriage." Viserys said.
"To whom, Your Grace?" Otto asked with intrigue.
"The Lady Laena." Viserys answered as Otto and Mellos looked at the king seriously, "To combine the strength of our houses, and demonstrate my reign's strongest days are ahead, not behind."
"Lord Corlys has overreached, Your Grace." Otto said, "Such matters must be discussed with the Small Council."
"That is what I'm doing, presently." Viserys replied to Otto who smiled, "So, what is your advice, dear Otto."
"The Lady Laena is young, Your Grace." Otto began to say.
"Indeed, but the wounds made by the Great Council still linger, my king." Mellos interjected. "A match with their daughter would go a long way towards sealing the breach and uniting the two great Valyrian houses would certainly signal unity throughout the realm and beyond."
"I do fear what Rhaenyra might think." Viserys admitted.
"What does it matter, Your Grace?" Mellos asked, "Her mother has passed. Her father must propagate the royal line."
Viserys looked down, knowing that is true. Rhaenyra may be the heir, but it is still his duty to make new heirs in case something where to happen to her before Viserys passed.
"The Grand Maester's reasoning is sound." Otto said while having a reluctant look. "I dearly loved my own lady wife. The pain of her passing still haunts me. And to be compelled to replace her for duty's sake." He paused as the King looked at his Hand. "You are the King. But I do not envy you."
"Aegon did counsel me to accept the match." Viserys admitted, "He was the one who arranged the audience in fact after speaking with Lord Corlys on my behalf."
"Had he now." Otto said with his eyebrows raised. "I am surprised. The prince Aegon never took any interest in court during his time in the Red Keep."
"Well it seems he has." Viserys said, "He even made his own proposal to marry Baelar to Rhaenyra."
Otto then looked at the King intently. Marrying Baelar to Rhaenyra would strengthen her claim to the throne, even though it was meant to be temporary until the king remarries and gains a son. So it seems that The Dragon of the East was making his own political moves for his advantages.
"Marrying the prince Baelar to the Princess would create a strong match for the realm, Your Grace." Mellos said, who was also surprised that Aegon made such a political move. "There is truly no one else who is more worthy of the princess's hand than her cousin."
"Although Aegon also admitted that Baelar is more interested in marry Leah Lannister." Viserys continued.
"The Lady Leah would be a good match as well, Your Grace." Otto replied, "The Lannisters are a noble family that almost rivals in riches with the Velaryons and will bring Casterly Rock as an ally to the crown."
"Regardless," Viserys said, "I told Aegon whatever decisions he makes will have my support."
Viserys looked down to his hand that was still covered with maggots but did not see Otto who had a certain look on his face. Otto believes that Aegon was not fit to be heir like Daemon, but it seems that the prince was making moves to put his blood on the throne. Not to mention that he had spoken to Corlys and Viserys to hold an audience with each other, meaning that Aegon was probably the one who urged Corlys to propose his daughter hand to the king.

Aegon, Claryssa, and Baelar were having dinner in Aegon's apartment. Aegon and Claryssa don't normally have dinner with each other, but from time to time they would for their son's sake. It was a quiet dinner with Aegon and Claryssa at opposite ends of the table and their son was at the middle who was looking back and forth from his parents in awkward silence.
"I heard that Lord Corlys is giving his daughters' hand to the king." Baelar said, trying to break the ice.
"He is," Aegon replied, "I was with Viserys when he made the proposal."
"I told you it was a matter of time before this happened." Claryssa said to Aegon before drinking her wine, "and it's not surprising that the Sea Snake was the first one to offer his daughter to the king."
"Why is that?" Baelar asked.
"Corlys always wanted his blood on the Iron Throne ever since he married Rhaenys." Aegon said, "Now it seems, he might succeed in it."
"Did you support this match." Claryssa asked him.
"I told Viserys of the benefits of having House Velaryon as a permanent ally through blood." Aegon answered.
"Did you also spoke to him about our discussion." Claryssa then asked.
"I did." Aegon simply said.
"What did you spoke to the king about?" Baelar asked as his parents looked at their son and then to each other.
"Baelar, your father and I have had a conversation about you." Claryssa said as Aegon looked down at his plate. "Aegon." She addressed her husband to start the conversation as Baelar looked at his father.
"Um, Baelar," Aegon tried to say, "Your mother and I were discussing, and we proposed a marriage between you and Rhaenyra."
"Me….and…...Rhaenyra." Baelar repeated slowly, trying to process the news. He then looked at his mother who nodded her head to confirm what his father said.
"We believe that it is a good match," Claryssa explained, "Since Rhaenyra is the heir, you would be married to a princess who eventually becomes queen with you as her consort."
"Her consort." Baelar repeated as he was still processing the news before turning to his father, "And you already spoke to the king about it before discussing it me."
Aegon opened his mouth to say something, but no words would come out. It's obvious that Baelar does not want to marry Rhaenyra.
"Baelar, you know, as a prince, you are expected to marry for alliances to bolster strength for your house." Claryssa reasoned,
"But I'm only third in line for the throne," Baelar said with his voice rising, "Why would it matter who I marry."
"It always matters Baelar," Claryssa answered with a stern voice, "Not only that, but with you marrying Rhaenyra, it will strengthen her own claim to the throne."
"So even a prince has no say in this matter." Baelar said with a loud tone.
"Actually no, he doesn't" Claryssa said in a stern voice, "Your father and I were married despite our own misgivings on it, because it was our duty to our families."
Baelar, who had enough of this conversation, got up and walked away from the table and stormed out of the room while his parents stood up.
"Baelar, we are not done discussing this." Claryssa yelled for her son as he stormed off, "Baelar!"
"He's just acting like a normal teenager. Are you that surprised he reacted that way." Aegon said.
"You know that a marriage alliance would happen no matter what." Claryssa scolded him with her hand on her hips, "Either to Rhaenyra or someone else and you know that."
Aegon sighed knowing that it is true. "Let me speak with him." He suggested as he left the room and followed his son. He followed Baelar until they reached his room where the young prince slammed to door in his father's face. Aegon stood at the door and knocked.
"Baelar, can I come in?" Aegon asked. There was no answer, so Aegon opened the door and saw his son on a couch holding a pillow close to his chest.
"I don't want to talk with you." Baelar exclaimed.
"You don't need to talk, just listen" Aegon replied calmly as he slowly sat on the couch but still giving Baelar some space, "You're right, we should have talked with you about the marriage proposal." Baelar scoffed, "But your mother is right. You have to know that this would have happened sometime." Baelar stayed silent, not looking at his father. Then Aegon had an idea. "I was going to go on a midnight ride on Nightwing. Do you want to come with me? We could go dragon riding together." Baelar then looked up to his father. He never turned down on a dragon ride, so he nodded.
Aegon got up and said, "Lets get ready and I will meet you at the stable."
Aegon and Baelar both got ready in their riding clothes as they met in the stables.
"Are the Kingsguard coming with us." Baelar asked.
"I thought we might not need them tonight." Aegon said with a smile.
"But, going to the city unprotected," Baelar said until his father cut him off.
"No one is going to know who we are when he have theses hoods on." Aegon assured him as he handed Baelar a cap to cover his Targaryen hair.
Baelar reluctantly took the cap and put it on his head as Aegon put his on. They had hoods on so no one could see their Targaryen silver gold hair. They reached the Dragon Pit and met with some dragon keepers and took off their caps to show them who they are.
"My son and I are going for a ride tonight." Aegon said to the dragon keeper.
"As you wish my prince." The dragon keepers went into the Pit and lured Nightwing and Orvax out of their lairs. Nightwing, temperamental as always, was growling and sneering at the dragon keepers as they carefully brought her out. When she came out Aegon approached her gently and started to pet her gently as she began to purr to her rider as she became more calm.
"Why is Nightwing always so temperamental." Baelar asked while watching his father stroke his dragon.
"Remember son, she hatched on Dragonstone. There she grew and lived with all of the other wild dragons. I might ride her, but she's never really tamed like the other dragon in the Pit. Not like Orvax. We don't choose them, they choose us. The bond we have with them is so deep, they can feel what we feel, but they still act on their own instincts."
Baelar listened intently to his father's words. Orvax hatched during the early years of King Jaehaerys' reign when the Dragon Pit was still being built. It wasn't completed until much later, but Orvax was still a young dragon at the time and the dragon keepers were the ones who helped Baelar claim Orvax, or as his father put it, Orvax chose Baelar as a rider. Orvax, calmer but slightly smaller than Nightwing, soon came as the dragon keepers lured him out to his rider, Baelar, who petted him which made him purr. They got on their saddles and gave the commands to their mounts and Nightwing then flapped her wings and flew to the sky and Orvax flew not far behind her. Nightwing was flying fast and Orvax was catching up with her as the two dragons soared over King's Landing. Soon they flew over the city gates and started to go to Blackwater Bay. Baelar got Orvax to fly high in the skies, while looking around and could not find his father. Since Nightwing had black scales that allow her to blend in the night's sky which is half the reason why she is named "The Night's Terror". Soon a large beast flew right over Orvax as Baelar saw it was his father flying over them. Aegon looked back, smiling at his son and he started to hear him laugh. Baelar then urged Orvax to go faster as they began to ride past Nightwing. Aegon, who saw what his son was doing, accepted the challenge. The two dragons then raced across the Bay as they soared in the night.
"Dracarys" Baelar said as Orvax roared fire at the sky and then swerved to the right, knowing his father is behind him. Aegon, who saw the fire glowing in the night sky, then swerved left to avoid the smoke and flames. Seeing how Baelar was playing it, Aegon, who smiled, then urged Nightwing to fly up higher and higher. They soon started to make their way back to King's Landing and Baelar looked around and saw his father was gone. Baelar, flying over the city, started to make his way back to the Dragon Pit, until his father came out of nowhere and landed on the ground before Orvax could even get ready to land. The dragons landed back to the Dragon Pit at the back entrance as the riders dismounted the dragons.
"How did you do that?" Baelar asked, "I was ahead of you."
Aegon laughed, "Nightwing always disappear in the night."
"That's not fair." Baelar pouted.
"You had fun." Aegon said as he ruffled his son's head.
"Yes father," Baelar laughed, "I did."
They put their hoods back on and mounted the horses waiting for them. They got on their horses and started to make their way back to the Red Keep. Soon Aegon saw that they were going to pass by a tavern called The Silver Bass. It was the same tavern he used to visit years ago and had a thought. He urged his horse to get closer to the tavern with his son following him.
"Father, what are we doing here?" Baelar asked as they got off their horses and tied them up so they wouldn't wander off.
"I just thought you might want to see how the common people enjoy life in a tavern." Aegon said with a cheeky smile.
"Father, what if someone sees us." Baelar insisted.
"It'll be fine." Aegon assured him as he wrapped his arm around him, "As long as we keep our caps on no one will know. Come on."
They went into the tavern. It was packed with people who were laughing, drinking, and dancing the night away with live music playing. There were rushes on the floor for all the spilt drinks which have been happening a lot. Baelar was surprised at how much the common people were conversing and having fun. He even saw a couple of men huddling together, playing a game of dice. More likely a few men were playing, and all the other men were placing their bets. The music was playing with many people clapping with the rhythm while others danced. The father and son had their caps on so no one could tell who they were. A tavern servant came up to them and asked if they would like anything.
"Bring us two mugs of ale." Aegon requested, as the servant left to get them.
"I never drank ale before." Baelar said nervously.
"I was about your age when I drank my first ale." Aegon said.
"Really?" Baelar asked.
"When I turned into the age of three and ten, your uncles thought it was time to take me to my first tavern and brought me here." Aegon began to reminisce, "They even gave me my first ale and it was quite strong, so be prepared."
"If mother found out." Baelar said, worrying of what his mother thought.
"Don't worry about her," Aegon told him with a smile, "Tonight we are just enjoying a fun night."
Baelar gave a small smile, although he was still worried if someone saw him. If people knew that he was drinking in a tavern, he could only imagine what they would say. The servant came back with two mugs of ale as Aegon paid her with gold. Baelar looked at his mug nervously as he picked it up and slowly took a sip. When he gulp, he started to cough heavily as Aegon laughed.
"I said they were strong." Aegon said.
"Very" Baelar said after he finished coughing as his father smiled. Aegon was glad his son was finally having fun and finally forgetting that he was a prince. However, there was a reason he took his son here. He wanted to talk with him about the marriage proposal.
"So, how do you feel about marrying her." Aegon said, trying not to say Rhaenyra's name to keep the façade of them being common folk.
Baelar looked at his father seriously and said, "I don't want to marry her."
"Is it because there is someone else you want to marry?" Aegon asked as Baelar didn't say anything and looked away.
"Is it a certain Lannister girl?" Aegon asked again and Baelar started to blush, "Well, she is beautiful."
"Yes, she is." Baelar softly admitted.
"She is also very kind and quite humble, considering the Lannisters tend to be very prideful." Aegon said remembering the way that family is.
"Not Leah." Baelar said.
"Can I ask when you started have feeling for her?" Aegon asked carefully.
Baelar looked at his father carefully, "Leah was a ward to the crown and companion to Rhaenyra when we were little."
"I remember." Aegon said. He remembers when Viserys, Aemma, and Rhaenyra went on a tour in the Westerlands. The were at Casterly Rock where the princess met Leah Lannister and barely left each other's side, conversing and having fun together. When it was time to for the royal family to leave, Rhaenyra begged her father to take in Leah as a ward to the crown since her parents were dead at that time. Viserys, as usual, agreed to it.
"When I first met her, she seemed nice," Baelar began, "and when I started my sword training, I would see her at the training yards watching me and whenever I failed, she was there encouraging me that practice makes me better. After that she would come to the training yard every time I practice, encouraging me to continue. She never cared whether I failed or not, and sometimes, when I got heckled by older boys who made jests of my failure, she always came to my defense."
Aegon intently listened to his son on how he met Leah. From the way he has been talking, it reminded him of Melina and how she was always encouraging him to live life the way he wanted, not what others expected him to live.
Baelar began to chuckle a bit, "I remember when one of the boys heckled me, she came right up to him and punched him in the nose."
"That doesn't seem fitting for a lady of her status." Aegon laughed.
"Leah was never like most ladies of the realm." Baelar smiled.
Just Aegon and Baelar were deep in conversation, a drunk man stumbled on his son while spilling ale on him. Aegon got up as he grabbed the man and threw him down to the floor.
"Are you ok?" Aegon asked.
"I think so." Baelar said while he was drenched in ale.
"What you think you doing?" The drunk man stood up getting into Aegon's face.
"You spilled ale on my son." Aegon, trying not to reveal himself, shoved the drunk away from him.
"Father." Baelar warned his father, wanting to leave.
Then the drunk got up again and punched Aegon in the face. Aegon grabbed the drunk's shirt and punched his face which send him back to the ground, but not before the drunk grabbed Aegon's cloak to drag him with him. Soon the two men where on the ground fighting as the people in the tavern where cheering them on. Baelar, not wanting things to get worse, went outside of the tavern to get help. He then saw two gold cloaks making their rounds.
"I need help, my father got into a fight with a drunk in the tavern." Baelar said.
"There's always a tavern brawl boy." One of the gold cloaks dismissed.
Baelar, feeling like there was no other choice, took off his cap to reveal his Targaryen silver gold hair. "Gold cloaks," The men turned and saw that the boy was actually prince Baelar, "My father, prince Aegon needs your help."
When the gold cloaks heard what the young prince said, they went right away inside the tavern, going through the crowd and seeing Aegon brawling with the drunk. They broke off the fight and separated the two men. Aegon's cap fell off from the fight, revealing his silver gold hair to everyone as they were shocked who he was.
"Are you alright my prince?" One of the gold cloaks asked.
Aegon did not answer but was looked around for his son, hoping that he was okay. He saw Baelar standing with the crowd with a terrified look in his eyes, shocked by what happened. More accurately worried on what his mother will say of this.

Claryssa was walking threw the halls of Maegor's Holdfast. She was wondering on where Aegon was with Baelar. Hopefully, he was able to convince their son to accept the match. Although it wasn't really his decision. Despite Baelar's objections, the marriage between him and Rhaenyra was a logical choice. At the moment, there were rumors going about Lord Corlys giving his daughters' hand to the king. No doubt, once Viserys has a son, people would want that son to be the next monarch instead of Rhaenyra. However, Claryssa knew that Viserys would never change the succession since he made all the lords to swear loyalty to Rhaenyra and defend her rights. He never would have gone to great lengths if Rhaenyra was not going to be the next monarch. Claryssa saw Otto Hightower coming down the halls.
"Good evening my lady." Otto greeted.
"Lord Hand." Claryssa greeted back.
"I was speaking to the king and received word that you and Aegon proposed a marriage between the princess Rhaenyra and your son." Otto said as they both stopped walking.
"Yes, Aegon and I both agree that it would be a good match." Claryssa replied.
"Yes, although, I heard that Baelar has his own desire on who to marry." Otto told her.
"Does he?" Claryssa questioned, "and who would that be?"
"Leah Lannister." Otto answered, "And Prince Aegon is aware of it."
Claryssa was surprised at this information, "This is the first I have heard of it."
"Well, I believe I am compelled tell you that the King told Prince Aegon that whatever he decides for his son to marry, he will give his support to it." Otto said.
Claryssa looked at Otto, wondering what his motives was for this conversation, "Aegon is Baelar's father, and whatever he decides, I follow his lead." She said.
Claryssa might not like Aegon, but in a world of politics, she must keep up appearances with her husband. There were times when people would make comments abut her marriage and how her husband has another wife and son across the Narrow Sea in Braavos. Whenever that happens, she would shut them down or remind them that Aegon was a prince and that the king would not be kind to those who share slanders about youngest brother.
"Of course, my lady, as his wife you are required," Otto began, "But I don't believe that you would support the prince when he requested to the king of having his mistress and bastard son in King's Landing."
Claryssa looked at the Hand stunned by what he told her, "I believe that they are just the usual slanders by the people of the court."
"I'm afraid not," Otto told her, "During one of the council meetings, Grand Maester Mellos reported that the prince made the request to the king some time ago to have the Bravossi Whore at court. The king did not wish for it to be made public, but he also told the prince that he would consider it."
Claryssa was astonished by this information. There were rumors of Aegon trying to take this woman as a second wife, and she did hear rumors of him trying to bring her into the city, but she always thought of them as rumors and did not put much thought to it. Just before she was going to ask more questions, a Kingsguard knight came up to them and said, "Lady Claryssa, the king requires your presence with prince Aegon and prince Baelar." After hearing that, Claryssa then bid the Hand good day as she followed the knight into the king's chambers. When she entered, she saw Viserys with her husband who has bruises and her son who reeked of ale.
"What happened?" Claryssa demanded as she came closer to her son to see if he was hurt.
"It seems that my brother and nephew got into a tavern brawl tonight at the Silver Bass." Viserys
"What?" Claryssa said in dismay.
"I'm sorry mother," Baelar said, "There was a fight and I had to go to the gold cloaks to stop it."
"It was nothing." Aegon insisted.
"Lady Claryssa, you can take your son to his room," Viserys told her, "I need to have a word with my brother,"
Claryssa glared at Aegon as she and her son left the room and closed the door so the two brothers could speak in private.
"What were you thinking." Viserys said, "bringing Baelar to the Silver Bass."
"I told my son of the marriage proposal to him and Rhaenyra, and he was upset." Aegon explained, "So I decided to take him for a dragon ride to get his mind off of it. Then we were making our way back to the Red Keep and I saw the tavern and I thought of taking him there to have a good time, like you and Daemon did."
"We were young at that time Aegon," Viserys said.
"I was three and ten when you brought me to the Silver Bass." Aegon reminded, "The same age as Baelar is now."
"But we never got into fights with the drunks at the tavern and had Kingsguard to protect us." Viserys argued.
"What do you want me to say?" Aegon asked, "That I made a mistake. Fine. I made a mistake."
"You shouldn't have been there in the beginning, not without protection." Viserys said, "Aegon, you are a grown man of eight and twenty, you can't go around into fights like a child."
"Like a child?" Aegon questioned sharply, "What about Daemon, who you ordered to go to the Vale with his wife, is at Dragonstone with an army of gold cloaks after you disinherited him, is that not childish?"
"Something I expect of him, Aegon." Viserys yelled. He looked at Aegon then sighed to calm himself. "You are a father; do you ever think of what Baelar would learn from your actions?"
"To enjoy what life has to offer." Aegon questioned.
"Being reckless." Viserys corrected, "Do you know what the people at the court will say."
"There are always going to be slander and gossip wherever we go Viserys, I don't see how it is any of our concern." Aegon rebutted.
"Well what about concern for your son." Viserys countered, "Are you even concerned on what everyone will say about him. What all of King's Landing will say about him coming from the Silver Bass tavern stinking of ale."
"You have you're way to raise your child, let me raise my son in mine." Aegon finished the argument as he left the room.

Baelar was in his room sitting on the bed while his mother was standing in front of him.
"Why were you there?" Claryssa asked her son.
"Father and I went for a dragon ride and when we were on our way back to the Red Keep, he saw the tavern he said he use to go." Baelar explained to his mother.
"The Silver Bass." She guessed
"You know that place?" Baelar asked, surprised that his mother knows of the tavern.
"Your father went there all the time when he was younger." Claryssa said, "There were times he brought me there."
"He wanted to go so I could see how the common people have fun in the city." Baelar continued.
"And did you see how they had fun?" Claryssa asked in a stern voice, "Getting drunk and going into tavern brawls?"
"It was not my fault mother; I got the gold cloaks to stop it before it got worse." Baelar defended himself.
Claryssa sighed shaking her head and then sat next to him, "Yes, you did the right thing. But it would have been wiser if you had Kingsguard with you or did not go there at all. Soon all of King's Landing will be talking about this for, who knows how long. Right now you're marriage to Rhaenyra is till in question and now it might not happen at all."
"I don't want to marry Rhaenyra." Baelar insisted.
"Do you think I wanted to marry your father, or he wanted to marry me?" Claryssa asked, "We didn't, but we still did it for our houses and our families. Because that is the order of things. We marry for strategic alliances and for our benefits."
Just as she finished, Aegon opened the door and saw his wife and son. Claryssa then walked to Aegon and said, "say what you're going to say, but we need to talk when you're finished.
As Claryssa left the room, Aegon slowly approached the bed and sat next to Baelar, but not too close so he could have space.
"Are you ok?" Aegon asked.
"I'm fine." Baelar said softly.
"I'm sorry." Aegon said, "I didn't mean for that to happen. I just wanted you to have fun."
"It's not your fault." Baelar told his father, "Although I don't think mother might see it that way."
"What did she say?" Aegon asked.
Baelar didn't answer as he looked at the ground.
"Baelar, the whole reason I brought you there was to show you what life was like without all of the politics." Aegon said, "To be a regular person."
"Do you wish that?" Baelar asked looking at his father.
"Yes, I do." Aegon answered while putting his hand on his son's shoulder, "Sometimes, being a prince, being forced to do what is expected of you. Being tied to this life like a cage. It's intolerable."
Baelar looked at his father and went back to his thoughts as his father's words proved what he was thinking. His father does not want to be here. His father would love to go back to Braavos with his other family and he would be happier. That he and his mother were nothing but a duty he had to fulfill.

Claryssa was in Aegon's room waiting for him. He then came inside and saw her with her arms crossed.
"What were you thinking?" Claryssa asked sternly as Aegon did not say anything but walked to a table where there was an empty cup and a jug of wine. "Our son was in a tavern brawl, reeking of ale, and you have nothing to say?"
"I thought he would have a good time." Aegon simply said.
"That's your answer?" Claryssa said angerly, "You thought he would have a good time."
"I always did when I was younger," Aegon defended as he poured his drink, "Especially when Viserys and Daemon took me when I was a boy."
"You are not a boy anymore, Aegon, you are an adult," Claryssa yelled, "For the sake of our son, act like one."
Aegon said nothing as he drank his wine.
"I have been doing everything I could to help our son," Claryssa continued, "Making sure he is doing his studies, getting him to his sword practices, making sure he learns High Valyrian, teaching about the ways of politics for when he's an adult, and trying to give him a good marriage and all you seem to do is run away from every responsibility, not caring how it will impact him."
"Impacting him?" Aegon repeated, "You are worried on how our actions are impacting him, when you are placing him in a marriage, he does not want just like us."
"What about you asking your brother to bring your mistress and her child to court." Claryssa shot back.
Aegon stood there in silent shock. "How did you know about that?"
"Everyone knows it." Claryssa answered, "You are actually trying to bring her to court, so you can see her, so you can be with her in front of everyone. Not caring how it will affect our son."
"I was asking how he would feel until you came in with your proposal about marrying him with Rhaenyra," Aegon said, "And what would you care about what I would want. Unless you were jealous of her."
"I am not jealous of your Braavosi Whore; I'm just trying to stop you from making another mess." Claryssa seethed back to him.
"Are you sure?" Aegon asked as he stood closer to her, "You are not jealous of her? A younger, prettier woman, who I want to be with. A woman who I can actually love-".
As he said those words Claryssa slapped him in the face. Just as she did, she then walked out of the room and slammed the door. Leaving Aegon alone with his thoughts. He wondered how she heard about his request to the king. Then he remembered the words, Braavosi Whore, and there was one person who said those words. Otto Hightower.
