The weeks after our trip to Los Angeles passed like a beautiful dream that I never wanted to end. Every day I woke up with a smile because I knew I would see Mr. Raymond. He was no longer just my boss. He had become the man who made my heart beat faster every time he looked at me with those kind eyes. I tried to hide it, but the feelings were growing stronger inside me like a flower opening in the morning sun.
One evening after a long day in the New York office, we stayed late in his home office again. The city lights were shining through the big windows like stars on the ground. I was typing some notes when Mr. Raymond stood up from his desk and came to sit beside me on the small sofa. He looked tired but happy.
"Bella," he said softly, using my name in that gentle way that always made me feel special, "I have been thinking about you a lot lately. Not just as my assistant, but as someone who has brought light into my life."
My hands stopped on the keyboard. I turned to look at him, my heart pounding so loud I was sure he could hear it. "Mr. Raymond… I don't know what to say. You have done so much for me already. The new job, the salary, bringing me into your world… I am grateful every day."
He smiled and took my hand gently in his. This time I did not pull away. His touch was warm and strong, just like on the plane, but now it felt different — deeper. "It is not only about the job, Bella. From the first day you sat in my office and said yes with so much joy in your eyes, I felt something. You are honest, hardworking, and you have a pure heart. In my world of business and money, I meet many people, but none like you. You make me feel alive again."
I felt tears coming to my eyes but I blinked them away. No one had ever spoken to me like this. "I feel the same way," I whispered, my voice shaking a little. "When I am with you, I forget all my past struggles. You make me feel safe and important. I think about you even when I am at home. Sometimes I smile alone remembering how you laugh or how you say my name."
Mr. Raymond moved closer. His face was so near that I could see the small lines around his eyes when he smiled. "Bella, I have tried to fight this feeling because I am your boss and I don't want to make you uncomfortable. But every time we talk, every time you are close to me, the love I have for you grows stronger. I love the way you work hard without complaining. I love how your eyes light up when you see something beautiful. I love your smile… I love you, Bella."
The words "I love you" hit me like sweet honey in my heart. I could not stop the tears now. They rolled down my cheeks as I looked at him. "Mr. Raymond… I love you too. I have been afraid to say it because I thought it was only in my dreams. You are the CEO, a powerful man, and I am just a girl who came from nothing. But my heart cannot lie anymore. I love you with all my heart."
He wiped my tears gently with his thumb and then pulled me into his arms. I rested my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. It was beating as fast as mine. We stayed like that for a long time, just holding each other in the quiet room with the New York lights outside. It felt like the whole world stopped and only the two of us existed.
From that night, our love became stronger every day. In the office we still kept it professional. I called him Mr. Raymond and did my work with full focus. But when we were alone in his house after closing, we talked for hours. He told me more about his life — how he lost his parents early and built everything by himself, how lonely the top can be. I told him about my village days, helping my mother, and dreaming of a better life. He listened to every word like it was the most important thing in the world.
Sometimes he would cook simple dinner for us in his big kitchen (he said the cook had the day off) and we would eat together laughing at small jokes. He started buying me small gifts — a beautiful necklace, new dresses that fitted me perfectly, and even a phone so we could talk when I was at home. I accepted them with joy because they came from his heart.
One weekend he took me to a quiet park outside the city. We walked hand in hand under the trees. He stopped, turned to me and said, "Bella, you have changed my life. Before you, my days were only about work and meetings. Now I look forward to every moment with you. I want to protect you, spoil you, and make you happy every day."
I hugged him tightly and replied, "You already make me the happiest girl in the world. I never imagined a man like you would love someone like me. But I promise to love you back with all my strength."
Our kisses started small and gentle at first — soft touches on the cheek or forehead. But as the days passed, they became deeper and filled with the strong love we both felt. Every time his lips met mine, I felt fire and sweetness at the same time. I wanted to be closer to him, to give him all of me, but I waited because I knew the right moment would come.
Mr. Raymond was patient and respectful. He never rushed me. He always said, "When you are ready, Bella. I love you enough to wait forever if I have to." That made me love him even more.
By the end of the week, the love between us was burning brightly. I could see it in his eyes when he looked at me, and I felt it deep in my soul. The confusion I had at the beginning was gone. This was real. This was our love story.
But deep inside, I knew that soon our feelings would lead us to a new level of closeness — a level where words were not enough and bodies would speak the language of love.
