Chapter 51 - Chapter 50 The two of us grabbed our cases and followed the others to the changing rooms.

The two of us grabbed our cases and followed the others to the changing rooms.

UA's Hero Course provides a "Costume Grant," a system that allows even "egg-stage" students access to high-performance gear on par with pro heroes. By submitting Quirk data and body measurements, students get custom suits made by top-tier support companies.

Students can submit specific design requests, but if you're vague, you end up like Uraraka.

"Ugh... I should have been more specific with my request," she lamented.

"Whoa! Ochaco-chan, that suit is so cuuuute!" Himiko chirped.

"Y-you think? Isn't it a bit... tight?"

"Not at all! It looks great on you!"

Uraraka looked incredibly embarrassed in her skin-tight bodysuit. To be fair, it left very little to the imagination. She had a fine physique, and I didn't see why she should be ashamed, but perhaps that is simply my past life as a man speaking. Personally, I thought Himiko—who was chatting away while half-dressed—was the more "problematic" sight.

"Whoa! Yaomomo, that's bold!" Ashido called out.

"My 'Creation' Quirk requires me to pull objects from my skin," Yaoyorozu explained, looking a bit weary. "To maximize efficiency, I have to leave a certain amount of surface area exposed."

"Ah, so it's a Quirk requirement. Makes sense!"

"Though, to be honest, I requested even more coverage than this, but it was denied," Yaoyorozu added.

"IT WAS!?"

Meanwhile, Asui—or "Tsu"—was looking at Hagakure. "Ribbit... I tend to say whatever's on my mind. Toru-chan... are you only wearing boots and gloves?"

"If I get serious, I take those off too!" the invisible girl replied cheerfully.

Tsu's concern was valid. While being invisible was certainly Hagakure's greatest asset, being completely nude in a combat zone seemed... impractical.

"Hagakure-san," I spoke up. "You could have requested a suit made of special fibers derived from your own hair. Such a suit would react to your Quirk just as your body does. Mt. Lady uses a similar technology for her giant form."

"...Are you serious?" Hagakure froze. She evidently hadn't considered it.

Jiro chimed in with a dry look. "Serious or not, being naked is a bit much for a high school girl. You should talk to a teacher and get that redesigned."

"Ribbit... I agree."

"I concur," I added. "Besides, winter operations would be impossible in your current state."

"B-but my hair is invisible too! Can they even weave with that?"

"That is something for the faculty to handle. I suggest you move quickly on it."

"Okay! I will!"

With Hagakure's nudity issue addressed (for the moment), the girls turned their attention to us.

"You two look like you're out of a fantasy movie!" Hagakure said.

"Yeah, I've never seen costumes like that!" Ashido added.

Our costumes were, quite literally, formal Jedi attire. Simple white tunics and trousers, plain boots, and a heavy brown robe worn over the top. The robes were loose and flowing—not ideal for high-impact acrobatics. In fact, most Jedi would discard the robe the moment a duel began.

However, these were treated with the best protection this planet could offer. The fabric was reinforced to stop small-caliber rounds and offered significant resistance to both extreme heat and flame. By layering the robe over the tunic, the defensive rating was doubled. I intended to keep the robe on as long as possible, though that would depend on the opponent.

I had been very firm with the support company: do not deviate from the design. They might have meant well with "modernizing" it, but I could not allow the Jedi habit to be corrupted by local trends.

"You're wearing matching outfits," Yaoyorozu noted. "Are you from the same school of martial arts?"

"In a manner of speaking, yes."

Our designs were identical, varying only in size. This was purely because Himiko insisted on matching me. However, since Anakin had been training her as well, we were essentially sister-apprentices.

"Well, they aren't perfectly identical," Himiko pouted. "The materials are different."

"That was a necessary adjustment for our Quirks, Himiko."

"I know, I know. But I wanted everything to be the same! They didn't even finish our lightsabers in time, so I'm already compromising... if it's not going to be 'cute,' it should at least be a matching set."

Himiko puffed out her cheeks. This wasn't a fashion statement for a date; I didn't see why she was so fixated on it. It seemed her desire to match me outweighed any interest in her own "Hero" persona.

"How are the materials different?" Uraraka asked.

"Our suits are woven with fibers derived from our own DNA," I explained. "It allows the costume to interact with our specific Quirks more effectively."

"Like the Mt. Lady example you gave?" Tsu asked.

"Exactly."

"Whoa! I wonder what Himiko-chan's Quirk is," Uraraka said excitedly. "She didn't use it yesterday. I can't wait to see it!"

Himiko's true intentions seemed to have flown over everyone's heads, which was a relief.

"..."

"Is something wrong, Jiro?" I asked.

"No... it's just... let's both do our best, okay? In a lot of ways."

"Hm. Of course."

I wasn't entirely sure what she meant by "in a lot of ways," but her gaze seemed strangely sympathetic.
