Eveningg – The City Streets
The rain had finally ceased, leaving behind a cool, rhythmic breeze. Jinwoo walked along the roadside, his footsteps silent as a shadow. His mind, however, was far from quiet.
"That girl... she's different," his inner voice whispered. "She wants to know me, to peel back the layers. But how can I tell her? Everything about me is a beacon for danger."
As if summoned by his thoughts, Prithvi appeared from the opposite side of the street. She was smiling, her hair caught in the soft evening wind.
"Hey, Jinwoo!" she called out, her eyes lighting up. "Come on... let's go grab a coffee."
"No," Jinwoo replied, his tone flat. "I don't drink coffee."
Prithvi didn't miss a beat. "Well, I'm going to drink coffee. And I need company... so you're coming with me."
Before he could protest, she reached out and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him toward the cafe. She tugged with all her might, but Jinwoo didn't budge—not even an inch.
"Hey... how are you this strong?" she teased, though her eyes held a spark of genuine wonder. "I'm pulling as hard as I can, and you're like a mountain. Are you even human?"
Jinwoo felt a jolt of panic. He had to divert her attention immediately. "Fine," he sighed. "Let's go to the coffee shop."
Inside the Local Cafe
They sat at a small, intimate table. A steaming cup of hot coffee sat before Prithvi, while Jinwoo sat across from her, his hands folded.
"Why are you so quiet?" Prithvi asked, leaning in. "I have so many questions. How are you so powerful? What I saw last night... it was impossible."
Jinwoo took a deep breath, looking around to ensure no one was listening. "Okay. I'll tell you. But you have to keep this a secret. It's not normal. It's dangerous."
"I promise," Prithvi said solemnly. "Your secret is safe with me."
Jinwoo lowered his voice to a whisper. "Do you believe in vampires?"
Prithvi blinked, surprised. "Vampires? No... not really."
"I am a Vampire," Jinwoo stated firmly. "The last of a Royal Bloodline—the descendant of the Vampire King."
Prithvi's jaw dropped. "Seriously?! Does that mean... you don't sleep? Do you live on blood?"
"Yes... but blood isn't a necessity for me anymore. I possess the Mist Power," Jinwoo explained. "It's a cursed gift left behind by my family. A power... and a burden."
"Wow..." Prithvi whispered, her shock turning into awe. "I believe you. After seeing how you handled those thugs... I knew you weren't ordinary."
The Breaking News
Their conversation was interrupted by the flickering TV mounted on the cafe wall.
> "BREAKING NEWS: A brutal attack at the Ancient Temple. Multiple casualties reported. The killer remains unknown, but witnesses speak of a mysterious, dark power..."
They both stared at the screen in silence. Prithvi turned back to him, her voice soft.
"Jinwoo... you're a good person. You didn't know me, yet you saved me. In this world, that's rare. I... I really like you, Jinwoo."
Jinwoo felt a warmth he hadn't experienced in centuries. A small, rare smile touched his lips. "Don't worry. I'll always be here. I will protect you."
"You'll stay with me?" Prithvi asked, her smile widening.
"I mean... I'll protect you," Jinwoo stammered, suddenly nervous.
They both laughed, the tension breaking, but their eye contact remained deep and meaningful.
"What is this feeling?" Jinwoo wondered. "For the first time, I want someone to stay in my life forever. I have to protect her—no matter the cost."
The Forest Path
Later that evening, they took a walk along the edge of the forest. The atmosphere was calm until a low, guttural growl vibrated through the trees.
GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Suddenly, a massive wild wolf lunged from the thicket, leaping directly at Prithvi!
Prithvi screamed, but before the beast could touch her, Jinwoo moved with a flash of supernatural speed. He intercepted the wolf mid-air and, with a single, devastating punch, slammed it into a nearby tree.
The wolf hit the trunk and slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Prithvi stood frozen for a second before looking at Jinwoo with a mix of relief and happiness. "Jinwoo... you really meant it. You really are protecting me."
Jinwoo looked at her, his expression softening. "I told you... I'm not going anywhere.
