​Xuan's car screeched to a halt outside the Wei estate. He didn't care about the guards or the laws. His jealousy had reached a level of madness where nothing else existed but his claim on Ning. He saw her through the gates, sitting alone, looking fragile. His heart twisted with a mix of agonizing love and explosive anger. "How dare she cry for them?" he muttered, his eyes narrowing. He jumped the fence, his movements predatory. When he reached her, he didn't comfort her; he grabbed her wrist, pulling her toward him. "Look at me!" he roared. Ning gasped, her eyes wide and overflowing with fresh tears. "Xuan, you shouldn't be here!" she cried. "I have to stay!" Xuan's grip tightened. "You belong in my house, in my bed, in my life!" He was shaking with the need to hide her away from the Wei family's gaze. "I will not let you be a sacrifice for a debt I could have paid tenfold." He pulled her into a kiss that tasted of salt and desperation. It wasn't a gentle kiss; it was a declaration of war. He wanted to consume her so there would be nothing left for anyone else to take.
